My husband and I were patients of Dr. Bahu and his team for the past 4 years. Dr. Bahu was so detail oriented, anxiety relieving, knowledgeable and personable. I had a cavity under a crown and ended up needing a replacement. Bahu walked me through the procedure, identified a lingering infection and attached the crown with care. My tooth at the time was very small due to decay and didn't fit the first crown well. Dr. Bahu didn't charge me for the new crown or fitting. He continued to follow my care closely and prep me for my impending implant surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Bahu. He is honest with his pricing and truly wants to help his patients. DO NOT BOTHER. I went to see Dr. Bahu last year for a regular checkup and was not in any dental pain prior to my visit. I was diagnosed with a couple cavities. The dentist never made me aware of any downside to filling cavities and assured me there was no risk. I went ahead and filled 7 of them in one appointment. The entire staff in this office is so unprofessional with the most bizarre bedside manner (or lack of). After my fillings, I had insane sensitivity all over the areas I had treated. I went back to the dentist about this and all he said was my tooth was "bruised" and this would resolve in a week and he attempted to grind down the fillings. The pain did not subside, and I was unable to chew solid food on that side my mouth for months (until I had intervention from another doctor). In one tooth, one of the fillings chipped not even a year later. I then found out, again at another office, the hole that was drilled was much bigger than needed and left an exposed nerve. I had to have a ROOT CANAL done to fix the damage that this dentist has caused me. This all came at an out of pocket cost. I also asked a dentist who I know personally to take a look at the x-rays of the teeth I did have work done at Dr. Bahu's office, and they informed me a few were superficial and likely did not need to be filled, just monitored. I will also note that the staff is not well-versed in medical billing, quoting me different values multiple times (this has never happened to me elsewhere). Upon my first visit, the tech did not turn the machine on to do my x-rays and I had to waste my time to redo all of those all over again. Everyone here is unprofessional, and if you care about your dental health, your time, and how you spend your money - DO NOT COME HERE. The absolute worst dental experience I've ever had. Do not go here unless you want to be scammed. I saw Dr. Bahu back in February, but have been waiting to write this review until I got a second opinion. I had moved to Chicago recently and wanted to find a new regular dentist. I went in for a cleaning, not expecting any serious issues. Dr. Bahu told me that I had 8 cavities, as well as severe gum recession. In total he told me I needed to get all 8 cavities filled, go for a consultation with a gum surgeon, and have surgery to fix my gums. For reference I have NEVER had a cavity before and no dentist had ever mentioned an issue with my gums. I brought up these questions and concerns to Dr. Bahu and he implied that my previous dentist was uneducated and unskilled since he was from a "small town" (Keep in mind, the town i previously lived in was no Chicago, but was by no means small). I decided to get a second opinion however due to Covid was not able to go until this week. I saw a new dentist who looked over my teeth and requested the X rays that Dr. Bahu's office has taken. My new dentist informed me that I had ZERO cavities and that my gum recession was very minor and not cause for concern. I cannot speak to Dr. Bahu's motives, but if I had to guess, he saw a 22 year old who had moved to a big city for the first time and figured he could take advantage. I had concern with one tooth and the doctor found 5 teeth with cavities. After the procedure, he found additional 2 cavities that 'can't see from X-ray' and charged me for two more treatments without informing me during the procedure. The worst thing is I got SERIOUS sensitivity on the tooth I had problem with at the beginning. Seems his procedure made my tooth worse! I have been seeing this office for a year and a half, since moving from LA. 1st off I wish I was offered a glass of wine because I think that's an excellent idea considering that 99% of people are very anxious about going to the dentist. The dental hygienist, (I'm so sorry that I'm drawing a blank on her name), but she is the BEST!! I have had panic attacks virtually every time i've seen a dentist going back to when I was a child. After my 1st visit to this office the sweetest, most efficient, careful hygienist totally annihilated any and all of my fears about going the dentist. I just felt safe and she has taken my teeth from a pretty bad state with deep gum pockets to healthy teeth and my gums are now within normal range. Dr Bahu is great. Nice guy, and with the help of Invisalign my mildly crooked teeth with a couple large spaces in between a few of them are prefect. I've not felt pressured ever. There was only 1 time with one of the assistants where I felt she wasn't that capable and a bit blah, but haven't seen her in a while. Staff: Beyond sweet and professional, everyone in there genuinely seems to care and take care of you. Also, never even once have I ever waited more than a minute to be seen. So... If you feel pressured it might be you allowing yourself to be. He makes suggestions and you either say yes or nope, not for me... So that's my 18 cents. read more

