The experience was so much fun! the champagne was great, my bridesmaids and maid of honor had an amazing time! but the service was truly exceptional. Caroline took care of me, and she is literally the Randy from Say Yes to the Dress. She was absolutely incredible and knew exactly what I wanted. I was shocked at how quickly she understood my vision! after showing her just a few pictures, she knew precisely what I was looking for. Although I did not find my dream dress here, I had a few amazing experiences! I shopped here several times in summer of 2024 & all of the staff was super accommodating, flexible & patient as I tried on different dresses. They never made me feel like I was wasting their time. I bought several accessories & flower girl dresses here. Amazing quality! The best experiences was with Caroline & Deb! A private seamstress ruined my wedding dress one week before my wedding. I desperately showed up at bridal chateau two days before the wedding. A new private seamstress did the best corrections on my dress, but it was still off. Caroline & Deb jumped to my rescue!! Literal angels!!! I needed something to cover my dress neckline. It was still uneven & time had run out for more repairs to be made. They had several options ready for me to immediately try on. Caroline knew exactly what to do! She literally saved my day! They just KNEW what I needed. The shawl I purchased looked like it was meant to go with the dress!!! Nobody knew it was a last min addition! Deb came to the rescue asap too! She immediately started matching new buttons to the shawl I was purchasing. She found a perfect match to my dresses buttons! Caroline was amazing! I showed her a Pinterest board of what styles I liked (but wasn't sure of) and she got right to it. I was so nervous to do this since it was my first time ever trying on wedding dresses- and she made me feel so welcomed and understood. She brought in a few dresses to start off with, and with me being the indecisive person I am- I wasn't sure which one to try on first. She picked the first dress she thought I would like the most, and it turned out to be THE dress. I tried on a few after, but nothing topped the very first dress she picked for me. From my experiences, Bridal Chateau does the best job with personalizing the shopping experience. As soon as I entered, I felt welcomed by a chalkboard with my name written on it, then was greeted immediately by the staff. My stylist was friendly, helpful, and patient. The best part of the shopping experiences was: 1. The dresses are organized by price - with dresses on sale beginning around $300+, lots of dresses under $1,000 2. You are given 5 ribbons, and time to browse through the dresses yourself, placing the ribbons on those you want to try on 3. Large fitting rooms with a welcome kit with water, earrings, and mints I would highly recommend giving them a chance if you're shopping for a wedding dress! 1/15/2022 My poor sister-in-law found the dress of her absolute dreams in this shop. She ordered immediately and waited for the dress to come in. Today when she went in to pick up her dress she was met with a dress that is 4 entire inches too small! The store looked at the wrong chart and ordered the wrong size. Instead of rectifying the mistake they made, they blamed her and said that she must've gained weight since it's Covid! Like seriously with that audacity!? She has actually been working hard and lost weight during this time! They told her to get lost and is now stuck with a $1700 dress that is too small that she will have to try to find a seamstress at an extra cost to see if they can get this dress fitted to her..! This type of customer "service" disgusts me and I will not be recommending this shop to anyone! How do you as a co-owner blame the bride for your mistake!? *** UPDATE *** 1/17/2022 4PM Got word from my sister-in-law that today her amazing husband-to-be got in touch with the owner of Bridal Chateau, Beth, and after a nice conversation Beth was able to find the dress in a size larger than what was needed. I am so grateful to Bridal Chateau for an amazing wedding dress shopping experience! I went with a VIB appointment so I could bring my whole entourage and the knowledge of my consultant, Molly, alone was worth it. The VIB package included the use of a giant personal room to show off the gowns and a sizeable changing room (perfect for the pandemic where my entourage could sit comfortably), champagne, a couple of charcuterie boards, and an extended appointment time. Molly was an incredible consultant! Being a plus sized bride I was worried about finding a dress that would look good on me. Molly was able to identify exactly what I was leaning more towards and we were able to naturally get it down to my top two dresses! I appreciate that there was never a rush to purchase the dress the day of. That being said I am so excited that I found my dress!!! I can't wait to wear it at my November 2021 wedding. The staff member that I was assigned to (Kathy) worked so well to find exactly what I was looking for. She was very patient and asked questions to get a full picture of what I wanted. Not only did I have an amazing experience but I found my dress in my first session there!! Bridal Chateau is just so amazing for your special dress. They also provide you with people they frequently deal with for alterations in case you are interested in that. So fast forward mknth later after my wedding and I had the pleasure of speaking with another associate who informed me that they also do dress preservation which I jumped at the opportunity to do. By far my favorite of the bridal shops I've visited in Buffalo, mostly due to their down-to-earth, friendly staff (mostly funny matronly types versus the persnickety 20something model wannabes I've encountered). They