MACADAMIA CRUSTED FRESH MAHI MAHI
Rustin L.

Met up with some good friends, a long overdue reunion. This spot was less than a mile from our hotel (Del Mar Beach Hotel) and another friend recommended, so we decided on meeting here. Everyone really enjoyed their entrees. We had a huge lunch so we weren't super hungry for appetizers. Drinks weren't the best but we weren't really there to drink a lot anyway. The thing that made it memorable was the great view. We requested "outdoor" seating which I guess means indoor by the window for them. Not complaining however, since it was a little chilly at buggy and our view was great. In one shot, we could get a super closeup view of the water, the Del Mar fair, the race track and a train going through! Where else are you going to see that? All in all an enjoyable time with good friends and good food. Valet parking only it seems. I parked on the street which is basically the same or more, so valet is worth it.

What a delightful setting! I've eaten at the Brig many times in La Mesa and Poway. The food is delicious and the service friendly across locations. The view at this one is extraordinary. The on-site valet makes parking a breeze. Thrilled I came.

Handicapping @ the Brig. #delmar

A little handicapping at the Brig never hurt anyone... Early start to the weekend. Our pony won Race 1, bailed to watch the rest of the races at the Brigantine. Kettle up, shaken, olives. Perfection. Ice cold. Always love the service at the bar and the best view in horse racing off track. I always get the same things and they are always great: Brig Shrimp Cocktail, Coctel Del Mar, Blackened Ahi Sashimi. Race 6 coming up bye!

Came here for a company dinner last year and it was amazing. We had a private area that was to the side for ourselves with a great view, and the food and cocktails were amazing. Service was very good too! I got their special of the day which was a sea bass with scallops and OMG, this dish the envy of everyone. It tasted as good as it looked.

The Brigantine was the best. The manager was Gabe was extremely kind. Its popular for a reason! I definitely recommend it.

I always enjoy trying seafood restaurants. For dinner, we sat at the front patio and had oysters on the half shell and calamari for appetizers, with a dirty martini. Blue cheese olives are always a plus! I debated between ordering the macadamia crusted mahi mahi and the wok-charred ahi, which my friend had. The mahi mahi was good but will get the ahi next time. I've heard great things about their happy hour, so will stop by next time I'm in the area. And I hope to sit inside or on the back patio, as I didn't feel the atmosphere described in other reviews.

BRIG CLASSIC CALAMARI STRIPS, Wagyu Slider in the back

Happy Hour at the Brigantine is SOOO WORTH IT!! For a party of 4 we ordered just about one of everything on the HH menu and majority of it was delicious! We got 2 Wagyu Sliders which come with fries, Calamari, Artichoke Fritters, Shrimp Cocktail, Clam Chowder, half dozen Oysters, Potato Skins, and Nachos with added Chicken. It was definitely enough food and we ended up taking the Nachos home as leftovers. Next time though, I feel like I'd skip on the Nachos and the Potato Skins. Usually I like both of these dishes but here the Nachos are pretty plain, only cheese, sour cream, and green onions to garnish. They were ontop of thinly sliced potatoes though which was the good part. The Potato Skins were TOO much potato to topping ratio. It overpowered everything so if they sliced the potato at half that height it probably would have been perfect. My favorites were the Oysters, Clam Chowder, and Shrimp Cocktail. Those were delicious and I would definitely come back to order those again. My friends really enjoyed the Artichoke Fritters and the Calamari Strips. Both were fried to perfection. All this food plus 3 cocktails and 1 mocktail the total came out to be $168 after tax and tip ($42 per person!) You honestly can't beat these prices!!

Love this spot - amazing views, great ambiance and lots of seating spaces. Very easy to get a reservation it seems that there is a lot of availability om Open Table. We came for brunch, and ordered salad and 2 entrees. Also got a mocktail and some coffee which was delicious. Caesar salad was great as well as the Macadamia Crusted fresh Mahi Mahi and Fish & Chips. Loved it can not wait to get back!

CRISPY LOBSTER TEMPURA TACOS
Andrea C.

I really enjoyed coming here with my family. They can accommodate large parties and takes reservations in advance. We had a total of 9 people, service was great! Most of us ordered the tempura lobster tacos. The lobster was fresh and had a good amount of meat. I love how the dish is balanced with veggies and carbs. The only downside to this location is parking. They only do valley parking for a $10 fee. It's a bit challenging to find street parking, so come in advance if you plan on finding self parking on the streets.

SHRIMP & CRAB LOUIE

Always enjoy their shrimp and crab Louie salad. The coolest spot with good air conditioning is actually those tables near the restrooms. Can't go wrong in this 90° weather!

Oysters!
Barbara K.

The serviice was great and good food. We had oysters on the half shell, chicken pot pie soup, house salad, crab cake, Caesar, sand dabs, and French dip. I would have liked more blue cheese on the salad, but it was good. The only issue was the cold temp and some rain coming in on us on this unusual Christmas Eve. We should have asked to move...