I'm very disappointed as this guy is just completely money hungry and his office is unorganized. I've seen Dr. Bahu twice. After my first visit with him I was called by my insurance company (BCBS) and told he was not in their network. I had checked before going to my appointment and was told he was in the network. There was clearly a misunderstanding between Bahu and the insurance company. The bill for scaling and cleaning was totally astronomical ($3,800). I was told my portion was $500 something and I paid it right away. There was however an issue he had with the insurance company I'm not sure what it was. At the end of the year, almost 10 months later he sends me another bill for $150. By then I had exhausted my medical funds for the current year. I cannot pay last years bills with the new current year funds so I would have to come out of pocket. Had he had his practices together upon the initial visit over ten months prior, he would have been paid in full. I told him I would pay it at my next appointment. I had (3) appointments scheduled THAT HE RESCHEDULED. I was prepared on three separate occasions to pay him the $150 but the appointments were canceled. Some of the cancellations were due to Covid shutdowns. I was going return to the dentist, pay my balance and complete my dental work then I learned this cheap nitty dentist has sent my account to a collection agency and this little $150 bill is on my credit report. I felt this was unfair because HE canceled the appointments, not me. Dr. Bahu is a pretty good dentist but he is purely money hungry and insensitive to the needs of his patients. I would strongly recommend going to another dentist. I went to Dr. Bahu for a year back in 2013. I never had a cavity in my life and he diagnosed me with several microscopic cavities. I let him fill them (though I regret it now). At a subsequent appointment, he found a few more. That's when I decided to get a second opinion and found a new dentist who says I did not have any cavities. Four years later, I still don't have any cavities. The office is very well-run and everyone is nice. However, I don't agree with his philosophy of filling every tiny spec that could one day turn into a cavity. I wonder whether it is more about profiting from patients and insurance companies than doing what is best for patients. I do have to say, without hesitation, that the negative reviews below are crap. Dr. Bahu is the nicest dentist I've had in a long while. I hate going to the dentist because I always have teeth problems. I called Dr. Bahu in a panic because I was having excruciating pain in my upper left back molar. They got me in immediately to check it out. I came through the office door, the took my coat and offered me a beverage--once I got to the dreaded chair...my hygienist could tell I was nervous...she took my photo (for their records) and put paraffin wax on my hands! Please and thank you!!! This seriously helped calm my nerves. On top of that, she was cautious to ask how things were feeling as she was going along. She was honest, and patient and didn't make me feel bad for not going to the dentist in a while...instead she explained the importance of routine dental cleanings and even showed me an informational video on periodontal disease. Many of my dentists in the past have lectured me and made me feel like I was the only one in the world not going to my 6 mo cleanings... Once I met Dr. Bahu he took a look at my molar, and gave me an analysis of what he thought was going on...he wanted me to get a second opinion from an endodontist, and I did. Turns out Ramy was right...it was cracked..bad...so we were going to try a temp crown and maybe have to get a root canal. At worst, extract it. Long story short, I went through all sorts of uncomfortable junk that Dr. Bahu was super awesome about...listened to me babble when I was worried, reassured me that the pain would be over soon...and worked carefully in my mouth with Tuba. This is just one thing off my long list of teeth issues...I appreciate Dr. Bahu's sincerity and concern regarding my teeth. His staff is amazing---I was practically in tears looking over the numbers for the cavities and temp crown...blah blah blah...and they helped me finance it through Chase... Seriously--I could babble on and on about his office. I'll refer him to anyone I know who is looking for a dentist...and as long as I'm Chicago, I'll stick with him. Who else is awesome enough to find time for me (even when he's booked all day) and not try and rush me out the door when I have concerns. PS. I would give a zero if I could. Dr. Bahu told me I needed $4000 worth of dental work - 9 cavities, periodontal disease, "sealants" etc.... I left confused and in tears. I was inundated prior to and after the appointment with text messages, emails, and even