didn't even say anything about the illegal coffee I carried into the shop ;) Another pro: they have a great ring system wherein you put a little ring around the hanger of all the dresses you like so that you (or your friends) don't have to lug around all the dresses. Yuck!!! Biggest turnoff for me is when the first question you are asked on a "survey" is "what is your budget?". Second most annoying question "What bridal magazines do you read?" (as if every bride-to-be has been planning her wedding since she was 10 years old --some of us are normal people who are new to this whole thing!) Then you are handed a "gift" of the ugliest, cheapest costume jewelry earrings you've ever seen -no thanks. Once I specified that I do not wish to spend over $2,500, they showed me the (rather small) selection within my price range and left you to pick through the dresses. There wasn't any descriptions, and if you've ever been wedding dress shopping, you know that all it looks like is a bunched up bag of lacey material. It'd be helpful to know what it looks like rather than just blindly choosing a handful to try on. Once I had chosen a few, I disappeared into a room with the sales person and went through the normal procedure of disrobing and and being clipped into a size 12 wedding dress. This sales person was not as careful about having me step into versus swan dive into dresses -she had me stepping into dresses that she should've been hoisting over my head instead - a number of times I stepped on dresses and I thought how unfortunate it is that they aren't being more careful. Not to mention -I had my heels on that I plan on wearing with my dress! Then I walked the 20 feet out to the main area where my mom/mother-in-law were waiting to see the results. (I have to say -a little help with lifting the material while I walked would've been helpful.) My overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I ended up going to Victoria's Bridal instead -much better experience! read more

This was my daughter's last chance at finding a wedding gown in her hometown because she was leaving the next day for the new state in which she lived. We were paired with our consultant, Kathy, who seemed to have a sixth sense about what she wanted. As my daughter tried on dresses, we never felt rushed or pressured into making a decision. We finally found the perfect dress, at a significant discount right off the rack, but it was strapless, and my daughter wanted straps. Kathy brought the most beautiful jeweled straps for her to order and a perfect veil as well. The people at the Bridal Chateau were really lovely. I had a great dress shopping experience. I was about THIS CLOSE to buying my dress from here. They had a great selection. And the consultant I worked with had a really good idea of what they had in the shop and what would look good on me. She definitely hit the nail on the head! The only negatives I can think of were that they played the wedding march song OVER AND OVER. Like, we get it, you're a bridal shop. My mother eventually had to go to the car the escape it... And also my consultant seemed a little stressed when she found out that I'm getting married in five months. I get that that's cutting it close, but I'm getting married six months after I got engaged. I went shopping with a few of my friends who were getting married and looking for their bridal gowns. One of our stops was bridal château. The dresses are very standard and nothing out of the ordinary. Very cookie-cutter. Don't come here looking for anything original. The staff feigns support however essentially just helps you get in the dress and then sits there quietly. They don't make any extra effort to put a veil on you, add some jewelry, or really get to know the brides personality. Not worth the time in my opinion. read more

My sister is getting married out of state and she flew in to find a off the rack dress for her wedding in 2 months. I enjoyed the time that I spent here with her trying on dresses. It was clear that the consultant was focused on the bride and was very knowledgeable about the options that were available. My sister found a beautiful dress and complimenting jewelry in one appointment. The reason that I am not giving them a five star review is that I didn't feel like they involved the folks who were there to support her enough. I asked the consultant if I could make a suggestion on a dress and she responded that she would eventually get to the one in question, rather than just tagging it, saying it was a great choice, and moving on. I absolutely loved my experience at Bridal Chateau! I worked with Cathy both times I went. Cathy was so educated on all the dresses, materials and the designers and was able to answer all of my questions with ease! My first time I had a huge group of all my bridesmaids and family come and Cathy made sure to orchestrate the room so that I expressed how I felt first before everyone else spoke. She listened to everything I said and only gave me dresses that fit into what I was describing. She made me feel like I had a voice in a room filled of loud women (my family haha). Unfortunately the first time I did not find my dress. I then went to nearly 8 other bridal shops all over New York and not one came close to feeling as comfortable and inviting as Bridal Chateau. I received a call from Cathy stating she recently got in a dress that she felt hit all the markers of what I was looking for. Needless to say she was completely right! I came in by myself to go look at the dress and fell in love. I then brought my future sister and mother in-law to see the dress and Cathy made room in her busy schedule to allow me to have the longly awaited moment of saying "yes to the dress". The quality and service provided by Bridal Chateau is unmatched and I