Just about every German town and every German train station has a Ditsch bakery, a regional chain that is good enough but not great. At least you can say they're consistent.
I usually stop at Ditsch if I'm rushing to catch a train and want a quick snack. Their pretzels are more than acceptable with their crusty exterior and soft, salty interior, and their PizzaSnacks, a flatbread topped with sweet tomatoes, cheese and meat or veggies, are a thing of beauty (I don't know why I love them but I do).
This isn't gourmet German bakery food but it's not an awful choice. It's good in a pinch and will satisfy your cravings. Bonus points because of all the vegetarian options, including a pepper topped PizzaSnack that is my go-to favorite.
