My driveway was damaged from the weight of the forklift, reached out to the store and reported the damage to multiple managers, now they refuse to take responsibility for their negligence. Now I have to pay out of pocket to replace a new driveway. I highly advise all residents that are having materials delivered to their homes, to be present, and insist that the driver needs permission from you to operate heavy machinery on your property, or sign a waiver disclosing that you are not holding them responsible for any damages. I certainly was never given this option. Not a satisfied customer!

Long story short: I was doing a multitude of repairs/remodeling in my house in Texas and came to this Home Depot over the Christmas break at least 5 times in the week and a half that I was in McAllen. There was a young lady in particular that worked in the flooring department that answered every dumb question I had and was patient with showing me color suggestions for tiles and tile materials. I hate that I forgot her name (maybe early 20s, short, short hair) but she was so nice and helpful during a process that, for me, is stressful and not enjoyable. Other employees were also very helpful. I also had to buy kitchen countertops while I was in Tucson for pickup at this Home Depot location, and Ruben at the Pro-Desk was so helpful at suggesting material that was in their inventory (because the countertops I originally wanted were non-existent at this location). Better yet, he followed up with me when he had promised to. I am doing research and planning for my wedding in McAllen, and people in the Valley do not follow up when they say they will (wtf?) yet the folks at this home depot keep it uber professional. Here's how they racked up: Both Lowe's were cooler, cleaner and tidier than either Home Depot. Someone came to help us immediately at both Lowe's, but it took over 20 minutes at one HD and tracking someone down at the other to get any attention. The selection was slightly better at Lowe's and they had more in stock for next-day delivery. Both Lowe's attendants seemed more knowledgeable and confident than those at HD. To be fair, they both had almost identical products and very similar maintenance services. They both have south and north locations, but since we're having to focus on minute details, Lowe's offered a generally more pleasant experience.

They did come to check it, said they would have to order it. When they came, all the panel lights would stay lit. When he opened it to fix it, he broke a wire, I saw it broken. Closed it quickly and left, saying he needed another part. Then my stepson got an email, saying we had an infestation, not covered. we have no roaches or ants that could get in there. Also, when he left, i plugged in back in and no lights came on. Will never shop at Lowes again. Wish i could rate then minus stars, but have to give it one. Not that they deserve it.

There is a COVID protocol in place at this time (2/2021) so masks and social distancing are enforced. During my latest visit, I brought in the old piece to show what I was looking for. While they do not carry the valve stem I needed, the clerk was kind enough to identify the make and part number for me and tell me where I could find it at a big box home improvement store. For that, I will always be grateful. I was able to find it where he said, and was able to finish my repair successfully. I had already been to three other stores, including one of their major competitors just down the road. I would not have stopped at the other plumbing supply except I was rather desperate and just happened to see them on the way. By contrast, the competitor's employee was less than helpful, shooing me away after telling me they don't carry the part. I am grateful that at RGV Plumbing Supply, their employees will go out of their way to help. Thank you!

I was not familiar with the layout of this store as I usually shop at another closer location. It was near closing time, and employees were busy bringing in items from outside. This Lowes had the particular AC I was looking for. Finding it was challenging, but I did. It was also challenging to find a flat cart with which to move it, so I wound up "touring" most of the store. Thankfully, I tend to enjoy walking through Lowes. When I checked out, only self check was available. The clerk attending the self check offered get someone to help me load the AC. I declined since it was only 55 lbs. The parking lot was not very well lit, but the store was clean and pleasant. Where they could improve is having people available to help direct customer to the aisle that has what they need. That could have saved me a good 15 minutes of wandering around.
