This is a very nice hotel with no major complaints. The only surprise is the lack of a hot tub in the pool area - the water was almost too cold to swim, but that didn't stop us! They also offer a very nice exercise room. The other wings have very large ballrooms - enough to host very large conferences. The staff was very nice and professional. Even the security was polite in making sure everyone had a good time, but was also safe. This can be a tough job with rowdy wedding crowds and a lobby bar! Comfortable beds with clean rooms and large TV's. Not much of a view out the windows - parking lots and a mall across the street or highway scenery. Hey, you're in Bridgewater, NJ! They do promote going "Green", so that made me feel warm and fuzzy. There is even a notice that encouraged hanging towels in the bathroom for reuse - no obligation, of course. That's the only reason for 4 starts, otherwise its 3. Overall a great experience and I wouldn't mind going back. read more

I say this because now they charge for everything. I used to come here every now and then and it used to be no problem. When my father parked in the lot, and when me my brother and mother when to check in, they told us that they have to charge the parking space for $15 and we were like what? So we are not gonna come here again but we never know that we are come again. But the room is nice and the gym was nice too. read more

My wife and I booked this hotel two weeks before the Rutgers-Ohio State game. I was pleasantly surprised they didn't gouge us as the New Brunswick Hyatt was charging $350 for the evening! At $150 for an event (and a wedding), the price was great. The hotel itself is clean with very nice amnesties. Large gym, indoor pool and nice bar area. Front desk very polite and accommodating. Right across the street from a mall with high end stores and plenty of restaurant choices. Overall a winner! read more

Over the years I've stayed at the Bwater Marriot dozens of times, as once upon a time, this was the only "real" hotel around. Sure there were the dumps on Rt22, but hotel? This was it. Now that the Hunterdon / Somerset County border has experience it's boom with commerce, there are many choices in the area, and hotels are everywhere. While I don't think this Marriot has done a good job keeping up the Jones, it's certainly not a bad hotel. It's just a standard hotel room, with very limited services, with the exception of a decent restaurant on-site, with the Bwater Mall and several strip malls close by. The other hotels in the area now offer free WIFI, free breakfast, and the all suite hotels even have free laundry. This Marriot still charges for everything. With this said, they are always booked with biz people midweek and wedding receptions on weekends, which does give them a bit of a "tude, and yes, they will try to give you a double vs a king if you arrive solo. I'll be back at this hotel next month, with the same Visa deal that someone else mentioned, so I'll update accordinly. Marriot if you're reading...please honor the reservation, forward the points this time, and fork over the gift card without hassle. I could have paid 1/2 ( yes 1/2), with the friends and family deal that IHG has, and still chose you -- don't make me regret it --- Pretty Please !!!! read more

Very nice lobby and bar, but the rooms are just okay. Especially for the price. Pretty small rooms, my blowdryer didn't work and the iron had crud coming out of the little holes. Overall I wasn't impressed. There are plenty of other options around this area, too. read more

I stayed here for 17 days for work recently. I thought that the restaurant downstairs was great, and I loved that the gym was pretty spacious for a hotel gym. It's close to the mall and restaurants, so easy access to things outside of the hotel. The rooms were small, but comfortable. My only complaints are that 1) the walls were super thin, so I could hear EVERYTHING my neighbor was saying on the phone... and I could also hear EVERYTHING the person on the other line was saying. Not kidding! and 2) I did the breakfast room service card thing ONCE (you know, you write down what you want, what time you want it delivered, and put it on the doorknob before midnight) and the food was arriving 15 minutes after they said they would deliver it. I had to leave at that point, so I didn't get my breakfast. I felt bad for the guy wheeling the cart.. he told me that he was just backed up but had they just said that they typically run late, I would have marked an earlier time on the card. I heard from others that the breakfast room service runs late pretty often. So if you do the breakfast room service card, keep that in mind. You CAN get a mini fridge delivered to your room if you need one or will be there for an extended stay. I think the same applies to a microwave. read more

This Marriott seemed to cater to business personnel. The place was above average. They were great in giving us two a-joining rooms as we requested. The rooms were very nice with excellent beds. Overall, our one day stay was excellent. read more

I recently stayed at the Marriott in Bridgewater, NJ for one night. It was a great hotel and we had an excellent stay. We checked in around 4 pm, which was quick, friendly and easy. We requested a quiet area of the hotel, as it was obvious there was going to be a few weddings staying there that evening (from the gift bags behind the counter). Our room was exceptionally quiet, clean and comfortable. We had room service around midnight and it was hot, fresh and reasonably priced for room service. Check-out was easy and quick. Overall, it was a great stay. We'll be back!! read more

