Have been there many times bc it is so close to home. Not once have we received decent service. Never get a greeting upon entering the building, even with two employees not doing anything at the cash registers. Also, if you want help carrying heavy bags, you have to ask for help from the guy employee who is just standing around... they never think to offer help.
One young husky girl employee walks right past us at the entrance several times, never asking us if we need help.
Have gotten a chocolate candy bar there, and it was all melted and deformed. I returned it, and they didn't care.
Ordered three sets of keys made, and only one worked.
One time the older woman employee stood in middle of and aisle w hands behind her back while I and a slow walking disabled person w a cane had to walk around her, not asking if we needed help.
Young guy employee didn't know where anything in store was.
Long haired guy in lumber yard never smiled, told us to pull in back, but did not say what area of two rows. Just handed us the plank n didn't put it in bed of pick up for us, nor offered a red tag bc it stuck out of bed of pick up. It looked like there were no other customers in the area at the time.
Every time we get lousy help.
I would like to meet the owner, to see what a horrible boss he/she must be, to hire and keep employees like that. Maybe they are all related, and that's why they act that way... sorta like the way politicians are in the RGV!
I would rather drive to Lowe's or Home Depot in Weslaco, or Matt's. I hate this place.
UPDATE: September 2015. I decided to change my tack. I walk in with a big smile, and am polite. Gotten great help from the male staff. Eli fixed my two screen doors there, and told me how to adjust them.
They have a cardboard recycling bin in the back where I'm getting boxes for packing to move, after they told me I could.
Parking on Biz 83 is dangerous, and you can't see while backing up onto the busy street.
Great selection of stuff there. read more
