The coffee and cakes were okay, but the staff were unfriendly and seemed completely unmotivated.
In the service industry, making an effort to treat customers with friendliness and respect should be a given. Unfortunately, I got the impression that the staff know customers will buy their already overpriced coffee and cakes anyway, so they don't even bother making an effort to be friendly.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to hire motivated, friendly employees and provide them with proper training. Friendliness, respect, and patience should be basic requirements for anyone working in customer service. Is it really too much to ask for questions to be answered without an irritated attitude, preferably with a smile and a little patience? After all, answering customers' questions is literally part of the job.
The staff's behaviour makes customers feel as though they have made a mistake by choosing to visit this café in the first place.
You would think the staff had every reason to be in a bad mood, yet the café doesn't even open until around noon. Even if most of the employees are older, that is no excuse for treating customers rudely.
Making eye contact, smiling, and showing patience are the absolute basics of customer service. I hope the people responsible read this review and seriously reconsider how they run things and treat their customers. read more
