A couple of weeks ago someone from Bright Side Marin rang my doorbell to see if I was interested in window washing or power washing. My initial reaction was "no" but with houseguests on the way I quickly changed course. My windows needed washing actually, quite badly. A price was agreed to verbally and in the week ahead, via text and phone, we set a date and time for the process. I had read of Bright Side Marin on Next Door. It was started by a recent graduate of the local high school and employs other folks of that age. I I like the idea of supporting a local, young entrepreneur but want to provide a couple observations/caveats that may matter to others: * I have had my windows cleaned professionally in the past. Though the windows are equally clean, this cleaning took far longer than any previous cleaning. This wasn't a deal-breaker but good to know if you're the type who prefers workers who get the job done quickly. * The job began with 2 people but someone else had the necessary tall ladder and they weren't here at the agreed upon start time. The work could still begin and it did, even without the ladder. Later, one of the workers left before he'd completed what he was supposed to and he'd failed to do wash some of the windows for which he was responsible. This all then became the responsibility of the remaining worker, who diligently dealt with it all until 2 additional workers (including the owner, Lucas) showed up. I was left with the impression that some of Bright Side's staff are more diligent than others and was happy for the hard work of Jameson and the follow-up by Lucas. Bright Side Marin felt pretty much how I'd expect a business run by and with young adults to operate. It was less professional than more seasoned businesses with long-time staff but my windows are very clean for what I thought a fair price and in the end, that's what matters most to me. read more

I can't say enough about this company. They did my windows last year and again this year and they do an amazing job. I have high outside windows and skylights and Everything is sparkling and out. All the work is done by a bunch of great young guys. read more

Way to go Lucas and the Bright Side Marin crew! I had my "to-do" list and one of the things was clean solar panels. Ugh. Other items on the list were checked off, but we kept putting off this item. Lucas and crew arrived on a warm Saturday morning. They were on the roof and done in about an hour. Insured, professional, meticulous...I thought they didn't clean my skylights but...oops...the smudges were my fault in the inside of the glass. New to-do list item (shrug). They did a solid job washing our windows, power washing our cement and also our house (which helped prep as we were about to get the house painted). I will definitely use them again. read more

This was the Company that did my windows and screens today. They were clean and efficient and careful with some of my older windows. They are very young men, polite, dressed in shirts with the Company's name on the front. Lucas was the lead and I was very satisfied with the results. I recommend them. Very grateful for the guys at Bright Side. Our deck was in need of a serious power washing, and these guys brought the color back to life. They were on time, quick, efficient, friendly and extremely helpful. One thing that we did not anticipate is finding a mouse living under our furniture covers! Even though it wasn't in the scope of the project, they helped me strip the outdoor sectional, clean it off and get it all sorted, even being nice enough to power wash a few areas more than once. Bright Side Marin Review I cannot overstate what an outstanding job Bright Side Marin did with our windows and screens earlier this week. The outcome surpassed my most optimistic expectations. The windows are flawless/perfect, screens are like new-- undoubtedly a result of: * their use of state-of-the-art equipment, * the skilled nature of the crew, * Their unparalleled work ethic and quality standards: - They double-cleaned "problem" windows - They went beyond agreed upon scope of work. Lucas and his sidekicks spent a few hours here yesterday efficiently cleaning our windows and skylights, exterior and interior, as well as our gutters. Our windows were embarrassingly dirty, and today they are sparkling clean; it does make a difference inside our home. I chose Bright Side Marin to wash skylights and solar panels having read the positive reviews and thinking that young people should get a fair opportunity to make money. It was easy to communicate with Brady, they were flexible, and price was very competitive. These things earn the two stars. Sadly, the quality of the work were subpar and the on-site communications were lacking. First of all, the crew arrived with the lead not sure what they were supposed to do. Then, my wife and I observed most of the guys chatting with just one person actually doing a rigorous jobs. That is clear with some of the dirt still visible (in the skylights, we haven't climbed up to assess the panels). Upon completion, the yard furniture was not placed where it used to be, not a big deal but just adds to the overall impression of slackness and no interest in longer-term customer retention. It is entirely possible that the quality is drastically different depending on the crew, but I won't test my luck again. read more
