First things first... let's talk about the parking. Parking is free and conveniently located directly in front of the studio. If you're familiar with the Sandy Springs area, it's in the same shopping center as Kroger, making it incredibly easy to find and access. My instructor for this class was Dayna, and she was so warm and welcoming. One thing that really stood out to me was that she immediately recognized I was new to this location. Rather than simply checking me in, she offered to give me a quick tour of the studio and shared a little about Highland Yoga before class started. That extra personal touch made me feel genuinely welcomed, and it's something I always appreciate when trying a new location. The studio itself is spacious, clean, and very well maintained--consistent with the experience I've had at the other Highland Yoga studios I've visited. It's clear they take pride in creating a comfortable environment for their members. Another bonus for me was the class schedule. They offer an 8:15 a.m. class, which I found to be the perfect middle ground. It's early enough that you can get your workout in and still have plenty of time to tackle the rest of your day afterward. Overall, this was another wonderful Highland Yoga experience. Dayna's kindness and hospitality really made this location memorable, and I would absolutely return to take another class with her.

But after a few classes at Highland Yoga, I have a feeling I may have found my new home. I've visited both the Buckhead and Brookhaven locations. Both are beautiful, but Brookhaven is definitely my favorite since it's so close to my house. It may not seem like a huge difference, but on those days when motivation is a little low, having a studio just minutes away makes it so much easier to stay consistent. I also want to give a special shout-out to Kindall. She has such a beautiful spirit and was incredibly welcoming. When you're trying a new studio, the people you encounter really shape your first impression, and she made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. Another thing I appreciate is the size of the studio. The waiting area is spacious, and the practice room itself never feels overcrowded. After a hot yoga class, we're all a little sweaty and tired, so having enough space makes a huge difference. I've been to studios that felt a bit cramped, and it can become overstimulating pretty quickly. Highland does a great job of creating an environment that feels open, calm, and comfortable. And I have to mention the parking--because convenient parking deserves its own paragraph! There's a free parking garage directly across from the studio that's less than a five-minute walk away. If you're unfamiliar with the area, that's such a nice bonus. On those mornings when you're running a little behind, the last thing you want to worry about is circling for parking before class. Thankfully, that's not something you have to think about here. I'm officially five classes in, and I can already say I think Highland Yoga has earned a new member. It's not uncommon to have a blanket, bloster, strap, blocks, a thick blanket, and sometimes add a chair and ball, AND use all of them. They really focus on getting circulation flowing everywhere. Highly recommend for anyone from new yogis to people wanting to master more complicated intermediate postures.

Although I did not like the dictatorial style of teaching by Julie, the owner, I did like other instructors and decided to give it one more month for January. I paid $80 for January and after a few more classes, decided the very rigid teaching style of the owner was too much. The payment was for one month and not as an automatic monthly charge. I never use debit for reoccurring charges because there is no recourse. Credit cards do allow disputes on unauthorized charges. Julie continued to charge my debit card for the next six months. I rarely review debit transactions. only credit card charges, and did not see the reoccurring charges until June. I called Julie to get the charges credited back. She refused and would not accept that I had only agreed to the January charge, not a reoccurring monthly charge. This would have NEVER occurred at Bikram Marietta and I regret more than before that Nadra had to close the studio. If you use Just Yoga, pay in CASH. Do Not use a debit card and I advise against keeping a credit card on file.

Real hot yoga with nothing extraneous. Julie Benham is an expert in the 26-2 and is focused on helping others heal themselves and grow stronger in the process. She studies the science of yoga, and is a constant learning type - so her knowledge is not stale or copypasta. You'll learn something new every day, if you listen. I've practiced the 26 postures of hot yoga under many guises and in studios all over Atlanta and the country. This is the first space I've found where the energy in the studio is completely neutral, the space is visually quiet and the teacher is tuned into what is going on in her students' bodies. Her voice gets in your mind and helps you turn all your thoughts directly to your breath and movement. I'm inspired by Julie's teaching style and I look forward to practicing here as often as I can. Oh yeah, one more thing: she doesn't stick to the dialogue, but for the first time in my practice, I can say this is a good thing. You'll see.

Some things to note: - There are cubbies to store your belongings but not locked up. - You can't take belongings in the room except for what you need. Phones must stay in the cubby and there is no recording or photographing on site. - You can't wear shoes in the classrooms. You may want to wear socks to walk in the room if that bothers you walking barefoot. - They have showers to get dressed and changed. - The instructor was great! She showed modifications for each move from beginners to advanced. - Parking is free right in front of the entrance. - They have blocks available, if needed. I would definitely return again!

But if need be, there's also a parking lot in the back. The staff has always been welcoming, warm, and Calm. The classes are always started with an intention and you touch on that at the end. I do like the temperature of the room as it's warm without being stifling. Would come again!
