having first hand experience with these people , i feel you should be aware of the pifalls with them. You sign a HP agreement but with a twist. they never post the actual price of the car on the website, just the deposit and weekly/monthly terms . The actual value you will never see, just the amount loaned and interest. ( which is massive!! by normal standards ) Now it gets interesting.... they keep the V5 and a spare key, so you are NOT the registered keeper as in a normal Hp agreement reason is they keep the car registered to them and a spare key to take it away if you dont keep up with payments. As its not registered with you , if you get a parking ticket or speeding fine it goes to them and lease2buy charge you £25 admin fee on top. Also you pay road tax to them as you cant do it yourself so no monthly payment option for you! ( as yet i dont know if a £25 admin charge is applied) AND god forbid your late or miss a payment!! I was 1 week late and was threatened with a man coming over with the spare key to take it away..... I have had enough with this company and asked for Voluntary termination....first thing was to threaten court and repossession then they asked me to return the car immediately! ( consumer credit act states they have to come and pick it up) will keep you informed. keep well away from these people! i have bad credit but there are other companies out there that will take you! just shop around and avoid lease2buy read more

Got accepted for a 9 Seater Traffic from Lease2Buy that had an advisory (Play on track rod end ball joint) on MOT that apparently didn't show during there "64 Point" check. I asked if this was/will be fixed and was told NO i have to pay for the work when it is required (Next MOT no doubt) Brilliant nice bill 8 months time... At no point are you told that all your payment history is NOT reported to credit reference agency's.. The minibus was advertised at 42,000 miles when picked up 52,000... The minibus has had 1 passenger door & 1 rear slide door replaced Possible been in crash ??. Its had full Gearbox replaced due to failure at 23,000 miles ?? None of this was made aware to me at any point in the sale this was my own checks on the minibus How much im i paying £450 a month for 30 months + £2000 final payment... 30 Day Warranty... Well yes you will no doubt get accepted for finance but please do your own checks on the car before signing... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 25/03/2016 Lease2Buy are trying to hide this Review as its "Bad For Business" well its bad for business ripping off customers.. here is what they told TrustPilot Lease2Buy reported this review 04 February 2016 for the following reason(s): The review refers to other websites or companies LOL Now im sure who i bought from LOL ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Minibus now showing Engine & Gearbox & Injection System Faults Lease2Buy now saying over 30 Days Warrenty now its my problem... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ read more

Disgusting service. After initially receiving what looked like a 'good deal' it soon became apparent why. They employ minimum staff who are poorly trained to complete tasks effectively. After deciding to purchase my car out elsewhere, i phoned to cancel my deal in good time. Despite emailing and phoning to confirm the cancellation, they didn't seem to have any records. As a consequence they saw fit to try billing me for their incompetence to the tune of £250!!! I now have the job of paying for phone records and gathering IT evidence to support my argument. What a complete waste of time! Avoid them at all costs! read more

Lease2Buy are a law unto themselves. They do not care if you can afford a vehicle. They would prefer that you could not. Then they will force you (after obtaining some of your money) to take a car beyond your means and a car that is in poor condition. What they hope is that you cannot afford repayments or miss one, upon which they will quickly seize the vehicle (they know where you live and have addresses and details of your closest family and friends) and then they lease it out to another person for a hefty deposit. Its basically like a big car hire business which takes no responsibility for the maintenance of its vehicles (that's your job) and charges the same rates as if you simply hired a car. It makes a killing out of deposits but little of this goes into the upkeep of its vehicles. You are highly likely to get a vehicle which has numerous things that need fixing to make it road worthy and if you yourself don't keep that vehicle immaculate or go over a certain mileage they will take away your right to purchase the vehicle (you won't know this until you finish your term of repayments). Actually you don't have any right to purchase the vehicle at all, you won't get the log book or V5, and your weekly payments are not paying for the vehicle at all - they are paying for the lease of it. The vehicle belongs to Lease2Buy and they can choose to sell it to you at the end if they wish and if you pay them another fee (they don't disclose to you what this will be). They will be polite on the phone until you falter from what they want you to do - e.g. take a vehicle you cannot afford and then they will become either nasty and rude and pressurizing or simply ignore you until you do what they want. Also, beware giving them money - they do not refund anything even if you haven't signed anything or seen any goods. Like I said, they are a law unto themselves. read more

Well if my experience is anything to go by I wouldn't ever recommend them to anybody. I currently have a car through lease2buy and ok its ok, Couple of broken bits of trim I missed on pick up and the wear and tear associated with it being a ex motability car. But the issue's I have had is I wanted to change the car for a van and ok they basically led me up the garden path for months and months saying yes we will find you a van, Keep looking at the auctions (Which i did) and emailed them with possibles to buy for me. At which point I was in weekly if not sometimes daily contact with Gordon Birrell who I thought had my best interests at heart as an existing customer. Turns out they had no intention of buying me a van and then I was insulted by Gordon Birrell and called little man. Now if I had been rude or anything other than always pleasant to Gordon I would have understood but I was always civil if not a little short with him a couple of times. Now they don't even reply to emails and have offered me a settlement fee to get out of the car but NO way of buying a van. Very helpful guys!!!. So to sum up lease2buy, Great if you need a car and haven't got good credit and wish to buy a ok car but bad for customer service and satisfaction and forget it if you wish to change your car during the agreement. So my advice to anybody thinking about buying from lease2buy, Think about is this car/van going to suit me for 30 months or so and if not buy something else that will. read more