a few phone calls. After getting a second opinion, I discovered that there was NOTHING wrong with my teeth - actually I have a grinding problem which I previously knew about but Dr. Bahu did not diagnose or find. The second doctor went through Dr. Bahu's treatment plan line item by line item and thoroughly explained to me and showed me how/why I did not have any of those problems. It was shocking, and frightening... how can someone lie to their patients like that! Dr. Bahu was suggesting, in addition to the above problems, that I get sealant put on my teeth, which is apparently only done to children to protect healthy teeth. After learning what really transpired from my research and the second opinion, it all made sense. The hygienist who did my exam initially did not find all of those problems, but then Dr. Bahu came in and re-did the exam by pushing the probing tool painfully into my gums. It didn't hurt when the hygienist did it and it didn't hurt when my second dentist did it, but Dr. Bahu did that to make it seem like I had periodontal disease. I could go on but... suffice it to say that the whole thing was ridiculous. And the assistant was horrible at doing the x-rays! I was gagging and nearly had what must have been a panic attack. I was looking for a new dentist in Chicago and knew that the dentists in this location tend to be excellent. I found Ramy Bahu on the list and made an appointment to see him. His office is clean, bright and modern. I was initially nervous about seeing dentists because of bad prior experiences. However, my appointment with Dr. Bahu could not have gone any better. First of all, he has invested in the most modern medical equipment and devices. I was also thrilled that I was able to get dental X-rays taken and have the results developed and read while I was still in the office. I was shown a videos about common dental problems and the doctor was able to show me my X-rays and discuss the issues with me. I needed a filling replaced and he has time to do it that day so that I did not have to make a separate appointment. The finance folks were great. They have a private office where they can provide a detailed estimate of the work needed and allow you to decide what fits your budget and timeframe. It was very convenient and I did not have to worry about the shock of a huge surprise bill showing up in the mail. Just to be clear, his services are not cheap. But I don't mind paying more knowing that a doctor is investing in the type of technology that will make my appointment go much better. Other great features are the appointment emails and text reminders. It is a brilliant way to keep in touch with patients when everyone is so busy and on the go. Due to an insurance change, Dr. Bahu is no longer in my network. I like him enough to go out of my network and pay the cost out of pocket to see him. If you are looking for a professional, advanced and thoughtful dentist, this is your guy. read more

Ramy Bahu is a dishonest dentist. He is not interested in his patients health. He is only interested in how much money he can make off of them. I was suspicious of my diagnosis of several cavities and the procedures he recommended. I got a second opinion and found that I had no cavities at all. Bahu actually said that the special light he uses showed that I might have a cavities inside, but wouldn't know until he drilled in. What kind of dentist recommends something so ridiculous? He is irresponsible and unethical. I will be reporting him to the better business bureau. Also, he serves wine to his patients to impair their judgment. I think this has to be illegal. This is a scam artist's office. Bahu is a capable dentist (hence the 2 stars) who consistently provides underbid estimates prior to doing dental work. The estimates they give are low but the final billings are extremely high. After having work done, Dr. Bahu's office follows up without fail and demands hundreds more dollars, at least. Heed all the Yelp reviews. Dr Bahu's office has done this scam to me and friends who went there 4 times so far. My fiancée went here in 2013 and was told that she had 6 cavities, when she didn't have any pain and had only had maybe 1 cavity as a child. Dr Bahu filled those cavities (while trying to upsell her on Invisalign because "she might get married soon"). She was charged $1500, for which insurance paid most of it and she paid the remainder. Dr Bahu's office claimed that the insurance company never paid (although they did) and forced my fiancée to pay the bill twice to avoid going to collections. I do not agree with the negative reviews and question the reality of those writing the reviews.Visiting the dentist is typically an unpleasant experience for most people; offering a glass of wine to calm one's nerves before a cleaning is not abnormal. I came to see Dr. Bahu after I ignored a toothache that ultimately resulted in a root canal. Every process of the experience starting with the initial call was beyond my high service level expectations. Judy, Tuba, Laura and Dr. Bahu are all amazing!! I too received a long list of recommended dental work in excess of $15,000; the recommended work was/is all necessary. I was never pressured to pursue the options immediately it was presented as a treatment plan for the future health of my mouth. I can definitely attest that every single negative review is true! I went there for a checkup and was told that I had 9 cavities, stage 2 periodontal disease, needed sealants on all of my teeth and that this would all cost $5,000! Huh? Because I knew I could not afford this I decided to go to UIC's dental school for the work. After checking my teeth the student immediately asked me who told me that I had 9 cavities and periodontal disease. When I responded he told me that not only did I have ZERO cavities but that at best I had moderate gingivitis which is not nearly as serious as stage 2 periodontal. 