The biggest problem with this ISP provider is that they have cornered the market for this area and have created a little monopoly for themselves. There is simply no other company you can get cable/internet from, at least not in the area we live in :/ I was warned there's no AT&T, no Time-Warner Cable, no Google, nothing but Brighthouse at our new digs. But I never knew this company would be such a hassle to deal with. Sales people are fake a f and annoying to boot. They are true salesmen of the worst kind. Very nice to your face, but slowly turning the knife in your back all the while they're selling their services. They're not cheap, either. We've had them out twice so far and the techs are simply put -inept because they CAN be. If you ask them any questions, they won't answer you...at all. They'll pretend they didn't hear you. Then they'll bring along someone they're training and show them where the box is located (basically), and nothing else. Then the tech will TRY to get your cable up and running but they won't understand why it won't get up and running! Lol! It's kind of comical really to watch a couple of back woods boys attempt to do their job, fail, and leave you to figure it out for yourself. Only you can't figure it out yourself because they didn't hook it up right. *sigh I never thought anyone could provide such poor service, but they do. The real problem is that they have a monopoly on this area, they know it, they know you don't have a choice, and they simply don't care. No contract with Brighthouse means I can cancel anytime. No stars, I had an appointment for service. The time was 10am to noon. But while I was in the shower I was called by the St Pete branch and was told my appt. was canceled becaused I did not answer the phone! Apparently a verbal contract isn't honored by Brighthouse. When I called them back they assured they would be over ASAP but what they did was scheduled me until 6pm. I waited until 5pm and canceled out, I had other commitments. The first contractor who came was an outside firm. He left and the TV stopped working. They sent out a Spectrum tech the next day and he said it was the box that needed to be plugged in correctly. He left and the T V stopped working. I told them it was the receiver. They sent out another tech the next day and he said the wires needed adjustment. He said he didn't carry receivers with him. He left and it stopped working. They sent out two techs the next day and it was the receiver that was bad along with incorrect splicing in the box in the wall. They also explained that the other techs had the remote programmed incorrectly. And they showed me how to use it properly. TV works. Customer service told me they do carry equipment with them. The internet stopped. It was a problem with equipment in a central location. It was out for a day. They don't know why my printer gets disconnected and needs to be shut off and then on again. The $89.97/month special deal doesn't include all of the extra charges. Receivers, taxes, fees, surcharges, etc. It adds up to much more than $89.97/month. Just to let you know. Terrible. I pay a huge sum of money for 150 MBPS internet. Brighthouse can barely deliver speeds of 30! Sometimes it drops to below 1.00 for no apparent reason! Get the absolute worse service from Brighthouse!!!! They stole money out of my account the representative said she was charging one amount and charged 400 plus to our account!!! When i called back they told me it would be refunded and proceeded to give me what she called a confirmation number only to find out that was a lie! called back 5 days later wondering why the refund did not show up and they asked me to send a fax of my bank records!!! As if this was my fault or my problem! I am a new customer had Verizon for 6 years and loved it!!! I have been a bright house customer for thirty years. Prices have more than doubled and service dwindled. If 29 days have passes without a payment they put a cheesy tag on my door without benefit of a single phone call. Unfortunately I had to give 1 star. So this has to be the worst company ever. To start things off on Sat the 27th I had an appointment scheduled between 4-6 the tech arrives late an then tells me he can't do the install because he can't find the wire running into the house. So I then ask to speak with his manager and he tells me that can't happen because he can't call his boss. I then call his dispatch company I wait on hold for 20 minutes she tells me she apologizes and they will have a supervisor out to my home on Sun today between 8-10 I then get a call today and they tell me he's running late and he should be here T 1230. Keep in mind yesterday when the scheduled the appointment they assured me it was a priority and he would be on time. So I then call Brighthouse and ask for my on time guarantee credit I was told they no longer offer that. So I tell them I need to be compensated for my time they offer me 20 sorry that not going to work. I request a supervisor she tells me it's 25.00 or nothing. I explained that I work from home and I'm not able to work because I don't have service. She tells me the techs are extremely overbook and they do there best. I advised her not my fault. I'm paying for a service that I can't use. I asked to have her manager call me back Tonya then advised me she's the highest person at Brighthouse. I asked again can you please have your manager call me she tells me it will be her peer. I said no your manager suddenly the call is dropped. Needless to say I will be call Frointer ASAP.
