I had an outdoor destination wedding in November of last year, including a good hours time on a sandy pavement and walking across a main street for some bride and groom portraits. Although my train was bustled most of the night, it was still definitely in need of a good cleaning by the end of the night! Post wedding, I was too busy with everything to even think about cleaning it. I finally made time 3 weeks later to start researching different companies that provide the service. I found that most cleaners will offer the service, but go through one of the few main "wedding gown cleaning and preservation" companies as a 3rd party, thus increasing the price. I decided to go through the companies directly and narrowed down my selection to Wedding Gown Preservation Co., Happily Ever After, and Bridalkare. I decided to go with Bridalkare as they offered the best price, packaging box design, and additional options available. The process was pretty easy. You are offered an unlimited number of items to be placed in the preservation box free of charge--as is (no additional cleaning). I had a Catholic ceremony so I decided to add my pillow, veil, and cord in addition to my sequenced belt. I placed all my items in a mesh bag for easy display. They do offer a cleaning service for your items if needed for an additional charge. I really liked how they have an option for you to see photos of your cleaned dress before boxing for an easy $5. I thought this was really beneficial as your mind is put at ease knowing your dress is actually cleaned before preserving. Note: you will need your to provide your own box when shipping it to them, but I had no problem with this as we had a few Amazon boxes coming in before Christmastime. Customer service was great, I had lots of questions regarding my additional items and special instructions requested, they answered in a timely manner and were very confident in their services. The package arrived about 7 weeks after I sent it in. They require a signature for your dress to be delivered to you, so I did have to wait around all day for that. The delivery box and Bridalkare main box inside was in perfect condition. Once you open the flap of the main box, there is an acid resistant paper covering the display window of the interior preservation box--nice additional protection. The items are neatly displayed and don't shift around. My only complaint would be that the plastic vacuum packaging has creased on the top and left side of the box (photos attached), but not too noticeable when looking at the whole box as a whole. After 11 weeks I contact them (end of November) and was informed that my gown was being finalized that week and would be shipping out to me within the week. About 1.5 years into marriage I finally decided I wanted to preserve my wedding dress, and I didn't have anyone local to me in NC that was transparent about the process and cost of doing so on their websites. I travel a lot for work, so the thought of having to call a bunch of places and talking through it over the phone one by one was out of the question. I was a little leery about shipping off this precious cargo, but with a bit of research I found that's what many of the dry cleaners do anyway (just at a surcharge). Almost everyone I found online claimed to have the same process. Of the reputable-seeming options there were a few reasonable options - and a few ridiculously priced ones. BridalKare was one of the reasonable ones. I debated between them and another that was $20 more but seemingly the same, so BridalKare got my business. Overall, the process is easy and fairly quick. My dress seems to have been fully cleaned, and the box makes for a nice presentation to family, friends, or future generations that might see it. Here is where they lost a star: 1. Transparency/Clarity: Most places pay shipping both ways and provide some kind of envelope for you to send the dress to them. BridalKare does not. I might have misunderstood as I read through thr website details, but I had to find a box to stuff my ball gown and veil in to which I could affix their prepaid label that I printed myself. Luckily I still had a big enough one from some Macy's china, but if I had to go buy one I would be irked. Similarly, they say you can send up to 3 add'l items for free. I read this as they would also freshen up the veil/garter/etc without nickel and diming. Nope. They will literally place up to 3 items AS-IS (aka dirty & used) in the box with your now clean gown. I can see tiny wood splinters nicely preserved in my boxed veil. Lovely. Which brings me to... 2. Nickel & Diming: You can get those items cleaned for an additional fee. Really?! Why not just provide the basic cleaning and only charge for stain removal/repair? Similarly, you cannot actually inspect your items when they are returned because taking them out of the plastic sealed box eliminates the effort to preserve them. BUT you can send a $5 additional check to get a text message of pictures once it is clean and before it is boxed so that you can rest assured the job was done. For real - just include this "service" as part of the package even if you make it $5 more at the beginning! At the end of the day, the task got completed and they are perfectly fine to use. However, if I were to do it again I would potentially use the $20 one if my veil would get freshened and they would handle all packaging. read more

