After the lights flickered a bit we waited another 15 minutes watching other patrons get served she says some shit in German then thankfully another guest a delightful woman told us that the electrical was off in the kitchen and food wasn't available... At all. After which I saw this moron bring out meat and cheese plates to not one not two but THREE different tables. 3 euros for a cup of tea and beyond shit service? Yea right. In short if you're going to have some coffee and some food walk right down the block to coffee mamas for better prices and service. Maybe it was because we didn't speak the language maybe it was because we were American or maybe it was my skin color either way I'll never be back to this joke of a cafe. Cheers.

I was jealous... ...from the moment I walked in. If I had this cafe below me, I'd be a happy camper (and perhaps a little rounder). Cafe Ruffini has two parts: it's split into a "take away" portion where you can point at a window and take cafe eats with you if you're on the go. OR you can grab a seat inside. I was here midday and it was packed! We had to wait around for a little bit. There was something for everyone whether you were sitting for a cappuccino & a cake or there for a whole meal. Upon entering, you'll see an enticing case of pastries. As a non-German speaker/ tourist, I was pretty reluctant to ask, but there was charming man, that spoke enough english to help me with my curious sweet tooth. I picked the walnut cake (see pic). It seemed like the popular thing. By the last bites of it, I saw 2-3 others had ordered the same. If you want to spruce up your normal coffee routine, get the amaretto latte. It's a bit sweet, but a treat to top off a meal along with that walnut cake. Ok...I think I've just convinced myself that I need to go back soon. Walnut cake + amaretto latte. One more thing, I think they screen films there at night and/or have live music too. This might be another excuse to go back. They have an extensive wine list available online. Good wine selection and good food (organic if you care), in the summertime the rooftop terrace is usually open (self-service though, but very nice for sundowns or breakfast). Often quite full, especially on weekends - if you want to come with 4+ people better to reserve a table. Be aware though, that the many good reviews received by this place not necessarily mean that this is a perfect cafe. If you see it from the outside or take a quick first impression look inside you may wonder if this is the right place - I think the reviews just show that people like to hang out here, the atmosphere is nice despite the dated interior. :-)

The iced mokka is so good, I stir the whipped cream in and steal some of the mint leaves from my daughters drink and smash them in for a minty freshness. The strawberry matcha is just gorgeous withits distinctive layers. The staff are artists with the deisns on the cappuccino! Now for the yummy part - we had toast with berry marmalade and cream cheese, crab salad, and an artichoke and tuna. My youngest had a chocolate and plain crossaint. My personnel favorite was the crab salad. A must try if you go to munich!

This despite I paid a tip this and other times i was there. Before I already noticed that she rolled her eyes because it's been many times that I ask cold coffee or hot and I get the opposite, these youngsters are sleeping or flirting n and smiling their friends, they carry trays with the phone pressed between their shoulder and cheek which could cause all food to fall...when I reached the manager she told me that the waitress thought that because I have a bag hanging on my shoulder I was potentially lying so not only she's certified waitress but also a doctor!!! Who is she to judge. Problem is in Germany there's a lot of self service that's is tipped, they receive their salary's and don't survive on tips. However some human friendly staff is what Aran misses gigantically, so avoid if you don't want the waiters to assume whether you're sick or not, the manager said come have a drink will help you... too late, your waitress is obnoxious and should limited of any human contact. None deserves this treatment.
