I really enjoyed my stay here. The accommodations were clean and tidy. The farm house itself had a lot of charm and history. The highlight was the farm animals and the delicious breakfast. Only a 2 minute drive from peddlers village!

Just got back home from an over night stay here with my girlfriend. It was pretty amazing. The new owners are super friendly and accommodating. The farm is situated right on a main road close to Peddler's Village with New Hope and Doylestown about equidistant in either direction. So, that makes it pretty convenient. I've never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before, so I really didn't know what to expect. Upon a recommendation from a local, I called this place, asked a few questions and immediately booked the private third floor, the Ash Mill Suite. Rustic is definitely a word that comes to mind when describing the house and the entire property. Our room was clean, had fresh towels and there were AC units in several windows. We had a king sized bed, which I found to be a bit firm. And since we had the large suite, there was a separate lounge-y room with a day bed across the hall. We didn't make use of this room too much but it was nice to have another place to sit and relax in. This is definitely a room that could support 3 maybe even 4 people at a relatively affordable price. There were small TVs in our room and the other room, in the event this is something you're interested in. It wasn't really something we cared for while at a B&B on a farm. Though, it was nice to have. Also nice to have: I noticed some open and quick wifi signals all over the property. (Or at least from the front porch/outside area, kitchen, our suite's second room. The signal couldn't be reached from our large suite bedroom, but as mentioned, that's not what we were there for.) There's some sheep that live under the barn, I had fun photographing them and fed them once. Breakfast the following morning was really great. Emily, the Innkeeper made a delicious western omelette for me, and my girlfriend had equally delicious French toast made with challah bread. Aside from that, there was fresh fruit, numerous beverages (coffee, water, OJ, iced tea). We had a really great time and will definitely retreat back to Ash Mill Farm in the future. Sounds like they're doing quite a bit of renovation having only purchased the land 3-4 months ago. We can't wait to see the progress they make on the house and other buildings.

My family hosted a baby shower at this establishment earlier this month. The onsite staff I dealt with, the innkeepers and the event coordinator, were spectacular and went above and beyond. HOWEVER, the owner of the property who I only know as Jeff, was the most disrespectful person I've ever met. We had an unfortunate incident where a guest got stuck in the mud on their lawn. When simply following up (with a non confrontational email) to see if there was room for negotiation on the costs of the damage, we received the following email directly from Jeff. Take of it what you will but I personally won't be recommending this venue to anyone I know. I urge anyone looking into this venue to think before you support this local business run by someone who would be so condescending. I've included a screenshot of the email as you honestly have to see it to believe it.

Stayed here for for a weekend getaway from NYC. We had a great weekend. Inn keeper was very gracious. The room and inn is very clean and charming. Breakfast was amazing, the bacon was crisp and french toast was perfect. There is also afternoon tea. You can feed the sheep and there is pony on the property. There are great towns to visit nearby with plenty of restaurants and antique shops. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here.

The venue is so beautiful - with stonework, greenery, and a rustic elegance that encapsulates the feeling and the vibe of the area. As soon as I stepped onto the property, I knew this place was the one for us. Plus it is family-run, making it warm and welcoming. Every detail in their renovations and planning has been carefully thought out. We were able to have our welcome reception, wedding, and farewell brunch all at Fox Briar - which made logistics easy, and a handful of our closest family and friends at the Inn for the weekend. Kendall is an incredible innkeeper and made everyone feel welcome and cared for - and her baked goods are to die for! The Inn itself is super clean and comfortable - all the rooms are beautiful but the bridal suite in particular is gorgeous and truly special. It was a perfect set-up for our family and friends in every way, and we could not have asked for more. We cannot say enough good things about Fox Briar - thanks to Donna, Kendall, and Jeff for helping make our wedding such a beautiful dream! This historic location was a rest and play stop for literary and theater New Yorkers in the 20s and 30s and probably beyond -- check out the famous signatures and notes in the albums in the main living room. The owners keep a handful of rescued farm animals (pot-bellied pigs, mini ponies, goats), and it is clear they are well cared for. It is a busy place for big wedding events now, and so we like to stay during the week. It is very relaxing to walk around the grounds. We saw a giant heron in the pond and deer strolling. There are so many nice places to sit outside with a bottle of wine and a book or snacks. Rooms are very unique and comfortable. You have a lot of different personalities to choose from: lofts, cabins, barn spaces, etc. Many have jacuzzis which can provide your evening entertainment, lol. We have not eaten in the restaurant because our top restaurant on earth is very close by, but when it was closed, Josh gave us great recommendations. And he made a lovely tofu scramble for breakfast as a special request. One sweet touch: despite checking the room, we left without my spouse's expensive phone charger. Housekeeping found it and ran after us before we could drive off without it. She did not have to do that. Always tip your housekeeping staff. The extended Covid months have been very hard on inns, restaurants, and event spaces, and it must be stressful for them as things come back to life when so many events have been postponed. It is wonderful to be back out again. We will return -- a lot.

The Barley Sheaf is very serious about pandemic precautions, so masks are in full effect, and they'll walk you to your socially-distanced table in a beautiful, outdoor gardening setting. The inn itself is an architectural delight, as well, so you are surrounded by beauty on all sides. Service was pleasant and forthcoming. I wouldn't say that this is the finest level of dining, of course, you're not expecting EMP in the middle of Bucks County, but this is a good attempt, and people are pleasant and quite dignified. The guests were all well attired and the crowd is polite and kind. Food is of the adventurous character, which I enjoy. A lot of different flavor combinations (they like to do salé and sucré), beautiful plating, interesting textures, and good cooking techniques. My favorites were the octopus appetizer (so buttery soft and tender, which is a rarity) and the pheasant special, which was a pleasant and apropos surprise in this outdoor, country setting. Finally, this is a BYOB restaurant with perfectly selected wine glasses, fine silverware, and other special touches such as a freshly starched linens, etc. which elevate the dining experience.

Sitting on the front porch at the main house and watching the storm is one of my fondest memories. Fast forward to 2024. My fiance and I decided to stay for a weekend. As soon as I walked in, the owners recognized me! With all the business they get, I was really surprised. And it was wonderful that they still owned it. Since it was spring, the grounds were full of brand-new flowers and the trees were blossoming. The scents were amazing and everything was so pretty. There were some fun statues on the property as well. I've only ever stayed in the Main House. They have everything from your basic, fairly small rooms (By basic I do NOT mean bad or boring!) to beautiful suites with balconies, whirlpool tubs and fireplaces. Every single room in the Main House looks as though you've stepped back in time, but there are some updates. For example, they have added a big breakfast room. And the breakfasts are still very good, including the fresh fruit. And the smell of coffee... Heaven. Downtown New Hope is just a short walk down the hill.
