We bought a new house recently, so we hired Bright Sunshine Cleaning to clean up the house before we moved anything in. Based on the great reviews, I was really surprised by their service. I've never hired cleaners before because the idea of hiring people to clean up my mess felt weird, but cleaning up other people's mess seemed kosher :) Scheduling was fairly easy. My husband took part of the day off from work to be there for their arrival. To start, they showed up 20 minutes late to clean the house. Apparently, they seemed really confused when they walked into the house and there was no furniture in it. It didn't seem like they were told what they were supposed to be doing, which was focusing on the kitchen and the bathrooms to make sure they were sanitized before we moved in, cleaning the windows, removing any cobwebs, and cleaning the floors. Unfortunately, none of them knew English well enough to communicate about what they were doing or questions they had. They did the job within their estimated time, and we wrote them a check. They don't mention this until it is time to pay, but you have to pay cash or check. I got to the house later, and the cleaning job was, frankly, pretty dang mediocre. There were still a number of cobwebs left in the corners of the windows, some grime left on the toilets, the tub wasn't cleaned, and the countertops sticky with residue of some kind. It's possible I just have high standards for cleanliness, but I expected a lot more for a cleaning job I paid $200 for. If you are on the fence about paying for a cleaning and willing to do the work yourself, I would personally recommend either going with a different service or pocketing your cash and doing it yourself. read more

They were good at communicating as we finalized the day and time, and when they arrived and finished. They showed up on time and did a very thorough job of cleaning in 3 hours. Coordinating was difficult and far from precise (used them for over 1 year), most recent clean was done after furniture was removed from house and was over $100 more than previous cleans. This would have been fine, and I paid it without issue, but I was not informed that it would cost more until after I had submitted a payment for the service (at previous rate), which is disappointing. I replied letting them know my surprise and they did not respond. I would have hoped a major cost difference like that would have been discussed beforehand, it is not like this was an unexpected change in cleaning type (they knew this was a move out clean) and there were no other surprises or large messes that were left behind, some pet hair and typical move out dust/dirt. read more

They didn't need to vacuum my carpets because they were just cleaned so I thought the price would've came down a bit. NOT RELIABLE!! I read some great reviews about this company so I contacted them and scheduled a cleaning day. I requested a quick turn-around because my husband was having surgery and I needed the house clean for when he came home. I had several companies that would accommodate my request and I went with this company because they said they promised to come on a specified date/time. BUT, they called and cancelled 1 HOUR before they were supposed to arrive (due to "car problems"), and left me no time to call another cleaning service.