13 YEAR PATIENT DISSED!!! I have been going to Bahu for years and only recently had issues. It started when my husband(hates going to the dentist btw) gets to his Sat apt in a blizzard all of the way from Chicago/O'Hare area to find out they had cancelled his apt! Mind you, they request $50 deposit for Sat apt and you had better not cancel due to $100 fee! We were so upset and never got apologized to. THEY SHOULD HAVE PAID US$100 FEE!!! THEN I continue mainly because dental hygienist LAURA IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD!!! I have a side upper tooth that grew out of alignment with my other perfectly straight teeth and when I smile wide looks like I have a missing tooth! I told him many times my last dentist actually added white filling FOR FREE out of kindness to build up the tooth. IT STAYED PUT FOR 15 yrs!!! It finally came out and Dr Bahu said a filling won't hold and a crown would be best( and most expensive) 2nd would be a veneer for 1k. I went with the veneer for 1k and IT CAME OUT IN ONE MONTH!! He was at least nice enough to do it again. IT CAME OUT IN 3 DAYS!!! I was so disappointed because I was soo hopeful and literally BROKEN-HEARTED AT MY APPEARANCE!! he said he wouldn't do anything else unless I paid for it crown or even a filling my last dentist put on for FREE! Just so I'd have a pretty smile! NO WAY NOT HERE!! So I did nothing and was out 1k. LAST we had a dispute where is receptionist called the day of to say I had an apt and I didn't and I GOT SLAPPED WITH $100 FEE!!! This was the 1st in 13YEARS!! Dr was insisting I pay it!! AFTER ALL THAT I HAD BEEN THROUGH!!!??? I WAS HORRIFIED AND SHOCKED!!! The office called 3 weeks ago telling me that the staff was leaving early for Thanksgiving and can I come at 6pm instead? I made arrangements with my boss to leave early which was not easy. It was weird again that I got no confirmation call on the apt so I called. She said the apt was at 5:50pm but no problem if I come around 6. Then she tells me in order to be seen I would hav to pay this $100 fee for cancelling!! EVEN THOUGH THEY'VE CANCELLED AND CHANGED ON MY HUSBAND AND I AND AFTER $1000 BOTCHED VENEER!!! I kindly asked to see the dr and he was super rude and dismissive saying that I have cancelled and been late in the past which was UNTRUE and furthermore said I DIDNT HAVE EVEN THIS APT YESTERDAY!!!! I said yes I did,and they changed the time to 6 AND I called 1 1/2 hours ago and confirmed. He kept arguing and I showed him a picture of me with my missing veneer and said LOOK AT THIS!! I especially love the dental hygienist that works in his office Laura. Going twice a year for cleanings helps me to stay on top of any further problems. I went to Dr. Bahu years ago, like 15 right - He was my dentist for like 3 years, no issues with my teeth. I have great teeth. All of a sudden, during a regular visit, he tells me I need a root canal!!! And I needed to pay $700 immediately and then make the appointment!!! LUDICROUS! I found another fabulous dentist and IMMEDIATELY she said he was a liar! She even showed my x-rays to her partner at the Dental office and they were both stunned. I had not one problem with my teeth! I stopped going to him IMMEDIATELY! Always get a second opinion people. You will get regular check ups with Bahu and even a hand parafim wax while you get your teeth cleanned but rest assure, you will get the wammy pulled on you no sooner than you can spit in the dental chair. I was very surprised by some of these reviews and feel compelled to write something. Dr. Bahu has been my dentist for nearly 8 years. His office staff is fantastic and very caring. The offices are very high tech and immaculate. Every experience I have had (routine cleanings, two cavities, a root canal and a night guard for grinding my teeth) has been positive. The staff always presents me with and estimate - not a bill - for any work I need done. They also clearly indicate what they believe is necessary and what is simply a recommendation. The estimates have never been excessive and I have never felt pressure to do any of the "recommended" services. I did have my teeth deep cleaned (gum cleaning) twice at their recommendation and my gums actually stopped bleeding as a result! Dr. Bahu is extremely professional and seems like a very nice guy. I called when I was having a very bad tooth ache and they made room for me the same day. I ended up needing a root canal that the office scheduled for me in very short time and around my schedule. Dr. Bahu personally called me to follow up after my root canal. I think it's a very nice touch. He asked if I was in any pain or experiencing and type of discomfort (I had neither). All my tooth pain went away after the root canal and it healed quickly. They send emails about every 6 months or so to remind you that it's a good idea to have your teeth cleaned twice a year. I need the reminder so I welcome it. The office location is great and easy to get to since I work in the loop. I highly recommend this practice and will continue to go until the guy retires - I think he is great. read more