I am so pleased with my wedding dress, veil and garter preservation! It arrived today and looks absolutely stunning. My dress was five layers with the outside being lace. It also has a train. I wasn't sure if they would be able to get this all into a box! ha! It has been taking up half my downstairs closet for awhile and I decided to finally have it preserved. They were wonderful. Took me almost a year, 2008 - 2009, researching different places to preserve my wedding gown, and this company I had saved in my favorites for when I was ready to send in my dress. Needless to say it took 6-years to do it, in addition to moving from the west coast to the east coast 3 years ago. I finally decided to send in my gown late last month. The steps were super easy. Went online, paid the required amount, received an email from I assume the owner the next day confirming they received payment and to look out for a purple envelope. I received said envelop in the mail, within a few days, and due to a busy schedule waited almost a week to send my gown in. As nervous as I was, I sent in my gown and within about a week or week in a half turn around time, I received my gown preserved in a beautiful box, which my husband had to sign for stating that it was received. Also note that prior to sealing my box for shipment out I did call Bridal Kare to see if I could add any other item for preservation. The staff was very friendly on answering my questions. Perfect! Easy to mail out, quick turn around, dress in box on bodice, looks great! I was a very skeptical with all the terrible reviews, but my mom had already paid for the service. We took an extra precaution to put my name and info on a safety pin on the zipper so it couldn't get lost. We packed it in plastic inside the box to ensure no rain would ruin it on the way there. I had a very expensive personalized appliqué hand made for my dress and it appears they took great care with this piece as I can see it in the window of the preservation box. The dress appears well cleaned, from what I can see. The bottom hem is shown from behind the bodice and looks as clean as when I bought the dress. Yes, I would recommend. Very disheartening to find out it is more expensive to drop off/pick up my gown to this local business rather than to ship it. When I asked why the price difference, the shop (Melissa) explained that the dry cleaner is a different business and it sets its own pricing and it would be more then a direct shipment. Due to things getting lost with shipping I would prefer to drop it off directly, I asked where the cleaner was and she informed me it is in the same building as it was a "sister" company. I was informed it would still be $180 instead of the advertised $165. When I called Wesselmann Cleaners, which is located in the same building to get a quote on their pricing directly, there is a extension to be connected to Bridal Kare. Absolutely great service! I was called out of town for work after I selected Bridal Kare to clean my dress. They worked with me to change the shipping info since I wouldn't be home to sign for the delivery. It was a little strange that you have to include a separate payment (only $5) to get pictures texted to you of your clean dress before boxing, but absolutely worth it! I didn't see that service offered by other companies. You do have to provide your own box to ship initially, but even with that cost included, they are less expensive by far than most other places I found. I waited almost a year before having my dress cleaned, and they did an amazing job. All the dirt from walking around outside for photos was removed, and the entire dress looks gorgeous. read more

I sent my dress in October of 2021 and have yet to receive my dress back. I filled out all the necessary paperwork and even the card to get text communication (with picture updates) from them when they received it, clean it, and packaged it. They have not once contacted me without me asking about my dress. Thankfully they sent pictures when I asked, but that was in November after they had the dress for a month and I received zero communication after it was delivered. Since then, I have had to contact them every month asking for updates. They are saying that stock is low on boxes, but when I told them that I was fine with a plain white box in November, they didn't send it then. Then in December they said it was next in line, then in January they said they were out of boxes. I'm not sure what is exactly true here but they have a very senimental piece and they have absolutely ZERO care for their customers or remorse. It is ridiculous that they are telling me one thing and then I still have to reach out about my dress. I got my bridal boutique involved and they have yet to receive a response from them. I also have contacted BridalKare once again for an update and I asked for compensation (should be a full refund IMO) and that I would be reporting them to the BBB. I sent my dress out with underarm stains and a lipstick stain. I got it back with underarm stains and a lipstick stain AS WELL AS a broken hook and eye, staple holes in the back and broken ruffle tacking. What did I pay for?! They sent a note card with the dress that says they looked over the stains and tried to remove them but could not. I live in southern ca and I checked a few dry cleaners and everyone of them told me that there was nothing they could do for my dress. Dropped off a few items for dry cleaning and the woman at the counter offered me a discount if I paid ahead in cash. When my husband came back to pick up the items WITH THE RECEIPT, they insisted I didn't pay for them and he had to pay now. Despite having the receipt and ticket, they basically strong armed him into paying $5 (for what, I don't even know...the entire bill was around $10) to release the clothes. They couldn't even explain why he had a receipt showing it was paid in full ahead of time. No one's got time to deal with that kind of crap....I will not be going back. read more