Let me start this off by saying the food is absolutely disgusting and overpriced room service is very expensive and the food is not even good it takes a long time to get to your room and the people delivering it expect a tip on the phone they give you an attitude if you don't give them one but I would have to say that the hotel is very nice they have a nice pool to swim in! read more

Spent a Saturday night here. The room was discounted, normally the rooms go for $200+. Ultimate luxuary ! Room was small. Great place to stay when the company is paying the rent. The Resturant was delicious! read more

Good hotel located near the mall. They used to have a great business office room where I was able to work from when staying here. Unfortunately they began "renovating" 6 months ago and have not re-opened it. Huge downfall as I need this area when traveling for business, had to choose the Hyatt instead due to this a few times. Hopefully they get it re-opened soon. Otherwise great facility. read more

This hotel is a great find! We stay here once a month to visit family in the area. The food is excellent! My family has been taken care of by the most amazing bartenders at the Marriott . We arrived late Tuesday 15 minutes before closing. We were greeted by Steve. He took our meal and drink order and made us feel right at home. We were never rushed. We returned for dinner on Wednesday. Again Steve was working and we had a great meal. The steaks salads appetizers were all 5 star. Finally we stopped in for drinks Friday night. Michelle and Steve were behind the bar. They have worked together for 9 years. What a great team. Thanks. read more

They're pulling some shady activities on their local network. When signing onto the hotel wireless, anyone trying to use OpenDNS is blocked - you need to use their locally provided DNS servers otherwise no pages resolve. This not only puts users at risk if their DNS server was compromised, but is incredibly heavy handed. read more

Disappointing for a Marriott. I recently stayed at this hotel since I was visiting a customer. The lobby and restaurant were remodeled not so long ago but the rooms are very outdated and you can expect some critters inside the mattress. Service also has a lot of inefficiencies. Don't bother to contact the Managing Director, since he has no clue of what is going on. read more

We have stayed at this Marriott many times (for pleasure, with kids, for a kids birthday party). I have to say that every time we have stayed, we have had a tremendous time. We just stayed here on 2/15 just to have a small get away. We got a complimentary breakfast deal (more on that later). Our friends also decided last minute to make reservations for the same night. No problem, even with requesting an adjoining room far from the elevator. *note - you really should book online as that is how we got our deal. My friend made reservations over the phone and wasn't offered the same deal. Anyway, staff is very pleasant, very friendly and very helpful. One of the maids saw my son lugging his suitcase and she came up and carried it for him, all the while chatting with us very nicely. Room clean, bed linens wonderful (full down comforters and pillows). The pool area is great - BUT - we bring our kids, and there always seem to be lots of kids, so it is LOUD! Doesn't bother us, but if I were looking for peace and quiet, you won't get that on the weekends. Really great and accomodating place for families and kids on the weekends. Last - our complimentary breakfast was at the restaurant on premises - T-Bones. It was for a full buffet style breakfast. Kids were $4.95 (very good deal) and adults normally $17.95. WONDERFUL. Great way to finish our little getaway - and no problem with a late check out request of 1 pm. Thank you Bridgewater Marriott for another great stay! read more

The Marriott at Bridgewater is overpriced and disappointing. The rooms are cheaply furnished, the beds are very uncomfortable, and the amenities are minimal. If you are lucky enough to get a room facing the highway, you are guaranteed a noisy, disrupted sleep. read more

Inexcusable rude service today. We met some friends here for brunch because we wanted to be able to get some mimosas with our brunch- I called the day before to see what time brunch was open and made sure the bar would be open for a mimosa at that time. When we arrived, I had been told the incorrect time over the phone so we waited another hour for the bar to open. We were then told that the bartender was late showing up so we never got to receive any brunch cocktails. As we were waiting for the bartender, the brunch buffet closed and they literally starting vacuuming next to our table while we were still sitting there! Inexcusable. read more

Dinner at Tbones last night ( Sunday evening 10/24: 6pm) was subpar. Firstly, my wife and I were seated in the Martini lounge, the booth had a thick coating of dust on the railing around it that obviously hadn't been cleaned in days if not weeks. Next, the tap water /ice served was stale / had a metallic off tatse. My wifes' simple medium rare Marriott Burger was far overdone and hard as a rock...the replacement was better but not memorable ..and hidden by a comically oversized dense bun that couldn't be eaten; the pickle slices were dried out...obviously a few days refrigerator burn. My own red snapper dish was a tired looking and small piece of fillet dwarfed by the mound of potatos it was presented on. During my 25 year business career and world wide travel I've had scrumptious Marriott dinners all over Asia,Europe and the Middle East. ( a particular steak dinner in Cairo comes to mind ). This one in Bridgewater less than 4 miles from my home was abyssmal. read more

