We stayed in the privacy suite, and after reading all the wonderful reviews, I just hoped that it would be as great as it sounded! It certainly met all of our expectations! The owner, Lynn, gave us a tour when we arrived and made sure we knew how everything worked and they were happy to give us recommendations for restaurants in the area. They were accomodating when we arrived a little past their 3-6pm check-in because our bus was late. Speaking of, we chose this place because we didn't need a car at all to get there or to get around! We took the trans-bridge line bus from Manhattan and it drops you off right in Frenchtown. Then Frenchtown is so small, we did everything we wanted to do just by walking. The room: Very clean and homey, with a very large bathroom with jacuzzi. Very romantic room, with candles surrounding the jacuzzi. They provide robes and a bottle of wine and the room also has books and magazines for your reading pleasure. It is very well-thought out, and even though it had a tv, we didn't turn it on once. The breakfast: We stayed for two nights, so I have two breakfasts to review. In the privacy suite, they deliver breakfast in a basket to your door, and you set up the table in your room with the placemats in the basket. Our first morning we were served waffles with blueberries, a warm peach pastry (maybe cobbler?), freshly baked corn muffins, yogurt, and freshly squeezed orange juice. Our second breakfast was totally different and equally delicious: sausages, breakfast potatoes, brocolli and cheese quiche, bowl of fruit (cantelope, blueberries, and cheeries), two more muffins (one blueberry, one cinammon nutty type), yogurt, and orange juice again. We couldn't even finish our breakfast the second day, there was so much food! Activities: We did Paddle Creek Kayaking (highly recommend), and ate at Bridge Cafe (so-so), Frenchtown Inn (I would stick to their Grill room), and Bamboo House (average asian food). If we ever return to Frenchtown, we would love to stay here again!

Lynn, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful throughout our entire stay. We were in the Anne James suite and it was beautiful. The room was large, comfortable and romantic. The ensuite bathroom was very nice and had a large Jacuzzi tub for two with candles all around (which you're allowed to light). Lynn serves a home cooked 3 course breakfast in the dinning room which was a highlight of our stay there. The food was fresh and delicious! You can walk to everything in Frenchtown which is so convenient. There are lots of shops, restaurants, art galleries, and antiques. If you go definitely check out the Frenchtown Inn for dinner or lunch. They have fantastic food and service. Also, make an appointment at Euphoria Spa for a massage or facial! We were blown away with how great the spa was--- and again it's walking distance from the B&B. We also took a drive over to Lambertville (about 20 min) and visited the town. It's a bit bigger than Frenchtown, and you can walk across the bridge to New Hope PA for more stores and shops. Overall it was a really fantastic getaway that turned out to be much better than what we expected. You won't be bored and there is lots to do. We plan to return in the fall for another quiet getaway and spa visit!

Subtle. 2nd course- 9 hour braised Short Rib. i'm the one that usually gets this although my husband did and I have to say it's some of the best short ribs I've ever put into my mouth. The polenta was cooked to perfection. I made a very loud yummy sound when I tasted his meal. I ordered the lamb 3 generous lollipop lamb chops and felt no shame as I gnawed at my bones. Temperature perfect, the sauce!!! and the carrots julienned with the best spice and maybe a pinch of brown sugar (tried guessing because it was so good, these were not carrots ! So much more. And a purple potato mash that was ... I mean everything was beyond our hopes. We chose the fresh fruit desert that had a very unusual combination, 2 of which I'd never had before. I'm now a convert. We were served by Tracy clearly and expert (warm but not making herself the focus) with Brady in training and already up to speed. Some things I noticed. When food came out the whole kitchen came out and served everybody at once! How refreshing to see that. All servers were attentive and paying attention to the entire room. No one felt unnoticed and forgotten. The wonderful woman behind the desk at the entryway, took us on a tour of the event space with complete joy and enthusiasm. She didn't seem put out at all in fact I wanted to just hang out with her for a while. So welcoming. The second we walked in the door everyone said hello to us as if they had known us for years! We just moved here. We had never been there in our lives. The property is perfectly maintained, makes quite a statement, and the new converted barn was my dream barn. My only regret is that I didn't get to meet all the sheep on the property. If any guests come to visit us in our new home in French Town, we're going to recommend they stay there in one of the cottages possibly or the in itself so that they can have the ultimate comfort and the elegance. They would expect in an overnight that I fear, our guest room will not lend itself to. I want to get married again so I can get married there! I want to eat there once a week! Gratitude to my niece who we asked for a recommendation of where we should eat for a nice meal to celebrate my husband, after a big achievement. She has lived here for three years and as a trained nutritionist and chef herself. She said the only place you should go is the Woolverton Inn and its New Restaurant. She will be receiving a gift! Lastly, I was so overwhelmed upon entering the restored barn that I forgot the name of the elegant man who received us with such grace. He's a gracious host and constantly circulated the room keeping an eye on the flow with light personnel suggestions ( potato soup with lobster next time! They even put out yummy snacks & nice notes for their guests, to enable them to feel like family. The place is right off the river & as wonderfully scenic as one could get, while being in Milford, which is also a plus, since it is such a nice little town to wander through, with plenty of places to eat out & enjoy. All the people are so very friendly. We would love to stay here again, soon, however, when my wife called, they were all booked up till after Christmas.