He found issues during my first visit that previous Dentist had not found during years of visits. He has very modern equipment and oral testings. I have always taken care of my teeth even when I didn't have dental insurance, so I have experience with quite a few dentists. I have to say that Dr. Bahu and his staff are some the nicest and accomodating people I have met. I have a ZERO tolerance for pain and every experience, from x-rays to a root canal have not hurt!!! Went to this practice once when I moved to Chicago. Since I was a kid, I have always been to the dentist twice a year. I've only had 1 cavity in my lifetime, but somehow Dr. Bahu claimed I had 8 cavities that day and that I needed $5,000 in dental work AFTER insurance coverage. I got another opinion from a different dentist following that visit. Needless to say, I was assured that my teeth were fine, and every single procedure Dr. Bahu recommended was completely unnecessary. Dr Bahu is part of the problem that a growing number of practices suffer from. They have taken focus off the patient and redirected it to the business side. I don't have an issue with a health professional trying to run a profitable business, but when it comes at the cost of scamming patients into paying for unnecessary procedures, that crosses the line. The second star is for the hygenists who do a good job. They are all polite and do their jobs quickly and efficiently. I don't care much for the cashiers, who seem to bicker at each other just a little too often. They also try to sell the multi-thousand dollar procedures that you don't need. I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. Bahu pays them commission. If you insist on trying him out, the best advice I would give is not to let the expensive office space and picture-esque views of the skyline trick you into believing that this guy is an elite dentist who will give you expert advice. Beautiful office. Everyone is nice at first. However, there is a huge emphasis on upselling over the patient experience. It's almost to the point of berating. They are not transparent on charges and they often change from one conversation to the next. When I had questions regarding what insurance would be covering versus my co-pay, as the amount had changed 3x at this point, I sat in the waiting room while over hearing the dentist angrily talking to his receptionist about how she needed to get the payment in full today regardless of my concerns, all while I was within earshot in the lobby. Incredibly unprofessional. There's just something disingenuous about the entire staff. More of a cosmetic dentist than one interested in improving dental health or helping patients with pain. In the end, you can brush your teeth 4 times a day, floss twice a day and then drench your teeth in anti-biotic serum and this guy will still spot a good 10 or so cavities magically in your teeth, then push you in a room with a salespitch to pay 3-4 thousand dollars out of pocket for some kind of magical all-healing tooth/gum treatment. Here's my story... I opted to try Dr. Bahu out from a previous GOOD dentist due to the fact that I live so far away from him. Boy, does it teach me that distance shouldn't separate a great relationship. :\ I came in for a cleaning and immediately after coming through the door, I was offered some wine for my wait. I'm not sure why this dentistry offers wine. Perhaps they want a challenge in teeth cleaning after a nice wash of wine to stain them a bit or perhaps they want to get their patients drunk enough to do whatever they want them to do. After declining alcohol, they handed me a form to write through, 50% of it focusing particularly on consenting to specialized treatments and check ups for possible mouth cancers that "may not be covered by your insurance". After declining these offers, I was whisk into a dental room, where the nurse took a picture of me for "records" (creeeeepy...). After the cleaning, they informed me that I was suffering from some kind of gum decay that needed treatment as soon as possible. They brought in a contract I had to sign noting that I acknowledge that they spotted some gum decay for their "records" again. (I wonder loudly why this doctor needs so many forms of business security for their "records", why do they obsessively need to make sure that their patients can't sue them? Hmmm...) Bahu then came in and addressed the very same concerns to me about my gums, and then spotted his typical 10 or so cavities in an individual. He noted that because of the