I also really appreciate that the guys running the shop are low pressure, and super honest. I hired a contractor to replace the hardwoods in my craftsman. I loved the floors but some of the areas were beyond repair and I didn't think it was really possible to just replace the damaged areas without it being obvious - these old floors have patina and natural wear, and I was sure they'd been sanded down numerous times. My contractors was sure he could do it, but said to check out the floors at Seaport in case I wanted to do a full replacement. The guys at Seaport were so technical with the specific sanders and stains and finishes, I can see why my contractor sent me here. I ended up going with the repair instead of a full replacement, and I am so thankful that they convinced me. They saved my 50+ year old floors, they look and feel incredible. They looked through photos of my floors and picked out unfinished boards that were not just the same oak type, but even had similar grain patterns for the replacement boards. These guys are true masters of their craft and champions of old-world quality. Craftsmen like guys at Seaport are the secrete magicians that keep the charm alive in old homes in Portland. And if you're in the market for a full replacement, they have samples of all of their floors, finished and unfinished, and a lot (a ton!!) of smaller swatch samples you can take home to see in your space and to show your contractor your stain choices. If you've gone to a big box store and felt some expensive hardwoods, do yourself a favor and stop by Seaport and really feel the quality difference. The young kid working there showed me what I did ask for but it would have been helpful to explain differences between click and lock and just tiles. I tried explaining this to Mike only to be yelled at. I did not know there was a difference in application and would have done more homework with the correct information from flooring people. That's on me as I explained this to Mike as I took ownership of ordering in incorrect product. Mike was not helpful at all when I called asking about return policy so I could get the correct product ordered. Mike was rude even after I owned up to ordering the wrong flooring as I thought what was ordered was what was needed. He complained about having to the rep. Boo hoo that he had to make a call. He was yelling at me and was not hearing me at all. I would never go back to this company based on this individual's demeanor and phone etiquette. He is not a person I ever want to work with again as not sure how they are still in business after my experience. He should NEVER be working in customer service because he does not know the meaning of it. Shame on him for treating me with such disrespect as a customer. Each time I had work done, I'd get multiple bids before deciding on one; given that, I've probably spoken to 15 contractors specifically about the water coming into the house. But Tana was the very 1st one to tell me that cantilever decks are known for their water intrusion problems... and she wasn't even there to give me a bid on water issues. She was just there to give me a bid on the new deck. When Randy and their team started deck demolition, they uncovered serious dry rot. Rather than working around it and hiding it, they were honest with me about the depth of the problem, and recommended another company to assess the situation. I got multiple bids on that as well, and ended up using the contractor they recommended. As a single woman who has to make all of these home repair decisions alone, I often feel like I'm being taken advantage of; but my experience with Three 60 Decks was the complete opposite. They were adamant that I check in with Linda and Mark Evans of L Evans Design Group. I did what my friend recommended and I am so glad that I did. I have worked with a number of home improvement contractors over the years but Linda and Mark provided a level of competency and service that is rare within the industry. The experience started with a consultation and over the next several weeks we held multiple meetings to make sure the designs matched my vision for the project - both in terms of design and budget. The six-month project kicked off in January of 2020. Who knew that we would face a pandemic in a few short months? Even with such obstacles, the demolition, build, and finish of the project continued within the timeline and budget promised by Linda and Mark. I can't express how cared for I felt during the process. Every morning I awoke to an email explaining what would unfold during the coming day. Each afternoon the workers cleaned up the work area and left the site secured. Our safety and comfort were of primary importance to Linda and Mark as we made our way through shifting recommendations related to COVID and the myriad of challenges that purchasing products and securing craftspeople during a pandemic required. I do believe that nearly every day of the project Linda or Mark either stopped by personally or checked in with me to make sure work was getting done properly. On the rare occasion that something had not been done perfectly (and I mean perfectly), Linda made sure to get someone to the construction site to make a repair or rebuild. I am not convinced that anyone can assure a project of this scale and scope without a few bumps in the road as construction and design are complicated and require the coordination of many vendors and tradespeople. When things went wrong, they were corrected immediately. When issues arose - Linda addressed them. When plans need to change (often at my request and due to my poor planning) they were made without repercussions. Six months later, I moved back into an amazing kitchen build-out/remodel and build of a new laundry/bath. I have been living in the space for the past six months and Linda and Mark have been by to make sure I am content. Each time with a smile and an eagerness to make sure I am happy with the work done. My new kitchen and laundry room are so impressive. I am thrilled to have chosen Linda and Mark as my designer/builder/contractor. I can't imagine what this project would have been like with anyone else. They are now family friends and I can't wait to start other remodeling projects with them in the future - if for no other reason than to stay connected with two people who have made my home so much nicer. The first job went well and I liked the covers so I asked them to return and add covers to all the gutters. Unfortunately, the second job was given to a young, relatively inexperienced crew who did a very poor job. I had to call the owner back to have their work corrected. He wasn't too happy about my call but he did come out to do the correction. Having had a bad experience with the second crew, I later wrote the owner asking guidance on why the gutters were dripping along the gutter front, worried that it was connected to the poor second job. Gutters are not supposed to drip when they are empty of leaves/clutter. Mine were clean and the drips were significantly large drips. The owner NEVER responded to my questions. He could have responded to me with an answer to calm my fears about this being a normal feature of gutter covers (I have no idea if this is true or not) but he NEVER responded to any emails, calls, texts, etc. even though I gave him plenty of time to respond between tries. I take offense that once he had my money, he dropped caring for my needs/questions. I expect professionalism from companies that I hire. I try to be cordial and fair. I avoid being bombastic or angry. I approach a question with an openness, but when I am totally ignored, I do get angry. Thus, this review that I've been putting off for some time. My advice if you hire this company is to make sure you have an experienced crew do your job, not the owner's son who is learning the trade and who is not teamed up with an experienced crew to guide and correct him at the time of work. Hopefully, you'll be happy with the result and not have to call them back, because you may never see them again!
