Before applying it, I learned that my yard had a fungus and if I applied the weed n feed, the fungus would grow out of control and spread. He denied the return, then inspected the bag for holes or usage, then tells me he has to charge me 15% restocking fee. I made sure I wasn't going to be charged this In the first place. That it was an honest mistake and that I'd be back really soon so I can purchase a sprinkler system and shop there for all my future yard needs. This guy was an asshole and just a rude dickhead. He mate it seem like he owns the place and talked down to me. I yanked back my receipt and gave him a piece of my mind. He tried to be an as sole one more time as I left, saying "have a nice day" in a severe sarcastic way so I told him, "yeah and f you back! Waste of my time and money!" I had almost polar opposite experiences from the other reviewers of this particular Home Depot. I…read morealmost come to expect bad or non-existing customer service in the Valley so the employees at this location really surprised me. Long story short: I was doing a multitude of repairs/remodeling in my house in Texas and came to this Home Depot over the Christmas break at least 5 times in the week and a half that I was in McAllen. There was a young lady in particular that worked in the flooring department that answered every dumb question I had and was patient with showing me color suggestions for tiles and tile materials. I hate that I forgot her name (maybe early 20s, short, short hair) but she was so nice and helpful during a process that, for me, is stressful and not enjoyable. Other employees were also very helpful. I also had to buy kitchen countertops while I was in Tucson for pickup at this Home Depot location, and Ruben at the Pro-Desk was so helpful at suggesting material that was in their inventory (because the countertops I originally wanted were non-existent at this location). Better yet, he followed up with me when he had promised to. I am doing research and planning for my wedding in McAllen, and people in the Valley do not follow up when they say they will (wtf?) yet the folks at this home depot keep it uber professional. Years ago I had a side business of artificial plants and flower arranging, and made swags, wreaths, and all kinds of arrangements for home decoration. I took pride in using high quality materials. Hobby Lobby has some of the best quality and most realistic greenery and flowers I have ever seen. (They also have less expensive lower and medium quality available, but you get what you pay for!) They also have a huge variety of flowers in natural and fashion colors to match your needs. They also have an enormous variety of fabric, ribbons, notions of all kinds, for whatever project you have in mind. I don't sew, but I needed some fabric and material to refresh some mats for a picture for my office and found just what I needed. In the past I did find buttons here to replace some on a favorite shirt. Hobby Lobby does offer custom framing and mat services, however that is quite expensive IMHO. For double mats and new glass for a 31 X 31 print in a frame the quote was $130. I didn't want to spend that much. So I reused the old mats by covering them with fresh materials purchased at Hobby Lobby (I purchased the glass separately elsewhere). It ran me less than $50 and I like it better than with traditional mats. (picture is included). Even if you are not into doing a craft yourself, there are many crafts and decoration items here already finished. It's a great place to browse and get inspired. I enjoy walking around and seeing the different sections by motif: western décor, art deco, shabby chic, old elegance, to sparkly and pink for your little girl's room. The atmosphere is always peaceful. Hobby Lobby also offers party supplies and supplies for special occasions such as a wedding (tiaras, ostrich plume pens, boutonnieres and corsages, etc.) Be aware that there are usually some kind of specials going on, such as 40% off table ware, or 30% off artificial succulents... I got 50% off the gold trim I purchased for my project. There are coupons you can get online as well. So if you think something is priced at more than what you want to pay and are patient it will likely go on sale soon!