From the moment we arrived, and until the moment we left, Lori was so exceptionally kind and incredibly gracious to us! Also, she's got the cutest dog in the whole world. The dog lives separately from the actual Inn, so we requested to meet the dog, and she was kind enough to give us that opportunity. Major bonus for us, because we love dogs. The night I stayed, there was…read morea huge thunderstorm and most of New Hope, including the Wedgwood, lost power for a few hours, but it just added to the quaintness and mysteriousness of the place! Sitting on the front porch at the main house and watching the storm is one of my fondest memories. Fast forward to 2024. My fiance and I decided to stay for a weekend. As soon as I walked in, the owners recognized me! With all the business they get, I was really surprised. And it was wonderful that they still owned it. Since it was spring, the grounds were full of brand-new flowers and the trees were blossoming. The scents were amazing and everything was so pretty. There were some fun statues on the property as well. I've only ever stayed in the Main House. They have everything from your basic, fairly small rooms (By basic I do NOT mean bad or boring!) to beautiful suites with balconies, whirlpool tubs and fireplaces. Every single room in the Main House looks as though you've stepped back in time, but there are some updates. For example, they have added a big breakfast room. And the breakfasts are still very good, including the fresh fruit. And the smell of coffee... Heaven. Downtown New Hope is just a short walk down the hill. Lambertville (NJ) is right across the Delaware River, and you can walk or drive. I can't wait to go back again, and this time I won't be waiting another 29 years!

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Aaron Burr House Bed and Breakfast. The location is an ideally situated property just steps from all of the action and epitomizes what one imagines as a quintessential north eastern B&B. This historic home is impeccably maintained and appointed and indulges guests with cozy, warm and inviting spaces. We stayed in the beautiful Schuyler room which offered a super comfortable 4-post bed, gorgeous antique furniture, a fireplace, a sweet little seating nook next to the bay windows with views of the quaint neighborhood and a door to the outside that would be perfect for guests accompanied by a pet. The stay comes with daily breakfast, at 9AM, which is served in the communal dining area. The meals are expertly prepared by Ricardo Gonzalez, the innkeeper, and are truly a beautiful way to start the day. Ricardo is not serving up your average fare. We were treated to a delicious oatmeal bar with a variety of delectable toppings, gorgeous banana bread french toast with fresh whip and berries, spinach quiche, sausage, poached apples with warm, silky caramel, luscious fruit options and even a homemade yogurt with layers of granola and honey. All homemade and every bite better than the last! Ricardo is much more than a typical innkeeper, he embodies the warmth and grace that you immediately feel upon entering the inn. We were spoiled with a bit of a tour of this landmark site and intrigued by his stories about local history, the amazing decor/antiques, his background and he even offered some great tips for activities and shops to visit in the area. He made this experience so much more special in every way! Our waitperson, Gretchen, was fantastic and even went downstairs to fix the soda line for Glenn. We joked with her constantly and she just came back for more. We started with an order of calamari which came with sliced banana pepper and a balsamic vinegar dressing. Very nice - could have been a little crisper. Lunch consisted of BLT with cheese - excellent, Crab cake salad and a Soft Shelled Crab sandwich - all excellent.( Lunch for four, by the way ) All this in the garden, under a tent with crystal chandeliers! All the sandwiches came with a "salad of the day" which was a potato salad - again, very good. Coming from the hustle-bustle of a Saturday in New Hope, The Mansion Inn was a welcome oasis where we could relax and enjoy! We will definitely go back, perhaps for dinner next time. The previous reviews seem a bit harsh, but there may have been changes since their reviews. The interior of the building was beautiful with a very nice sitting room off of the foyer. They are affiliated with The Majestic Hotel in Ocean Grove.