Mai Tai and Bree from the bar

5 stars for the view alone. You can see the horse races, the ocean, and the lagoon. Maui tai brought me back to maui. Swordfish tacos were my jam!

Dog friendly ?? On the patio?

yes

How do I reach corp. office by phone?

If it’s not on the website good luck. Ask a manager onsite I’m sure they will share if you’re a customer.

Hi! Do you take reservations for dinner, especially on weekends? Planning a visit and want to make sure we get a table.

Hi Bethany, Yes, we take reservations. You can make them via Open Table or call the restaurant directly at 858-481-1166.

I just read in a review that reservations are a requirement.. Is this required even for having lunch?

Reservations are not required.

Is the expected reopening date still March 18th 2024?

No, we are hoping to be open by the end of March. We do not have a set date at this time of our reopening.

How much is valet parking and do they take cards or just cash?

Hello Briana, It is $7 per car and they take cash and card.…

Is this dog friendly?

Yes, on the outdoor patio.

Do they still offer bottomless mimosas during brunch? All reviews mentioning are old so I'm guessing unlikely.

Hi Michelle, We no longer offer bottomless mimosas. We do offer sparkling wine for $20/bottle…

Is this dog friendly?

Unfortunately not. We only allow service dogs.

Is there happy hour during the week?

Short answer is yes. I did not check recently, but their Web site, https://www.brigantine.com/ , says…

Does Brigantine have any area with TV's for sports?

Unfortunately, yes. :)

Is this restaurant dog friendly?

There is a small dog friendly patio on the south side of the restaurant under the green umbrellas.

Is there a kids menu?

Yes there is

I was hoping to see abundant lettuces, some avocado, healthy pieces of roasted turkey, punchy gorgonzola vinaigrette. I got what seemed like not a lot of lettuces, watery diced up sliced turkey spread throughout, some fresh avocado, and a mild but tasty vinaigrette, and some good pickled onions. So it wasn't what I was expecting for a Cobb Salad, but rather felt like a watered down and small version. Chicken Kabob had only small diced up chicken, no chunks of chicken like you might expect and no smoky flavors. Tuna poke had some good raw tuna, rice, greens etc. But what I really felt like was going on here is that instead of price inflation we have portion reduction. All our bowls were on the smaller side, though the prices are still decent for what you can get nowadays. Lunch for four almost $100. Just not deeply satisfying. Service was quick and prompt and there is plenty of great outdoor seating. Looking for an ok healthy bite you can go here, but reality did not meet my expectations here.

One of the bartenders was tall with big muscles, which is the opposite of my ex who's short and has small muscles. That's right- Paul and I finally split up. So I'm 1000% back on the market. My friend Kaytie threw a "Reverse Bachelorette Party" for me which is why we came to Viewpoint Brewing. Kaytie is still married, but she can have fun behind Brian's back every now and then. Who cares? Men cheat on their wives all the time, so why can't us girls have some fun too every now and then? Especially when it's a reverse bachelorette party. Donna and Tracey were there too. I wonder if this is a location on eBird. Yes, I am a dork. I came here years ago while on a business trip and randomly found this place and loved it here. So when a date suggested we come here, I took a look at the venue and remembered what an awesome brewery this is! Date gets some brownie points for chosing this spot, maybe this could go somewhere haha. Parking is a situation here. But if you go past the restaurant, there is some parking on the road and in small lot meant for those enjoying nature. I felt bad taking one of these spots. There is paid public parking on the corner before the restaurant and valet is available at this brewery. I need to figure out another way to get here... On a Sunday afternoon, place had people but it wasnt mobbed. Baseball game and Del Mar horse races were showing on the TVs. But, don't come here to watch TV, look outside! I saw some very good bird action, including an egret doing some weird strutting in the lush greenery. I am bummed I forgot to bring my binoculars but I will be back here again soon with binocs ready! I started off with a hefeweisen and that was good, date had a Mexican lager x 2. I had the ceviche (pretty good) and had the aioli on the side. Date had a sandwich of some kind and copious amounts of fries. It took a lot of will power for me to not have any of those fries, they looked so yummy! I also had a watermelon beer, this had hints of watermelon flavor and I enjoyed it. Great spot for large groups too as there were a few large parties sitting in the "outside" space. Hostess initially asked if we wanted to sit "inside" or "outside," and I was confused as it all looked like outside to me haha. I guess this is SoCal, everything is open air. This is a nice spot to have convo, very spacious, lots of nice tables, we sat at a high top. I love perching higher up, kinda of like a bird haha! Waitresses here were all very good, some very cute too (eye candy is always appreciated). Overall, a really fun way to spend a Sunday summer afternoon! I'll be back!
