I bought a £9k car last year with a warranty for two years, from Bridgend Motor Group Old Glasgow Road, Kilwinning. I should've checked but the sale price was near £2k overpriced in the first place. Long story short - I got fiddled out of the 2nd year warranty on a technicality. What's important is when I had a genuine complaint I was physically threatened in front of my wife by the After Sales Manager, physically confronted and threatened with "manually hunt you from this building". He came round desk aggressively and deliberately goaded me. Complaint lodged with police on him. Civil matter to be pursued regarding warranty. When I said that to him "Good go ahead. Phone your lawyer" (and he thinks I am all mouth and called me an ignoramus they are about to find different on that score). If after consulting fully with my lawyer, and I can, I will prefer charges on physical confrontation and threats. Nevertheless, Police informed. Incident number obtained. On checking documents I believe they have broken the sales agreement. That's another matter for my very expensive lawyer. If I win any of those civil complaints. I may decide to take further action regarding the legitimacy of their operation, in how they support physical confrontation, threats and all. Once they have your money they are not interested, as previous reviews attest to, they have no after sales. It's a complete cowboy outfit. His parting shot to me was that I was "An ignoramus" well, if that's the case that makes them the scum! Complete brave wee nancy boy who wouldn't say boo to you on his own in different circumstances! Do not buy from Bridgend! Great prices on cars but awful after sales service. I bought a car there in 2014 and about 3 months afterwards, the engine completely failed and had to be replaced. It was under warranty but the warranty they gave me only had a £500 limit on it. They put this warranty limit on it without telling me of course. All they said was that the warranty would cover costs to repair any fault with the the car apart from natural wear and tear. The repairs cost me £3000! I will never buy from them again....they will say anything to get your money. read more

I am a single mother on benefits with two children and work part-time in Kilmarnock. I wrote my car off just before christmas, and the insurance company offered me a cash settlement of £5300 which was not enough to replace the car with an equivalent vehicle. I went to Bridgend Motor Group to look at a car as it was an exact replica of the car that I had demolished, but it I had to come up with another £445. This blow of bad luck came at what was already a very difficult time and I was not thinking straight and this was the first car that I saw! To cut a long story short - I was unable to raise the additional funds and instead of getting myself into even more debt, I decided to cancel my Vehicle Order, pay off half of my debts from moving house just two weeks before the accident and try to find a cheaper model instead. Bridgend decided to keep the £200.00 deposit that I had paid, and instead offered to transfer it to another vehicle if I purchased it directly from them! read more

Bought car for £5000 9mths ago from this deplorable garage. Trading standards looking into it so cant say to much but 9mths less than 8k miles later I am sitting with a repair bill for £5170 all major components. Brigend have told me they will do the repairs but I will be paying for them as car is out of warranty. I would not let their machanics near my sons old gocart let alone anyones car. Having to get repairs done else where. Please please please avoid this nightmare happening to you do not go near these cowboys from hell. read more

bought car from garage in April 2015, management light came on couple days of purchase took car back was told they couldn't find anything, but to take car back if it happened again , i did twice again to be told they put it on diagnostic and nothing showed up and this can sometimes happen in cars and it is nothing to worry about. took car to independent garage for some repairs to springs as warranty had run out, mechanic there knows hubby and asked if he could plug car in to diagnostic as a matter of interest as i told him my story, 2 codes showed up was advised that they would have shown up previously had they been tested. Advised to take back to garage and tell them what was found did this upshot not interested giving excuses so i have to fork out to get car repaired for a fault that should be repaired by bridgend garage at no cost to me. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK FOR A CAR FROM THEM IN THE NEAR FUTURE. read more

WARNING...my son purchased an Audi A3 from bridgend group start November 2015 on 2008 reg , car was reputed to be 2 owners and everything seemed fine at this point , I stupidly thought that bridgend was a reputed long established dealer whom could be trusted...WRONG. After son owning car which he purchased for £8000 his circumstances changed and decided that car had to be sold , we advertised car as private seller and had various interest with people coming to see doing an hpi and then never hearing anything back until one prospective buyer asked why am I going to be the 5th owner and why is it showing a red caution on hpi as imported !!! I was alarmed and paid for an hpi to see vehicle history myself bearing in mind this car was bought from bridgend and was reputed by them to be 2 owners, car was registered in Ireland then bought by bridgend who registered themselves as keepers to change reg number to make it look like uk car....none of this information was disclosed at any time , I immediately phoned bridgend ayr and spoke to stewart the salesman who sold car to son ,his response was ,I had no idea about car coming from Ireland ! and admitted car was sold as 2 owners but at this point was actually 3 owners , he said bridgend group would purchase car back but offered a max £4200 and that's them doing my son a FAVOUR, so 3 months later car lost value of nearly £4000 . My son and I feel completely ripped off and were amazed by the fact that not only did bridgend do nothing to remedy situation of being MISOLD a car with false history but they also refused to answer any of my questions. read more