futuristic technology he has and his own self-genius that he is able to spot all these cavities that most other dentists can't possibly... I can only assume what came next... a salespitch for specialized treatment for scaling and sealants that would amount to thousands of dollars out of my own pocket, not covered by insurance. Just to note, previous GOOD dentist obviously didn't find all my teeth riddled with cavities like Bahu did. There is a little bit of good from it, the nurses and clean up portion was quick and mostly painless with a huge consistency of "my comfort" involved in almost an incredibly unnatural manner, as if they were desperate. It was kind of set up alot like a timeshare thing that comes with free food. All-in-All, this guy plays by the script that everyone has noted on Yelp. It seems his practice is bent on this expensive treatment for literally everyone that goes to him. For that, I would recomend a dentist that is more interested in dentistry and less interested in being a sleazy businessman. read more

Dr. Bahu is very friendly and kind, as is his staff. Have gone to this office several times for cleanings and fillings and all the work is great. His office has all the latest equipment and both he and his staff try really hard to make the experience as painless as possible. They truly want you to be pleased and comfortable with their work and offer for you to come back for free in within a reasonable time frame if you need your fillings or other dental work to be modified for comfort. The facility is extremely clean and the views of downtown Chicago from the chair are lovely. I was worried about cost when offered parafin wax for my hands on the first visit, but with insurance the cost is very reasonable and on par with other dentists in the city. I plan to keep going here for dental work and would recommend to anyone looking for a dentist in the Gold Coast/River North/Streeterville area. As far as dental work goes, Dr. Bahu's office offers a great experience. read more

Hello Yelp I am giving this location ZERO STARS... so disappointing. This location is located in the Water tower building in downtown Chicago... you would think Dr. Bahu and his staff would be much more professional. Let me share - I was referred by 1 800 dentist, I am new to Chicago from LA and I am terrified of the dentist while making my appointment she offered me wine. Because I shared I had a great dentist in LA, and now I am starting over after 25years. So apparently this dentist offers wine to calm nerves... are you kidding me, and I don't drink.... during the arrival you sign your life away, and they try to sell you on oral exams you don't need without giving you and x-ray 1st... Next I was told you are going to have x-rays, and a cleaning before the doctor will see you. I was surprised about the cleaning before a consultation from Dr Ramy Bahu, but I decided to go for it since I needed it. Before the cleaning she took a picture of me which was crazy, i did not understand this, it was weird, then I became even more uncomfortable. After the picture was taken the staff member that checked me in came back to tell me I needed to sign the oral exam for $75.00 that the patient would be responsible for... When I refused, she looked like I had committed a crime. I turned to another staff member and said "I want you to know I am already uncomfortable and we have not started any dental services yet" She did a minor cleaning, and started talking to me about gum disease and how loose my crown was, which is why I was there in the first place? The X-ray and cleaning lasted 1hour... In walks Dr Ramy Bahu he is not personable at all, no personality, it was strange because I was told... I would feel good, that this office has a way with new vistors , comments from 1800 dentist; if this office knows you are afraid of going to the dentist, the staff will make you feel good...not true. The only person I would give any credit to is the staff member that did my X-rays and cleaning, and I apologizes because I can not remember her name. Next - I was placed in a room and given a bill for $11,000.00.... that's right 11,000. eleven thousand $$$$. I want all of you to know I have great teeth I see my doctor every year however with the move her to Chicago I have not seen the dentist in over 1 year 1/2. And I new I had 2 cavities, and a loose Bridge after 8 years the bridge has became undone just in the last 3 weeks, and I also knew I needed a cleaning. I was so out done ... when the staff member shared my total plan with me, plus my insurance, OH and my TOTAL was after my INSURANCE Coverage. I explained to her I wanted to research other doctors in CHICAGO first before I give Aesthetic Reconstructive - Dr. Ramy Bahu DDS this kind of payment. The first staff member, suggested I speak to another staff member who could help me make a plan because she did not have the authority to change my cost. Ten minutes later another staff member walks in and she explained to me she was not there to wheel and deal, and it would not be fair to her other patience if she did this..... I could not believe what I was hearing... I wanted so much to tell her OFF, and inform her