Have you seen the incredible influx of smoothie/energy "tea" drink shops in the greater Bangor area lately? Somehow, all of them seem to tout the same thing. Drinkable nutrition, shakes that replace meals, and teas that provide you with a day-long surge of energy. All for a reasonable 10 bucks a pop!
First of all, these businesses are fronts for a multi-level-marketing company (aka, pyramid scheme) called Herbalife. This company, along with all other MLM's, is dangerous and has a tumultuous history of taking advantage of minority groups, stay at home moms, and people who have a sincere desire to help people. Herbalife has been at the epicenter of numerous lawsuits, and has been investigated by the FTC and found that the vast majority of distributors make no money and actually lose a fair chunk of change. Not to mention health-wise, they offer nothing of actual value other than a placebo effect.
I had a heart surgery a few years back. I've always been able to drink coffee, lattes, and teas with absolutely no harm done to my heart. I tried brewer nutrition and almost immediately, I experienced atrial flutters. Certainly not promising in the slightest.
If I were you, I would avoid this place and MLM's as a whole. Their sparkly lies are deceiving and none of them are substantiated. Anyone who is affiliated with Herbalife is considered an independent contractor and can make all the claims they want about the products and the company itself cannot be held liable if those claims do not come to fruition.
