Ruth Ann actually remember me and welcomed me back with a loud hello and a warm hug!! I had to hold back my tears! She made me feel so comfortable and she was sincere!! As I was leaving, I went to pay, knowing my membership had expired. David was so kind, he reactivated my membership after that many years!!! I was so impressed and touched by their kindness!! The instructors here are VERY good. It's almost like you get personal yoga training as the instructors give ample 1:1 attention throughout the class, are welcoming and encouraging. I also really love the space. It's very large and plenty of room to spread out facilitates the use of props since you a lot of space for your supports which are available there. It's not uncommon to have a blanket, bloster, strap, blocks, a thick blanket, and sometimes add a chair and ball, AND use all of them. They really focus on getting circulation flowing everywhere. Highly recommend for anyone from new yogis to people wanting to master more complicated intermediate postures.

But after a few classes at Highland Yoga, I have a feeling I may have found my new home. I've visited both the Buckhead and Brookhaven locations. Both are beautiful, but Brookhaven is definitely my favorite since it's so close to my house. It may not seem like a huge difference, but on those days when motivation is a little low, having a studio just minutes away makes it so much easier to stay consistent. I also want to give a special shout-out to Kindall. She has such a beautiful spirit and was incredibly welcoming. When you're trying a new studio, the people you encounter really shape your first impression, and she made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. Another thing I appreciate is the size of the studio. The waiting area is spacious, and the practice room itself never feels overcrowded. After a hot yoga class, we're all a little sweaty and tired, so having enough space makes a huge difference. I've been to studios that felt a bit cramped, and it can become overstimulating pretty quickly. Highland does a great job of creating an environment that feels open, calm, and comfortable. And I have to mention the parking--because convenient parking deserves its own paragraph! There's a free parking garage directly across from the studio that's less than a five-minute walk away. If you're unfamiliar with the area, that's such a nice bonus. On those mornings when you're running a little behind, the last thing you want to worry about is circling for parking before class. Thankfully, that's not something you have to think about here. I'm officially five classes in, and I can already say I think Highland Yoga has earned a new member. I'm looking forward to continuing my practice here.

The highland location is in a strip with parking in the back. The parking is a bit confusing as to when it's free or not, but I've always gone in Sunday's and I haven't had to pay(I think). The studio has free mats and provides a cool Towel after the session. You can be yoga gear, water, hair ties and more in the studio. New members can sign up for $30 for 30 days of unlimited classes. They challenge you, and you definitely will get in serious yoga shape, but in a compassionate, non-judgmental way. The yoga instructors are really good here, and I mean, REALLY good. The sessions are filled with beginners to advanced dancers who are beyond gorgeous with their postures, and everyone is celebrated. The instructors are top notch-- they support the super beginner to the professional dancer. It's a very diverse and vibrant community, which I just love so much.

I've been practicing Anusara Yoga with Gina Minyard for about two years. Gina has been teaching and practicing Anusara Yoga for 10+ years. Lucky is the student who practices with her. Gina suggested and helped me order a yoga mat that is appropriate for me (I'm 6'6", so I kinda need a large mat). She also has setup payment plans for each Anusara Immersion (1, 2, and 3), and has taught each of those with passion and clarity. The space is small, and a little weirdly organized. They only accept cash or check, so good thing I had a checkbook. You deposit your money in this bowl, and if you need change, you make it based on the cash in there (honor system). I really liked the vibe of the place. Very relaxing and very soothing. Gina was very nonjudgmental and helped me at my sad attempt at a half hand stand (why do yoga people LOVE these??) but she was SO patient with my sometimes dense behavior. The poses were very suitable for a beginner, and even before the day was out I was feeling sore in my arms (awesome!). I really liked this class, and given that there were like 5 students total, it was great to get some individual attention. I will definitely be back, and I might sign up for a package and save a little money.