cannot thank Cathy and the staff enough for accommodating my indecisiveness and making me feel so confident and happy with my dress! This place deserves 0 stars, but unfortunately that's not an option. A friend of mine found a dress she loved, and the employee ordered the WRONG SIZE. When my friend came in to pick up her dress, which was 4 inches too small in the bust upon trying it on, she was obviously devastated as she had worked so hard to lead a healthy lifestyle up to this point, and knew for a fact that she hadn't gained weight- she had lost it, the employee, Debbie, stated that my friend had obviously "gained weight and didn't notice because of covid, stress, and stretchy clothing". Are you kidding me? A wedding dress shop, covertly body shaming a woman? A woman who isn't overweight to begin with? For their mistake? I don't think so. I am absolutely disgusted with the process my friend went through and the treatment she received. Her soon-to-be husband called and spoke to the owner, who offered a replacement dress in the right size, only to then send a condescending and accusatory email to my friend after the fact. So, now not only does she not know if she will even get the replacement dress as promised, but she has to spend even more money on a seamstress, either way. Bridal Chateau, you know exactly who this woman is. Give her her money back or do the right thing- admit your mistake and do your best to fix it. This fiasco of an experience is forever going to be part of her wedding experience and that is unacceptable. The fact that you thought it was ok to treat a customer like that for any reason, is unacceptable. I dont normally rate a place of business but because of my experience yesterday I just feel I had too, I had a 2pm appointment and dont recall the girls name that helped me...she was a young blonde haired girl...she was so exceptionally sweet and helpful and made my experience wonderful but it wasn't just her there was another lady that sold the jewelry. she was probably one of the most helpful and kindest hearted person I've met, we talked and I told her I wanted jewelry but not earrings because I was wearing my sisters earrings that had passed away....she then told me about butterfly's signafying a loved one and gave me two rhinestone butterfly clips for my bouquet, this truly brought tears to my eyes and made a great experience even better , if you want to feel like the only bride in a busy store I truly recommend bridal chateau the experience was above and beyond anything I'd of expected read more

Unfortunately we will not be returning to the Bridal Chateau. I visited with my mother and sister (the bride) on a weekday, and upon arrival the greeter was friendly and seemed accommodating. We were introduced to a consultant and she spent some time listening to my sister's likes and dislikes, and then we were told we could choose 6 gowns for her to try on. So far so good. Little did we know that 6 was the maximum number of gowns she could try on. We might have been a little bit pickier about the styles we chose if we had known, but at the time my sister had not tried on many dresses and was not sure which style she liked, so she was very open. After trying on the 3rd dress the consultant was pressuring my sister to choose a dress, and she scolded her when my sister expressed an inability to rule out any of the 3 she had tried so far. She went from cold but receptive to cold and snotty, and scoffed when my mother asked if she could put a veil on my sister to get the full effect. By dress #5 my sister was completely over it, my mother and I were over it, and the consultant was barely listening. She even had one of the older consultants take her aside and whisper to her that we were almost at our maximum number of dresses and had to soon be on our way. For such a small bridal shop they should try to be a little bit less obvious. I'm not even mentioning the fact that you have to share a mirror with at least 4 other brides and you can't take any photos. For such a large investment and such a big moment in a woman's life, brides should be treated with more respect. My sister did find a dress she likes, but because of the attitude of the staff we will look elsewhere to make a purchase. read more

I went here today with my bridesmaids to look for dresses. This was the second place we went for bridesmaid dresses and I have been to many places for my own gown. Bridal Chateau was terrible. Everything was terrible, the dresses, the decor and the customer service. When you go to try on dresses for a wedding, it should be an experience. Bridal Chateau was more like a department store, you pull the dresses and do the clippings. There is also no where to sit, I mean can I get a chair?? I had to deal with Bridal Chateau a few years ago when my close friend from work was getting married. On a whim, we stopped by to browse for dresses for her. Pleasantries were exchanges and everyone was "SO HAPPY" to help her. Surprisingly, my friend found a dress she loved quickly which I actually pulled while the saleslady was doing god knows what in the back. While there was some strong arming to try to get her to buy then, she wanted to sleep on it since it was a little over budget, and talk to her fiance. She did eventually come back with her mom to see it and buy it. Next came bridesmaid dresses. Even though I am not really close to the sample size, yet too small for the plus sized samples, I had gone previously to try some on beforehand with the bride where we were pretty much left to our own devices and did not receive much service. We had looked online so she knew what she wanted. She saw some she liked, then we returned with a small group to try some different ones on. Service was slightly better and more involved compared to pointing at