Absolute perfection! The hosts are the nicest, most gracious folks you'll ever meet and the inn is positively spotless. The food is amazing and there are so many thoughtful touches. Warm and cozy, 5 star luxury in Mt. Morris!

The Wilson House - Broiled haddock

The Wilson House is under new ownership this year, and hopefully this time it sticks because it's…read morethe best effort yet. The burgers are great. Love the truffle fries and the giant pretzel, especially with the loganberry cream cheese. Our pickier son really liked the chicken fingers when I brought him. Usually he barely touches his food, but finished most of his dinner and even the leftovers, which almost never happens. Still need to try dessert. Drinks are great. They just added a specialty French 75 that's great. There's a spacious bar area with seating and a separate dining area if you want something brighter and quieter. Great service.

The service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, due to the kitchen not being able to keep up, they had to stop taking orders for about 30 minutes; so, it was a bit of a wait to order our food and then receive it. We ordered some apps and main dishes including colossal mozzarella sticks (that naming is an embellishment as they were only slightly larger than standard), buffalo pockets, Pittsburgh salad, broiled haddock and opened fade steak to name a few. The apps were good, but nothing special. The waitress was helpful in making sure my mother was able to the have a gf meal; she had the Pittsburgh salad with honey and mustard brought to use as a dressing. My mom enjoyed it. I had the baked haddock with sweet potato fries. It was cooked nicely and the fries were good; crisp outside, soft inside. Three people ordered the open face steak and they all liked it, though not all the steaks were found to be cooked as ordered; they were overcooked from what was requested. I found the bathroom to need some more attention to detail with cleaning; the chair rail, baseboard, handicapped bars and top of toilet tank were all very dusty.
