This place has the best pizza. The uff-da is our favorite. Service used to be slow but has gotten really good.

The Dock - Really good pizza on Round Lake!

I walked up to the bar, was greeted by a woman with a sour look on her face, and ordered a non-alcoholic Bloody Mary. I asked for it to be spicy. I've been ordering these drinks with and without alcohol for about 40 years now: This was the only undrinkable one I've encountered. It tasted like Red Hot on the rocks. I took a couple of sips and had to go throw up in the bathroom. Not kidding. My stomach and mouth were on fire. I'm still sick over an hour later. The two people I was with ordered food and were happy with it. I only had this horrible drink. When the waitress came back a couple of times, my full drink sat in front of me. She didn't ask if something was wrong with it. The second time she came back to the table I told her she could take the drink, that it was not drinkable. She said their mix is hot. Understatement of the year! There aren't a lot of people up north who like things spicy. I, however, do. She was kind enough to leave the full glass and bring a bill for $8.50. I paid it. On the way out, I handed the full drink to the sour faced lady that had originally "greeted" me at the bar. I told her it was so hot that it was undrinkable. No offer of a refund. I told her it was a nice way to spend $8.50. Now I remember why we stopped going here.

Parking can be a bit hairy as it's right downtown and close to a one way street, you may have a little walk but not far. Inside seems small but if you explore further back, there lies the restrooms and another room with larger tables for big families or for meetings. You have the option of putting your order in at the counter or, surprisingly, there are staff that will come to your table. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Prices were a bit steep I felt, but so is everything at the moment. I spent about $15 for the pizza and salad bar combo (which I strongly suggest) and a drink. There's a good selection of bottled drinks. The salad bar was stocked and fresh filled with lots of interesting selections including potato salad. They even offered little mini brownie bites! You also had the choice between 2 soups, and 2 pastas. There were at least 4-5 pizza selections as well. You won't go away hungry. I will say the pizza was just OK in my opinion. It's sufficient. The crust lacked ant substance for my taste and was a bit too chewey. The red sauce seemed non-existing and/or was a bit too acidic. Could have used a tad more sweetness. The toppings were generous and tasty although. I'm not typically a sausage person but you could definitely taste the cardamom. The chicken wild rice pizza with white sauce was an interesting surprise! Give it a try. Sorry, I didn't remember to take any pix. I'll add then when I return.

I didn't have the greatest expectations for pizza in Cloquet, but the reviews were good, and we really wanted pizza. We ended up getting two twelve inch and two ten-inch pizzas, which was way too much for four of us. All the pizzas were great, except perhaps the pesto pizza which didn't have enough interest for my taste. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us regularly while we waited. It did seem to take a while, but I think there were a lot of take-out orders while we were there.

This is a small but well kept restaurant not far off 35. There is a large parking lot and some patio seating. The service here was quick and friendly! We were not rushed while I was trying to figure out what to order. I opted to get the Caesar salad and garlic Parmesan wings to start. The salad had plenty of croutons which my kids loved! The garlic Parmesan wings were juicy and crispy but I couldn't taste garlic or Parmesan on these wings. The pizza was your classic midwestern thin crust. The crust was chewy and crisp and the edges! This pizza was tasty and while I wasn't drinking alcohol since I was the only driver, I suspect that a cold beer with this pizza would be superb! If you are looking for a no frills tasty pizza joint just outside of the hustle and bustle of Duluth, this is definitely your place!
