With medical and dental visits, I find that the visit is always either wonderful or horrible. Hard to have an average experience. It turns out, my husband was right, and Dr. Goel was on the wonderful side. I've been to Avid Dental twice now and each visit has been pleasant, painless, efficient, and comfortable. The staff at Avid always greets me with a smile as soon as I walk in and I've never had to wait more than 3 minutes to be seen. They've been very accommodating any time I've had to reschedule an appointment or change the time last minute. Even better, they take evening appointments on certain days so I don't have to disrupt my work day. The hygienists are skilled and are great about getting me set in the room and taking my x-rays. Dr. Goel is clearly a dentist who knows her stuff. She's very thorough and really takes her time during her examination. You never feel rushed by her and she is always happy to answer any questions you might have. She offers so many services and really went out of her way to help me fix my smile through some filings and whitening treatments to get me ready for my wedding last month. My husband has had a few different types of services from Avid over the years and each one has always gone perfectly smooth. More importantly, Dr. Goel's friendly demeanor helps put you instantly at ease. She remembers you personally and you feel like she truly cares about your well being. This office is perfect for patients of all ages and teeth types - whether you're going just for a standard cleaning or if you need some heavy duty root canals, I would strongly recommend Avid for any dental scenario. The only tough part is making the trek out from downtown to Mt. Prospect (though there is an awesome Thai restaurant near the practice that makes me not really mind the drive at all). My husband works in that area so it's easy for him. But Dr. Goel mentioned she has a downtown location that is just 2 blocks from my office so I will be trying out that one soon.

I had a cavity under a crown and ended up needing a replacement. Bahu walked me through the procedure, identified a lingering infection and attached the crown with care. He continued to follow my care closely and prep me for my impending implant surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Bahu. He is honest with his pricing and truly wants to help his patients. DO NOT BOTHER. I…read morewent to see Dr. Bahu last year for a regular checkup and was not in any dental pain prior to my visit. I was diagnosed with a couple cavities. The dentist never made me aware of any downside to filling cavities and assured me there was no risk. I went ahead and filled 7 of them in one appointment. The entire staff in this office is so unprofessional with the most bizarre bedside manner (or lack of). After my fillings, I had insane sensitivity all over the areas I had treated. I went back to the dentist about this and all he said was my tooth was "bruised" and this would resolve in a week and he attempted to grind down the fillings. The pain did not subside, and I was unable to chew solid food on that side my mouth for months (until I had intervention from another doctor). In one tooth, one of the fillings chipped not even a year later. I then found out, again at another office, the hole that was drilled was much bigger than needed and left an exposed nerve. I had to have a ROOT CANAL done to fix the damage that this dentist has caused me. This all came at an out of pocket cost. I also asked a dentist who I know personally to take a look at the x-rays of the teeth I did have work done at Dr. Bahu's office, and they informed me a few were superficial and likely did not need to be filled, just monitored. I will also note that the staff is not well-versed in medical billing, quoting me different values multiple times (this has never happened to me elsewhere). Upon my first visit, the tech did not turn the machine on to do my x-rays and I had to waste my time to redo all of those all over again. Everyone here is unprofessional, and if you care about your dental health, your time, and how you spend your money - DO NOT COME HERE. There are other dental offices in this city that will not do you dirty like this. Avoid this scammy office. Coming here was a big mistake, not just financially, but a huge waste of time.

If you start researching tongue ties chances are you'll come across Dr. Geivelis because he's…read moreextremely well known in the "tongue tie" field. I didn't realize my kids had them as babies so he took care of 2 out of 3 of them when they were older (11 and 7 years olds). He referred my middle to an ENT by the name of Dr. Walner since he needed his adenoids out at the same time. Dr. Geivelis is so well known for this that there's an extremely large waitlist, especially if you want to get it done with anesthesia, which I personally think is a must for anyone who isn't a baby. It took about 8 months to get in from initial appointment for the actual procedure. Lori from Dr. G's office does a great job of keeping you informed along the way with everything from billing, preparing for surgery, meds to take after, etc. I think it's way easier for babies, but this is quite the ordeal if you have the procedure as an older child or an adult. First we spent months in myofunctional speech therapy to prepare for the procedure. The procedure day is far from fun, but I think mostly because my kids woke up really upset from the anesthesia. From there it's a few days of discomfort and after 3 days they are feeling back to normal. However, you're required to do a series of stretches so that the lip/tongue doesn't reattached at least 4 times a day. The kids get used to them after a few days, but my husband and I found them to be a huge pain...especially in the middle of the school day. The main reason we went ahead with the procedure was because all 3 of my kids are/were in speech therapy. I did see a difference right away in my middle son who went to Dr. Walner (we found that recovery to be way easier too). He was actually released from years of speech therapy the very next week. I haven't noticed as much of a difference with my daughter who had the procedure done over a year ago with Dr. G. And my youngest is who I was hoping to notice the biggest difference. He's also in the middle of years of expansion with Dr. Boyd, who Dr. G tends to work very closely with. It's been a few months since the procedure and we can definitely tell a difference (as can his speech therapists- both private and thru school) since he's able to produce clearer sounds now that he has more movement of his tongue. Overall, I"m glad we did it and found Dr. G to be warm and informative. If going the pediatric dentist route (over an ENT) I would definitely recommend him.