Stayed here once, recently, but never again...This hotel is far from being exemplary of a fine Marriott. Paper thin walls prevent a good nights sleep, that in itself is # 1 on the hit list, their TV's have mostly sports channels which is absurd, and most of the time, the cable signal went blank on and off.. but in the future, I'll stay elsewhere, maybe in Hunterdon/Warren counties. read more

Definitely a nice hotel! Wonderful restaurant and bar within the hotel, plus a business center, pool, and other nice amenities. Upon check in, one will notice the extremely attentive staff who just go far and beyond in being polite and providing great and friendly service. Admittedly this hotel is a bit pricy, but if you scan hotels within the area, they are not that much more than similar hotels (10-15%?). A clean, full service hotel. No major negatives. I'd stay here again! read more

The Bridgewater Marriott charges a gratuity for banquet or meeting services and does not give the service workers the gratuity. They pay the employees a low wage and use the gratuity money for operating costs. Only the management and owners are allowed to make better wages at this hotel. read more

Bad service and the most horrible take out! Ordered few times and the food looked like cams out of someone's left over. Who knows probably did. When I called manager I was on line literally for over 20 minutes and when she finally picked up she was rude and unpleasant. All she did was giving me refund for raw calamari- completely raw!!! I had a HORRIBLE experience at the Bridgewater Marriott this past weekend. We were staying there as part of a wedding party. My fiance's brother was getting married and their church ceremony was at 3pm but check in at the hotel wasn't until 3 pm also. The bride called weeks in advance to get the groom and his brothers an early check in time of 12:30 so we could get ready before the ceremony. I called the hotel at 12:00 saying we would be there soon to make sure the rooms were indeed ready. They told me only 1 of the 3 rooms was ready but they would get us 2 more. When we arrived, NONE of the rooms were available. Six of us had to cram into the groom's room and try to get ready. Since we couldn't check in yet, I was forced to rush back to the hotel after the ceremony, check in, cart all of our stuff out of the groom's room and down to our rooms and rush to catch the shuttle. I MISSED being in WEDDING PICTURES because of this! The kicker is.... the next morning, around 8AM we had housekeeping knocking on our doors and OPENING them, trying to clean our rooms. AT 8 IN THE MORNING?! Yet they could not manage to have 3 rooms ready for us at 12:30 LIKE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO. We got NO apology for the inconvenience. The woman who checked us in did not even seem to comprehend the issue and spoke very broken english. The whole experince really put a damper on the day. I will NOT go back to the Bridgewater Marriott. And we even thought of booking them for our wedding....NOT ANYMORE! read more

This Marriott property is beautiful and very conveniently located to the local highways, restaurants & shopping. But most importantly, the hotel staff are consummate professionals; from the front desk, to the dining facilities, to the Engineering team. I must give a special acknowledgement to the Front Desk/Room Reservations team & their Sr. Room Operations Manager. They have exemplary Customer Service and problem solving skills. Our experience at the Marriott Bridgewater was impromptu as my elderly mother had literally, just been turned away from another local hotel despite her having a confirmed reservation. She had just flown into NJ a few hours prior and was very tired. Mom looks forward to staying in a hotel when she visits so that each of my daughters can spend "quality time" sleepover nights with her. It's been a long standing, cherished tradition for our family. In the 11th hour, literally, this Room Reservations team proceeded to turn my mother's (& my) frustration and sadness into a scenario of wonderful, happy memories. They worked tirelessly calling all local sister properties and, when that didn't work, they worked diligently to juggle bookings at their location to generate accommodations for my mother. They wouldn't give up. This team was focused and determined to create a positive outcome which they ultimately accomplished. They then proceeded to take a sincere interest in my mother as an individual throughout her stay. I couldn't have asked for a better situation and hotel team! I'd recommend them over and over again. read more

This Marriott is a bottom of the barrel Marriott. The rooms are small, the sheets are very rough and uncomfortable, and the mattress on my bed sunk down significantly in the middle which made it difficult to sleep. It does well due to multiple corporations in the area, however, is not worthy of the business. I got in late for business purposes and looked over the in-dining room menu; I hurried to order at 11:40 bc the kitchen closed at 12:00, however, they would not accept my order. I tried to look up food delivery in the area, but found nothing and went to bed without eating. The next day, I also tried to change my room bc it was noisy by the highway and woke me up throughout the night. However, even though I was staying on business for 2 weeks, the "elite concierge gentleman" would not change my room because of future reservations that he had already been "assigned to certain rooms" (not sure how that is applicable as I would have liked to have taken any room that was less noisy on the opposite side of the building). Also, I am a Marriott credit card owner which I would have liked to have claimed that it helped me to gain superior service, however, this proved to have absolutley no benefit and I think i will consider a new credit card with better perks. read more