a rack and commenting that I wouldn't fit in the samples from us going alone. We looked at different colors and then the bride went home to decide. We had to come back in to get measured and I thought it sort of tacky how they basically measured me like right at the counter in the front of the store. There would have been plenty of space in the side or back fitting room especially because it was winter and I had to take coat/sweater off. Then I looked after my measurements and felt like my hip measure was way off. I am not petite, but I know my hips are not 50".... Thankfully, with the size they ordered where my bust mattered more, it fit and the hips were sort of inconsequential because of the style of the cut. Definitely check what they are doing!! I was lucky and only needed the dress hemmed about an inch and the rest fit fine. I felt like it was an attempt so that I would HAVE to have it taken it. Alterations even for an hemming were still pricey, but ok. Sadly, my friend the bride ran into the most trouble with them with her alterations on her delicate lace dress. After talking up their alternations lady with all these years of experience, she went for the initial one where they had to take in the sides, raise the shoulder straps, shorten it a bit, add some bust cups/lace to the decollete, and put in a bustle. I went with her for the fitting after that first alteration and it was BAD. So bad. My friend was nearly in tears because the bodice was so tight, she could hardly breathe. The cut they made at the shoulder to raise up the 2" wide straps was not even on each side which affected the lace pattern, and the bustle looked tacky. The dress was puckered in places it should not have been and whole thing looked like a middle schooler in home EC class did it for their first project. My friend is picky and was afraid she was expecting too much, but as the voice of reason, I totally agreed. They tried to assuage her fears and said they could fix it up, but there was a lot of passive aggressive talk, as if my friend was expecting too much. No, it looked bad and the alterations were not done with any sort of care. Especially when it was going to be close to $500 for it all in the end. The next time, she went in for the "final fitting" and they would NOT let her try on the dress without payment first. Did they think she was just going to run out of the store with the dress on? Gone was this happy place that acted like they would bend over backwards for you. She was quite angry and actually left, and called me so she had "back up". I went back with her and she paid, tried on the dress and was still not happy which she had been worried sick about it. This was only about 2 weeks before her wedding. We pretty much took the dress and ran. Thankfully, the bride's sister had a good seamstress in Niagara Falls who said she had fixed many Bridal Chateau dresses. I don't know what magic this woman worked, but she totally fixed the dress and put in a much more beautiful bustle, made the bodice and straps look appropriate, and not to mention it was next to nothing in cost. Unfortunately, it was a major cause of stress as the bride then didn't get her dress until the day before the wedding and she was physically worried sick, all thanks to the incompetence of Bridal Chateau. If they are your only local option for ordering, I still would look elsewhere, but run far away before you let them alter a dress for you. read more

wow 1st review huh? that's too bad. anyways, moving on..... this place is the best place in Buffalo to find a wedding dress. i found mine here in 2009 and my sister found hers this year in 2010. i checked out other shops in town but this place seems to be the best value for your $, friendliest and knowledgeable staff, good location (despite road work going on now) and ample hours. it's always packed and there's a good reason why - best place in town for the average bride. the selection is pretty good and they can usually get other dresses and colors if you like them. the tiaras and other veils are way too expensive - you could probably find one online cheaper or make your own. high mark up! the wallpaper is probably the only bad thing about this place and not being able to take pictures in front of the mirrors in your dress. if you're getting married or a friend is, go here first so you can just get it done right and only having to visit one place. i visited a few others while looking for my dress and came back to Bridal Chateau to select the 1st dress i tried on. i heard that David's Bridal is quite the opposite..... read more

Amazing, amazing customer service! I needed to order a dress from out of state and was not able to try on the specific dress I needed, so I was pretty worried about ordering the right size. The consultant, Beth, who helped me over the phone walked me through the sizing and helped me choose the size that would be best for me. I think she could tell I was still a little hesitant, so after we got off the phone she emailed me saying she tried that dress on (since she is a similar size to my body type) and she reassured me that I was ordering the right size. She went sooo far above and beyond to make sure I was ordering the right thing. I have never had any business take the initiative to go so far beyond the average customer service help. They carried all the dresses into the fitting room, removed any we wanted, asked if we needed help often, brought mirrors and a box to stand on. They were all so polite and professional. They even helped to match jewelry to the gown. My daughter had never seen such service. Personally I find it rare these days and it was so nice to see again. I visited Buffalo after Thanksgiving to visit family. While I was home I made an appointment at Bridal Chateau. A little back story, I