We signed up for the candle workshop which includes 2 DIY candles made of soy wax with a wooden wick that crackles like a fireplace! The instructor was super helpful and sweet and very accommodating. She walked through the process step by step and helped whenever someone had a problem. It's also being your own snack and beverage which was really fun to graze on while waiting for the candles to solidify. There are other classes here such as knitting and earring making which I can't wait to check out!

Recently I attended a girls' day event at a candle shop where we crocheted our own blankets, and it…read morewas such a fun and unique experience! One of the best parts was that it was BYOB and BYOF (bring your own food), which made the day even more exciting. We brought an assortment of dips, chips, fruit, cheese, and even chicken wings, and it was a blast snacking while working on our blankets. The environment was absolutely beautiful--being in a candle shop meant it smelled divine, and the space was thoughtfully designed and well-maintained. You could tell the staff genuinely care about the place, which I really appreciated. In terms of the actual blanket crocheting, they had a decent variety of colors to choose from, and you can even request specific colors in advance, which is a nice touch. We were a group of six, and none of us had crocheted before, but the employee who helped us at the start was fantastic at teaching us. After she left, the owner (in the photos - I'm sorry I forgot her name!) stepped in, and she was equally amazing--so friendly, patient, and helpful. The session lasted over three hours, which did get a little tiring, but the owner was great at stepping in to help those who got too tired (or a bit tipsy!) finish their blankets. While I loved the experience overall, I wasn't thrilled with how my blanket turned out--it was way too loose and ended up looking more like a spiderweb. I ended up throwing it away and plan to redo it at home, but that didn't take away from how much I enjoyed the day. Even though the location was a bit far (about 45 minutes for me), I would absolutely come back. The combination of a fun, creative activity, great company, and such a welcoming atmosphere made it a memorable day!

A cool place to visit where you can take classes. They also do paw prints (and I'm assuming humans…read moretoo).

Bottom line: Hot Sand is a unique glass art shop and interactive experience in Asbury Park…read more Beautiful glass items on display and for sale as well as opportunities to interact with the artists there (see their website) to make a unique glass object as a result. I dig it. The Deets: When I went to visit my parents on the recent Easter holiday, I saw the glass eggs I had given them in the past and it reminded me of my visits to Hot Sand on Cookman Ave in Asbury Park where they were purchased. I cannot believe I didn't come on Yelp and show some love but fixing that now. Hot Sand is a shop that is more like a showcase or gallery for some of the amazing glass blown/sculpted items they create and sell. Best thing I can recommend is to look at the pics here on Yelp as well as their own website to get a feel for what they offer. Speaking of offerings, Hot Sand also has interactive opportunities to help create your own glass blown/sculpted items with their artists in the workshop area in the back (check out their website for details/FAQ). Their website states the "immersive, exciting hot glass experiences are one-of-a-kind" and I agreed with what I saw on my visits there. Beautiful glass art made and sold as well as interactive opportunities with the staff does make Hot Sand a unique experience that I recommend visiting when in Asbury Park.

When it's not too crowded, dogs are allowed inside (who would have thought?)! We loved it and had sooo much fun! We went during off-hours; on a Monday night in December, so the crowds were minimal and it wasn't too loud. Brie explored and even helped us play some games! There were grabbing machines, video games, basketball hoops, skee ball, and so much more! Brie's dad even got a high score on a pinball game! If you go, please be sure to go during a quiet time!

Very disappointed experience here and not sure how this place stays open in the off season…read more Numerous games were not working. Bowling, ski ball and another game were down. This is already small and to have their highlight games down is unacceptable. Air hockey pucks were all getting stuck. I would avoid this arcade. We purchased 3 cards with $80 each and left with them more than half full. If we had realized sooner we wouldn't have purchased this. Extremely hot in there on a not hot day. The staff wasn't interested at all in even acknowledging customers there. Awful experience.
