My stepson bought my wife and I a washing machine. He paid for the three year extended warranty. After 14 months the control panel went out. They did come to check it, said they would have to order it. When they came, all the panel lights would stay lit. When he opened it to fix it, he broke a wire, I saw it broken. Closed it quickly and left, saying he needed another part. Then my stepson got an email, saying we had an infestation, not covered. we have no roaches or ants that could get in there. Also, when he left, i plugged in back in and no lights came on. Will never shop at Lowes again. Wish i could rate then minus stars, but have to give it one. Not that they deserve it. read more

The "customer service " is the worst at this store. They transfer you then let it ring and ring. They will pick up to put you on hold and then let it ring and ring until they hang up. I spent 25 minutes doing this today and never spoke to anyone except for the initial person who was very rude. I am so frustrated with the lack of professionalism at Lowe's. I will never shop at this location and will do my best to never go to any Lowe's again. Update: the above review resulted in a LOWE'S customer service representative leaving me a profanity laced voicemail. I would love to share that with the store manager as a "teachable moment " but I'm having difficulty finding a contact name. Saturday's ASSISTANT MANAGER ANDY WAS RUDE! Stopped by and my sister saw a dishwasher on sale, and she asked a man at customer service how she could purchase it. His reply was aggressive, "You can do this here, BUT YOU NEED TO TAKE IT NOW! She then told him that if the dishwasher didn't fit in her vehicle, she could get a truck. Assistant Manager Andy's aggressive/rude reply, "I'LL GIVE YOU EXACTLY ONE HOUR TO PICK IT UP AND IF YOURE NOT HERE, I'M RETURNING THE SALE!" My sister complained about the treatment and even called it in and complained. Someone is supposed to call her to discuss Assistant Manager ANDREW's tone and aggressive response. I will give you an update as soon as we know it. And this after my non-service at Lowe's in McAllen. Apparently, Lowe's has management from Corpus & Kingsville in stores at the moment, and you would think that any management position would know how to treat his/her customers! Horrible service. We've had to wait here for our blinds to be cut for 2 hours when we were just supposed to pick them up ready to go.

Lowes use to be one of my favorites. Don't know what is going on with these managers. A week ago I bought a $2000.refrigerator, worst service ever. I have very good credit and passed but they couldn't print out the temporary card. Had to pay cash and then they would put it on my card when it came in. And today they had a clearance of 50%off on Halloween decor and Rocky the manager only wanted to give me 10% when there sign said on all decor. Maybe he wanted it for a family member. Will never shop there again. Will try Home Depot! read more

I have found this place to be a bit nicer than home depot. It almost feels like they have more of a higher end product than that you would find at its competitors. For example they had much nicer lighting options than anywhere else we have gone. They also had a few more door options for words seem to be a more modern kind of look. They just seemed a bit short on staff which can be frustrating when you need a product or have a question of where to find something that you need for your project. read more

Okay. I love coming to Lowes in Pharr. Because it is closer than Home Depot and it's clean. BUT! It is almost impossible to find someone to help you. The other day I stood at the "key making" area for about 10-15 minutes with no one in sight. The Service girl, I think, was calling people, but no one came. She had to leave her customer to copy a key for me! About a week later my wife went to the same store and could not find anyone to help her find her item. She told me that ONE employee that had a line of 20 people (exaggerating) was trying to help everyone. How can you have a store of that size and only a hand full of people working! read more

It really is true that Lowe's is marketed to women while Home Depot targets men. My mom and I went to both Lowe's and both Home Depots in search of a spare freezer last weekend. Here's how they racked up: Both Lowe's were cooler, cleaner and tidier than either Home Depot. Someone came to help us immediately at both Lowe's, but it took over 20 minutes at one HD and tracking someone down at the other to get any attention. The selection was slightly better at Lowe's and they had more in stock for next-day delivery. Both Lowe's attendants seemed more knowledgeable and confident than those at HD. To be fair, they both had almost identical products and very similar maintenance services. They both have south and north locations, but since we're having to focus on minute details, Lowe's offered a generally more pleasant experience. read more

The store is not a bad place but it does have a horrible employee. I had a really bad experience with Richard Pena at the Pharr store. I have no idea what his position is, but he was extremely rude and very unprofessional. I shop there frequently and have never had any issues with any employees. This place is terrible. They over charged me. The original price for the storage containers I bought was $7.98. The "new" price was reduced to $6.98. When I went back to have the difference refunded to me they child working customer service made me wait 20 minutes until I got frustrated and left. Called the manager and all he would say was, "Oh. Sorry about that." And he wanted me to drive 20 miles back to his store to collect a total of $4.28. I told him to keep the money. I got ripped off. Plain and simple. Piss poor customer service. I know they dont hire rocket scientists but the genetically inferior employees at Lowe's are simply breathtaking. Dumbest people in the RGV. Avoid this store at all costs. Home Depot has better service and better prices. And Home Depot doesn't argue with its customers when they're wrong. They just admit they're wrong and then they make it right. But not Lowe's.