have a very ill cousin, who will not get the chance to be married. My aunt wanted her to have the experience of shopping for a wedding dress so we made it a girls day with all the aunts, sisters and a few cousins. I spoke a number of times on the phone with the ladies at Bridal Chateau explaining how important of a day this was, and coming from NYC my expectations are high. I couldn't have been happier with our experience. We were greeted so warmly by the ladies, and I was immediately introduced to Angela. She was everything I expect out of a consultant. First, they gave us our own private room in the back to accommodate my cousin. While waiting for some family to arrive, she showed us around the parlor. We were given an hour and a half appointment which was plenty of time. I tried on 9 dresses and Angela had great options for everything, whether it be a belt or veil. She knew what she was doing and I appreciated it so much. My family was comfortable and taken care of, and that was a top priority. Their selection for dresses is excellent. They have multiple styles and of course the most expensive dress was my favorite. I cannot express my gratitude of the ladies at Bridal Chateau that made the experience something that meant a lot for all of us. We thank you so much. read more

My appointment at Bridal Chateau was outstanding. Molly took care of me during my appointment and I cannot say enough good things about her!! She made me feel so comfortable from start to finish. It was very evident that cares about the brides that come into the store! She even was able to squeeze me in at the end of the day after going to a horrible bridal shop to measure me and order my dress! I would recommend this store to everyone!! read more

My daughter had an appointment today at Bridal Chateau. We drove from Rochester to select the dress of her dreams. And she found it!....with some great care and attention from Jessie. She did an amazing job finding the exact style and fit my daughter was looking for and then added subtle differences in materials, lace, neck line, etc., to show some variety and make sure we had all the options available to us. She did an incredible job and my daughter found a beautiful gown at a very reasonable price. We also selected four bridesmaids gowns. We were not rushed and were treated very special. Poor Customer Service at it's best! I normally do not write reviews (either good or bad) about anything but after my horrible experience this weekend I felt compelled to. I am an out of town bride who came in for my first dress fitting. When I ordered the dress, I was convinced to order the next size up by the staff. Despite my concerns and hesitation, they assured me that their seamstress would be able to fix any problems if the top was too large. When I put on the dress, sure enough the top was too big. The only thing holding the dress up was the corset being tied tight around my ribcage area. When I pointed out the issue to the seamstress, her response was "that's just the way the dress is made" and suggested I put larger cups in the dress to fill the gap! She was rude and unwilling to fix the problem when I was clearly unhappy with the way the dress was fitting me. I even explained that had I know this when I ordered the dress, I would have ordered the smaller size. She did not show one ounce of empathy towards my concerns and was arguing against my requests. My Aunt is a retired seamstress/wedding dress maker and I had her accompany me to this appointment. After ruling out the option to take the dress in on top, the seamstress in a snippy tone said we could "order a new dress in a smaller size if we like". While she was out of the room my Aunt found a solution and pinned the dress to make it fit perfect. Had she not been there I do not know what I would have done. All the while when this was happening, the Manager came in and told us the store was closing. Had the Seamstress been willing to listen to my concerns and not be so dismissive, my appointment would have ended on time. I truly feel this experience was ruined by the lack of professionalism by the staff! This was supposed to be an exciting day in my life, but it was very far from that! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this store for the pure fact that their staff is EXTREMELY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! While their dress selection is large, there are a million and one bridal salons that offer the same thing. After all it's about making the bride happy on their wedding day. The first appointment was awesome, and I purchased my bridal gown. However, the first fitting was rushed, and I had some concerns about the alterations because I was told to go up an extra size. The dress was huge, my top half was everywhere, and the corset was pulled so tight you couldn't hardly see the detail. But I was assured everything would be fixed. At my final fitting, the manager wanted us to pay before we even saw my gown!! That was a huge turn off. Once I got it on, I was not thrilled to say the least. I have a large bosom and at the first fitting they convinced me to go braless and sew in cups. But not enough was taken in and I have a huge gap in the front displaying my cleavage for all to see. They said it was because of my breasts, and that maybe I should take the cups out and wear a bra. Hello ok already paid for the cups to be put in!! They also said I should sew straps on to give me more support. Again, if I had wanted straps I would have bought a dress with straps!! I ended up leaving unhappy and will be seeing another seamstress to fix the upper portion of my gown. I wish I hadn't blown a few hundred dollars to have an inexperienced staff not do what was promised to my gown. I would not recommend this bridal salon to anyone!! read more