that I could pay this and more.... If I wanted TOO... However YELP Readers somethings are better left unsaid.... Be careful because of fraud your SS# and your Date of Birth is placed on the Treatment Plan they print out for you, plus this office has a picture of you, this is spooky... lets not forget you signing your life away during the first visit.... It feels like they are trying to cover themselves from law, be careful this office is not up to date with the times. Overall this is not a good practice save your time and energy. Especially for professional people, I was there 2 1/2 hours. just disappointing. I'm getting married this weekend, so yesterday I went to Dr. Ramy Bahu for a cleaning, which I haven't had in awhile. My husband has been going to him for a couple years, and in general seems to like him. When I got there, the receptionist was really friendly, and actually offered me a glass of wine while I filled out the paperwork. (which should have been a red flag right there--seriously, wine at a dentist's office?) The hygenist was nice too, and did a decent enough cleaning. She was also quick and relatively painless with the x-rays. But then the Dr. Ramy himself came in. Now, I know that I have a number of issues that need seeing to. I didn't know that the most urgent of these was getting a new crown on my front tooth, not because there was a problem with the current one, but because the porcelain is discolored (and has been for the last 21 years.) I also didn't know that I needed to schedule a consult with a gum specialist, because I have excess gum tissue growing over the tops of my teeth that should be surgically removed. Not for oral health reasons, mind you, but because this excess tissue makes my teeth look short. Which is bad. If I take care of these two issues, spending thousands of out of pocket dollars and who knows how many appointments, then I'll feel better about myself and smile more and not make mean faces so often. He didn't seem to understand that I was coming to him for medical treatment, not cosmetic fixes for things I had never known were problems in the first place. When he finally did get around to the medical issues, I was astounded at how many there were--cavities galore, plus periodontal disease and who knows what else. Everything way beyond my budget, and he seemed unwilling to prioritize. Plus, he wanted to redo half the fillings that I already had. I left without booking a follow up appointment. Then this morning, I get an email and a text from his office. Not to follow up on my appointment, not even anything related to dental work, but to let me know about a special they're offering--for botox treatments! Seriously, who the hell does this guy think he is?! This is like going in for a physical and the doctor spending the whole time telling you you need liposuction--not for health reasons, but because you'll feel better about yourself. I couldn't agree more with the negative reviews below. I was recommended to go to this dentist from 1-800-Dentist and I was told that I had about 10-12 cavities, needed sealants on others, and it would cost me about $1400 out of pocket, not including the portion from the dental insurance. After reading similar reviews on different websites, I drove out of town to my long time dentist who I've been going to for 10+ years and without telling him of my prior experience, he completed a full oral exam and said I did not have any cavities and needed no extra work done. While Dr. Bahu and his staff were very friendly and kind, the mis-diagnosis and recommendation for all of that mouth work seems like a scam. Definitely keep track of your bill. I had a $300 credit which Dr.Bahu refused to refund. He called me a said I only had a $75 credit because of a cleaning in which I only had one this year and my insurance always pays in full. Then the receptionist said I had an unpaid invisalign bill. My invisalign was paid in full by care credit and if I did have an outstanding bill why would you wait 2 years to tell me. Before I got any service the receptionist would always call my insurance and tell me how much I would have to pay out of pocket at the end of service all the time. When I said this to her she said that she was only doing what she was told to do. When I told Dr.Bahu this he replied how do I know this! I wound up getting a $219 refund only after my dentist who works in the office got involved because she knew he owed me $300. I will definitely be going over my ledger to see how much money he has cheated me out in the past. read more

This was my first visit with Dr.Bahu. I received a very comfortable welcome. The ombiance is outstanding. The dental assistants were warm and friendly. I even received a parafin wax to ease my nerves. I have never know a dentist to be so in tune that he would go to the extent of a parafin wax for my hands. I also understand that this is a regular part of the visits. Dr. Bahu took the time to explain everything to me regarding my needs. He answered all of my questions and guess what...he didin't rush me. I received a thank you note as well as a follow up call. He definitely gets a gold star as well as his staff. read more