I tried to have it cleaned at my local cleaners who said he has done hundreds of gowns. When I dropped it off and he examined it, he didn't think he could do it b/c of all the beading. I took it back home and searched online and found BridalKare. After reading all the reviews and checking with the BBB, and calling them I decided to take a chance. I am so happy I did. My dry cleaner sent my wedding gown to Bridal Kare to be cleaned and boxed for storage. They lost my gown and blamed it on the UPS driver saying that he never scanned the package. I spoke with their employees and the owner on a few occasions trying to find my gown and they were dismissive and unapologetic at best. This place was great! I reached out to them ahead of time because I had 30 days before my wedding date to clean a gown I had bought used on www.preownedweddingdresses.com. They were super nice over the phone and confirmed they can definitely have the gown cleaned for me within 2 weeks of sending it out. I Sent out my gown on Tuesday the day after Memorial Day and from the time I sent it out that day to the date it was delivered back to my doorstep was exactly 2 weeks. It was great service as well! Trustworthy and thorough. I even put a quick note inside from my conversation with one of the main contacts from the company. They offer 2 types of services, Gown Preservation and Just Cleaning. The difference is minimal, but I didn't need the preservation just yet, so I went with the $129 pricing. All in all I am completely satisfied and happy with the services and I will be using them again after my wedding date on both gowns that I currently own. I would highly recommend especially if you are shipping from the Northeast Area. Shipments from the West Coast may take slightly longer but you can always call ahead and check if they can keep a look out for it. read more

I wanted to post a review because I had a great experience with this company and I was definitely nervous after reading some of the other reviews. I researched some other places in my home town but this was the best deal by far. I sent my payment over the Bridal Kare website and the next day had an email from the company that they would be sending me an envelope with instructions on how to send my dress, just like the website says. I received the envelope just a couple of days later and it had a prepaid UPS stamp inside to send my dress. I put my dress in a box that I had at home(I put my name on the tag of my dress just in case) but there is also a piece of paper included where you write your name, address, ect, so that they know whose dress it is. I took it down to UPS and within 2 weeks I had my dress back. I had an email from UPS that my dress would be arriving on a certain day so that I knew when to expect it and sign for it. When it arrived at my house it was in a total of three boxes. The outside box, then a white box inside of that, then inside of that box is the box the dress is actually in. It looks just like the box pictured on the website and is packaged very nicely. The only thing that I didn't like is that I wanted to take my dress out and inspect it, and the box that the dress is in has a see through window but otherwise is completely wrapped in plastic and has a few white plastic ties surrounding the dress so that it stays in place. I guess some people might just be ok with looking at the front of the dress and assuming its ok but I felt a little OCD about it. Also, maybe this is something you can request(that it not be completely packaged up until you can inspect it?) I ended up opening all of the packaging to make sure that my dress looked ok and it does. 99% of the stains are gone(I had mostly dust and dirt stains on the bottom and some sort of small food stains on the front,as well as fake tanner stains on the top of the dress). I had some flower details on my dress where a couple small stains remain but they are very minimal. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the service and I think its a great deal. read more

I have been trying for over a month to contact this company for updates on my dress and they have done nothing but lied to me. It seems as if they have no idea where my wedding dress is and I shipped it out to them in August and was supposed to expect it by October. It is now January and I have been inquiring about it since December. They have lied and told me that they shipped it or that their computers were down and they could not look up my information. I cannot tell you how heartbreaking and upset I am that not only were they irresponsible with my dress but they do not even have the audacity to tell me what exactly is going on. I am now 6 months pregnant with my first daughter and I will not even be able to save my dress for her for the future because I have no idea where my dress is. Unfortunately, the company has not contacted me again and I plan on seeking legal help for the money I paid for the dress preservation as well as they money I paid for the dress. Pay extra money if you have to to get your dress done by a more reputable place- this was not worth it and I wish I could take back my decision to send my dress to these horrible unprofessional group of people.
