Of course, they do a good job cleaning/polishing your teeth. For the most part, they are very good at diagnosing and fixing any dental problems. We've experienced times where we were billed for services covered by insurance, or received collection calls when bills were paid. While I like the practice, the main problem seems to be their billing department. I doubt they are doing anything on purpose, but it seems like billing isn't checking their work before sending out bills. We've argued charges several times now, and it is getting to the point where, if they don't get their act together, we may be forced to leave their practice.

Dr. Tatch is out of dental Network, and he was on vacation anyway, so I decided to check out a different (rather new) in-Network surgeon 3 miles from my home, and that guy gave me a page of "smoke and mirrors" with "big discounts" and a bunch of "IF"s and contingencies and additions, and that's before new implants, so I went to NorthShore Center for consultation anyway, and... OMG,.. I met Dr. Yost Smith, a very kind, patient, competent, intelligent, and detailed doctor, and I was so impressed that I scheduled my implants removal and bone graft right away for the next day, and - ready for this?.. - their plan/estimate was lower than the other so-called "in-Network" guy's. Next night something in my mouth woke me up - it was my 2 fused implants that fell out on their own. Dr. Smith was very skillful and patient answering my new questions, and he never charged me for implants removal, no games or questions asked. The staff has been always amazing for the last 20-25 years, but this time I met a dozen new associates who were very caring, friendly, and skillful. Wow, what a great experience! I came here for 3 wisdom teeth extraction and the appointment time and locations were messed up…read more Luckily they still saw me as I had pain in 2 of the 3 wisdom teeth. The front desk a little unorganized, the surgeon was nice and informative. I choose to stay awake for my extractions and glad I did, it's pressed on me how to focus on my healing. Care was 4 out of 5 - they are not in network for Delta Dental and make sure you confirm prescriptions are sent BEFORE you leave the office.

He stepped in during a very difficult and…read morecomplicated situation to help my dentist remove a two-decade-old implant crown from an implant system that has long been discontinued and is no longer commonly worked on. This was not a simple procedure. The crown and abutment were extremely difficult to remove, and there was uncertainty about what would be found underneath. Dr. Kakos was willing to take on a challenge that many others would not, working carefully and persistently to help preserve my existing implant rather than moving straight to removal. His kindness, confidence, and willingness to help made an incredibly stressful situation much easier to handle. Thanks to his expertise and determination, the implant was saved and I can move forward with the next stage of treatment. Frustrated of Unexpected Billing Charges. I believed that for every procedure they do, they should…read morehave a detailed explanation of the anticipated costs and on what does the insurance covers or not. But each time our family would undergo for a procedure, we get surprised of the bill and always being told it's our previous balance from the last procedure. This facility needs to be transparent to their patient especially on billing charges that was not informed before the procedure. We feel that we are being trapped on the situation. It gives us a financial burden. Not happy about it.

He has since seen another dentist who said that was nonsense. They did a great job convincing me I needed a night guard because I grind my teeth that cost me $400.00. I can't wear it at all due to discomfort and they would not issue me any refund. It's funny though because they told my husband he also needed one and he has sleep apnea so his mouth is open when he sleeps. I think they are scamming people into buying an expensive device they don't really need. Do NOT use this office!

My and my wife's long time dentist, Dr. Steven Theodosis, started to practice here in the last year…read moreor so.  There were various reasons for his recent move, but we have followed him pretty much wherever he goes, and it's been over about 25 years!  Needless to say, his care and maintenance of our dental health have been top-notch and over the years we have also been exposed to his network of excellent dental specialists as well.  He not only has a gentle touch, but his surgical work is excellent, and he clearly explains what he is doing as well.  On top of all of that, he's about as congenial a dentist as you'll ever meet.  And finally, let us not forget the staffers here. Angie is the office manager, and Josie her front desk assistant, and both are pleasant and helpful.  Rachel is their excellent full-time hygienist, also with a nice touch we have found.  Coreen and Alamera are the DA's we have encountered, and both have been helpful and communicative.   It's probably worth mentioning one other important aspect. We don't have dental insurance which is really not uncommon with retirees. I also haven't really checked around but this place is probably not the cheapest for dental services but we go with good experience. They do have an annual maintenance program offering that is a good deal if you decide to be a regular and that includes 20% off of services as well as two cleanings, two exams, and x-rays. Pro-tip:  Just don't call the office on Tuesdays as they are closed that day.  Thank you all for being there for us!

Which became believable based on how they manipulated my mouth during the cavity fillings. My lower lip was completely split from their manipulation. Lastly, Dr Zeno continued to state "we are almost done" throughout the entire appointment. When in actuality, there was more than an hour more left before he finished. Fast forward to today, I booked a cleaning appointment for 5/8 and was told it was booked for 6/8 instead. Waited 10 minutes in the lobby just to be told I couldn't be seen today. Today was the last time I will bother with their practice.

Everyone I interacted with was so nice and genuinely seemed to care about my experience. They are thorough with their work and take the extra time to really explain things to you - both about your mouth and your billing. Insurance can be tricky and I've had issues with other offices not being transparent about pricing, but not here. They went above and beyond when I was accidentally giving them the wrong insurance information too. I'm looking forward to coming here for years to come for my oral health needs!!
