FAKE ANTIBODY TESTS!!! Both my father and I got an antibody test on the same day, separate times. We were both told we did not have any antibodies. (That means we had less than 0.8 antibodies) It al felt a bit sketchy so we go tested the next day at Labcorp (Walgreens). That blood draw revealed that both my father and I had antibodies over 450!! Brightstar Care changed ownership years ago, having been purchased from the original owner, George Sanchez (who was great). The new management is horrifically irresponsible. We have filed claims of fraudulence with our longterm care insurance. They do not monitor staff appropriately enabling caregivers to file false timesheets, they do not provide appropriate supervision, they do not respond to calls, they do not seem to care about their customers. We gave them multiple opportunities to make it right with us. They appear to be hemorrhaging staff and caregivers as we've seen huge amounts of turnover in recent months. I have been to the temporary COVID testing spot in Temple three times, and have always had the most helpful and kind personnel assist me. The lines can be long, but that's to be expected, and I'd rather no one is rushed when it comes to cleanliness. I honestly would have visited the Temple location even more had they remained open weekends, as there aren't very many (any?) convenient first-come-first-served locations here. I think almost everywhere else is appointment only, and of course they are booked out for days. I visited the Round Rock/north Austin location one time in the afternoon, and they attempted to thwart our testing by lying and saying they didn't know if they had enough tests. I'm sure they were trying to go home after a long day, but we showed up at specific time, that was discussed and planned with employees in the week prior, due to a tight timeline with travel restrictions. Although, we were stubborn, and stayed, and once it was our turn they were still friendly and efficient. I like their ease of billing, efficiency, quick turn around time for results, and by and large, excellent customer service. They helped us with many questions and guided us exactly where we needed to be, saving us $600-700 testing fees. Would highly recommend. read more

The Brightstar physical therapist and home health nurse were both incredibly helpful after my knee replacement. They were kind, encouraging, and attentive to my needs as an individual. They always communicated well about scheduling and they were great advocates with my surgeon, who was not very concerned with my well being after the surgery. My home health nurse even brought me a healthy lunch! Especially because I live alone, their support was so important. Sometimes they were the only people I saw for days on end, so having human contact with caregivers who were so thoughtful and caring made all the difference in my recovery. I will definitely call Brightstar again when I have the other knee replaced. read more

Criminal entity. I completed paperwork online to receive a COVID test. Once I drove the 20 minutes to the site, the nurse that came to my car informed me it would be $75. I explained I had insurance that would cover the test. She stated that yes, insurance covers the test, but the company itself charges the $75 as an "administration fee". Not only is this a barbaric abuse of a pandemic, but this fee was stated no where in the process of registration on their site! I drove away, wasting a total of 40 minutes of time and gas money. Additionally, even on their own Yelp page (as of the date this was written), they state a fee of $30, drastically different than $75. read more

I arranged with Brightstar for transport to medical appointment. I made repeated calls to confirm. The driver didnt show up causing me to be late and causing needless stress. I would not use this agency for transport. I would rate zero stars if that were allowed. read more

I had the best experience with BrightStar and help from Tamra. She was quick to move mountains to get everything coordinated and help navigate insurance. All of their staff is incredibly welcoming, everyone knows each other, and there are no questions left after speaking with them. Talk about knowledgeable!! I can not begin to describe the disorganization of Brightstar. From the beginning of being discharged from the hospital, this company never contacted me. I have left several message with no return call. When I get through, I'm forced to leave a message or go through their phone tree for a department I do not need. The only people who have ever shown up are subcontractor Physical Therapists, who have been wonderful. But because Brightstar has dropped the ball on sending my physical notes to physicians, obtaining authorization from my insurance company, and ensuring the continuity of my care. I'm now without any care due to their incompetence, unless I want to pay out of pocket or line up another company and start all over again. No wonder people give up. I would not recommend this company. Their review rating is a joke. They are making excuses that they are in transition with systems however, or try to pass the blame to the insurance company but the insurance and doctors have never received notes or follow up. I got skipped by intentionally. They knew I was here first. I was also here yesterday and had to go to get my small children, was waiting for 20 minutes. I told this guy I couldn't stay longer and was already waiting. I came back today and this same dark blonde white guy saw me and skipped me. When he finished with other who arrived 10-15 minutes later, got the serve first. I told him I was here first. He simply said I know. Very rude and disrespectful. Brightstar Nurses are exceptional nurses and they really care about me as a person. I'm always impressed with the professionalism of their organization. Recently I had to switch speciality pharmacies; I simply notified Brightstar and they smoothly handled the transition. I hired BrightStar for several months in 2010 to take care of my 94 year old uncle. As a newcomer to this, I really didn't know what to expect as far as service. My uncle is very particular about the people he has in his house and around his things. This posed a problem in finding the right caretaker for him. Everyone at BrightStar worked with me to get the right person. It took some time and in that time we didn't always have the best care but once we found the right person, It worked perfectly. They worked with me to get my uncle the proper care he needed. I hired BrightStar for the second time in 2011 to take care of my uncle. They were so good about picking up where we left of about 6 months before. I use them for 114 hrs. per week. Its very expensive over a several month span, however, I know with out a doubt that my uncle is well taken care of and I don't have to worry when I'm not with him. The ladies in the office have always provided the schedule I need. I often call to have a shift covered, and without fail, they always provide what I need. They have worked with me and my busy life as if I were their only customer. The service BrightStar provides is excellent, and I am a very particular person. All in all, I am grateful to have BrightStar as our in home care. They make you feel like you and your family are important. read more

We experienced professionalism throughout our entire experience with BrightStar. I spoke with the owner initially who went above and beyond to help me prepare for my mothers' week long visit. My mother has Multiple Sclerosis and is in a power chair and requires a lot of care. We have had many terrible experiences in the past and it is rare that someone will even come back the next day. We had the same caregiver every visit (twice a day) and the care giver was very positive and delightful to be around. BrightStar has been exceptionally helpful with the care of my 83 year old Mother. They have been on time, followed all the directions in a timely manner to the letter. One morning there was a shift change and the person that was supposed to be arriving had car trouble and the owner herself came in at 5:30 AM and stayed until a relief worker could get there. That's the kind of care and dedication we were looking for! We would recommend them to anyone needing home health care help. We have hired BrightStar 2 different times in the last 6 months to care for my 80 year old father. After the last time, we will not be hiring them again. The owner handles all communication and is very professional, yet that is where the professionalism ends. The first time we hired BrightStar to assist with eye drops for my dad. They never showed up on time, and though we requested them NOT to assist him with getting to his meals, they did so anyway and threw off his schedule for several weeks. It is very hard to get an 80 year old with the onset of Alzheimer's to be on a consistent schedule. Shouldn't a health care assistance staff know this? The second time we were going out of town and requested assistance with showering for dad, only every other day. They didn't even show up the first scheduled day and acted like showing up the day after (which was not scheduled), would make everything ok. I had requested to be contacted (a simple text) during each visit so that we wouldn't have to worry while on vacation. The owner assured me we would be contacted and that was the last I heard from BrightStar throughout our entire 10 days away.