Well I don't often write reviews of companies but I feel that I need to let people know how good they really are. I have terrible credit and when I applied to Lease2buy I was treated very well indeed right from the first phone call to when I went to pick the car up from them In Irvine. When I saw the car I liked I placed a £200 deposit on the car to hold it and was told a couple of weeks before I could come and get it which was fine. The experience was a good one on the whole and took maybe a couple of hours or so and I was on my way home. I'm nearly halfway through my 30 months and the car I bought has been very good and really hasn't cost me much apart from servicing and tyres etc. I will be contacting them end of march to look into Changing the car for a van and I really do hope that they treat me as a valued customer as they do provide a easy trouble free transaction and will always do there best to help if you need it, Claire and Martin both stand out as being good helpful people. OK It can be slightly dearer to finance a car this way but I think you really have to realise that you are only paying it off over two and a half years and not 3 or even four years which of course has a bearing of your monthly payments. So if indeed you a Car or Van and cant get Credit the do give this company a try, I certainly will be using them again. read more

Our Lease2Buy Hell has culminated in them stealing our £1300 deposit. We put a deposit on a vehicle (not the one we wanted but the one we were forced to get after giving them £250 and then being told we had no choice of vehicle except one we said was beyond our affordability). After paying another £1050 we cancelled due to a family tragedy which meant we would have to go abroad and could not commit to a vehicle. Despite changing our mind within days Lease2Buy decided to STEAL our £1300 deposit and refused to refund it. They do not respond to emails, complaints or phone calls. They have the old legislation on their website and will not refund according to this or according to the new consumer regulations either. We signed nothing, had no contract with them and simply paid a deposit over the phone. We changed our mind a few days later. They have now refused to refund us our £1300 despite us having received no goods or vehicle. They have lied and are just ignoring us. Our total experience with them was of pressure selling, terrible communication, nastiness, aggression and stealth tactics. STEER WELL CLEAR and don't give them a penny of your hard earned money. read more

I am over the moon with my car and the service I received fromLease2Buy Cars I applied online and Gordon Birrell contacted me the next day. The car I initially wanted was no longer available, I was so unsure of what else I wanted and Gordon went through a number of different options - I was so fussy! I was a nightmare but at no point was I made to feel like a nightmare customer! Gordon was polite, very helpful and professional at all times and my beautiful Audi A5 was delivered to my door as soon as the agreement was in place. Correspondence to arrange delivery was prompt and professional. Having never leased a car before I didn't really know what I was doing or what to expect but everything was explained throughly to me throughout. I've spoken to a few different people at lease car and all of them have been so friendly and professional. I would recommend this company 110% to anyone. Thank you Gordon and Lease2buy! read more

we had previously used lease2buy when leasing our last vehicle and was contacted by gordon in april 10 offering us a great deal through lease2by new partner company. we applied for merc and was told we would have to wait 2 weeks for the vehicle to arrive and had to pay a £250 + £2990 deposit. we contacted viv later and was told they had been delays and we are now not going to receive until next month at the latest, as we had previously dealt with gordon at l2buy we trusted him and waited. next month came and still no sign, they never answered our calls, emails, messages-nothing. we then received a letter from l2buy saying we would be getting it soon and they will contact us to arrange delivery- surprise surprise no car. we have now discovered they has stopped financing any cars or vans and have no idea what we can do. really scam artists! read more

Definitely not the experience I have had with them, I have changed car many times, I have messed up on more than one occasion and have been given chance after chance with them. You would struggle to find a company with better morals and customer service than Lease2Buy. They don't sell new cars they sell nearly new cars so you are bound to find the odd bit of trim etc that might not be 100%. For a company that gives people a chance to own a car when nobody else will it doesn't get any better. If you need a car and aren't worried about getting something brand new off the dealership floor they are the best place to go in Scotland. read more

Went yesterday to collect my nissan qashqai, All the paper work was very well explained by viv, Lease2buy offer great value on all there vehicles, I'm paying back 10k for the qashqai and thats what it's worth if i was to buy off a forecourt with cash! The only negative i have is the car could be valeted a lot better as i spent 6hrs getting it to my standard today but i have a little bit of OCD when it comes to cars. I was in and out the office yesterday within 40mins. Will defo use again plus it's hand only staying 10mins away from lease2buy :) read more

If you have any option on the planet other than dealing with this company - take it. And don't think you can even deal with them by phone without being done out of thousands. They will take your money quite happily and not refund it even if you have signed nothing and received no goods. They respect no legislation and even have the wrong Consumer Regulations stated in the FAQ section of their website relating to refunds or cancellations. They literally stole our money. They are uncaring, feckless and have no respect for your rights. read more

I wouldn't touch them with someone else's barge pole to pardon the pun, unhelpful and abusive staff, sacking people in front of customers, not providing the car I originally wanted to buy as they said it needed a new engine management system and they weren't prepared to pay for it,said they were going to put it in to auction ,which shows the morals of this company, avoid like the plague as a previous poster stated read more

Saw Lease2buy on the internet as I wanted a new car but have had a bad credit rating in the past. The staff were really nice and explained that my repayments were tailored to match my income so that I wouldn't over stretch myself. I was able to choose a great car (nissan juke). They have loads of different cars and vans. I am really pleased with my new car. read more

I read 2 or 3 bad reviews on Qype but I thought I would apply to Lease2Buy any. They had a great website it was dead easy to use and the range of cars was fab. I applied, got accepted and 1 week later I was driving home in my lovely little Clio. I've already recommended Lease2Buy to 2 of my friends. read more
