Like many places in this area, seating is limited, so on the weekend you may have a short wait. Great service and delicious, satisfying meals await if you are patient. I enjoyed the breakfast platter and hiked all day before I was hungry again. We were sat by the window and got to watch town go by which was a nice way to pass the time. Coffee was great as well.

Checkout 10:am, so as we departed Canaan Valley we had breakfast with the Bright Morning Inn. I've been there several times and it's always great. It's a functioning Inn, but I've only ever visited the dining area: Generous portions and fabulous flavors. Friend #1 had blueberry pancakes. You could smell the blueberries long before they reached the table. Friend #2 had biscuits and sausage gravy and he loved them. Hubby had the house special breakfast and was pleased. I had the garden omelette. Tasty! The service, as always, relaxed and very competent. As with all establishments in the Davis area, art is a major part of their decor. The Bright Morning Inn is loaded with local art, flair and flavor. It's a must-do departure meal and a perfect close to a wonderful get-away!

Our cozy room, with queen bed, lovely linens, and spacious private bathroom with shower.

We have stayed at the Bright Morning Inn for our anniversary once before, and we are so pleased that the quaint, quiet and unique B&B is as welcoming as it has been in the past. The Innkeeper, Susan, has been most accommodating and kind to us for this special occasion. Our room is clean and cozy. The location, especially for Leaf Peepers, is second to none. And I can't wait for the delicious breakfast in the morning! My husband and I highly recommend a stay at this fine establishment.

The ABC. Bacon, apple, cheddar omelet with home fried. Delicious!

Fabulous bed and breakfast. Friendly staff, great breakfast/lunch, clean/cozy rooms, and walking distance to great bars and restaurants.

We had a great breakfast, virtual tour, and hike on the property. The new owners are so accommodating, we could not wait to come back and experience true mountain charm. So we immediately booked for the fall foliage. Guys they still had rooms and those rooms are gorgeous. We can't wait to return to mountain hospitality, with electric chargers (WV just doesn't have them)

This is a unique place to stay for a getaway in West Virginia. The Inn is located about 8 miles…read moredown a single-track, winding road, so it really feels off the grid. You look out your window at trees, forests, and ridges. The owners have created a warm, friendly environment, with many decorations that make for a rustic feel. Overall the Inn is a really nice place to stay, but here are a few things to consider: - The driveway is a lengthy (0.2-mile), gravel-covered, steep hill. We have an SUV and each time we went up the driveway our lights went on indicating unstable traction. Keep this in mind if you have a smaller vehicle or plan to go in the snowy months. - Breakfast is complimentary and dinner is provided for an additional fee ($30 per person per night and $45 on Saturdays). The food is delicious and all home-made. Ed is a fantastic chef - see many pics posted below. However, he makes a set amount of food per-person and there is no extra food. The first night we were there my wife and I had done a long hike in the afternoon and we were very hungry. Dinner was tasty but it was not enough food for us. When I asked if we could have more Ed said there was none. So consider your personal needs when thinking about meals. Since the Inn is so secluded, it is not easy to drive to a restaurant (20-30 minutes at least). - Breakfast is at 8am and dinner is at 7pm. This is a reasonable schedule for most people. My wife and I are early risers though and found ourselves up long before breakfast, so it ended up feeing like we had to wait around before starting our day (there is a coffee & tea station setup that you can go to at any time of day). Again, this will work for some people but not others. - The wifi is spotty. It's good enough to look up directions on Google maps but you can't stream a show or movie if that's your kind of thing to do on vacation. - There were a few extra charges that we didn't expect. For example, dinner Saturday night was $45 per person and Ed offered us wine with dinner (he is a sommelier and has a great selection). We were surprised to see that the wine was $15 per glass when we got our final bill at checkout. We could have asked of course, but we didn't think of it and Ed didn't mention it.
