Kind of on the trendy side. I'm only marking my review at 4 stars be ause it is SO LOUD. Aggressively loud. They put ceramic tile on the walls, cement on the floor, and glass cases of beer on a wall. So no where for the noise to go but in. We could not hear each other on the tall tables, but once we went to a corner table, the leather seating and pillows helped to absorbed it enough to converse. Now, the beer. A great selection, canned and on tap. Good descriptions, and samples. Lots of local brews. We tried a couple different beers, and shared the Korean cheese steak (so good) and the baked brie (unbelievably tasty). They have board games to play, which we did. I like to work up an appetite playing cards against humanity. I will go again, but nit if I'm wanting a quiet place to socialize. More of a light-hearted atmosphere. read more

Cant go wrong with Brew Belly. The food is super good along with their specialty drinks. Everything I had is so delicious and I've been showing them a lot of support by doing curbside pick up. It's very quick and easy and the staff is nice and efficient. I cannot wait to actually dine in and have a drink once quarantine is over until then I will be placing my to go orders. Growing up in Philly Ive had my fair share of cheese steak hoagies. A few of my neighbors recommended brew belly so I gave it a shot. I got the "Whiz Wit" and can say this was nothing like you would get up north. The meat had a lot of chunky fat pieces and lacked flavor the roll I think they got from Safeway next door and the whiz was just poured on top? I was hoping for better but the best around here is the Big Kahuna from Jersey Mikes and thats not saying a whole lot. read more

The STEAK AND CHEESE is one of the best in the DMV. The fries are good too. It's not a traditional server restaurant. You have to walk up to the bar and place your order and tell them what you want to drink. They then give you everything after you pay for it. The beer selection is good too large variety and delicious. The parking is the only downfall this place gets really packed but the parking is limited. Good thing a lot of the folks that come here seem to be locals who walk or else it would be even worse. read more

This is our go to beer store...and we live 30mins away haha. Honestly their selection is just the best and then of course, it's their cheesesteaks. Man oh man, can they make some darn fine cheesesteaks. Their brussel sprouts are also great. They also have a great system down to deal with the current pandemic environment. Their CheeseSteaks are as good if not better than Jim's Steaks on South St. in Philly. Also love the pretzels and the hot mustard. What a find. And 30+ beers on tap and more in bottles and cans. Great customer service also. I had the Wiz-Wit and another time CheeseSteak Provolone-Wit. Both great. Get the hot peppers to top the sandwich off. We always order takeout from here and have generally been happy with the quality. We usually order the 108 or some other cheesesteaks. This time the steak was tough, fatty and not great quality. I have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Brew Belly for a while and finally got a chance to check it out on New Years Eve. Like others have mentioned, the setup is different than your standard pub and perhaps even awkward when you walk in. But, the concept is really cool, the staff is friendly and they'll explain your options including how to order beer, food etc. Brussel sprouts, meat and cheese plate and cheesesteak were all great compliments to the wide array of beer. Games are fun and I think a trivia night would work well here. My only request is more blondes/Hefeweizen on tap. The fridge selection is amazing, though. It's like being a kid in a candy store! I finally made it to Brew belly and I'm so excited to share the love here. So many delicious options here but let's talk about the most important item on the menu - cheesesteak. Wow. Truly one of the best I've tasted in MoCo. It's quality meat and they DO NOT skimp. I went with the classic wit whiz (grilled onions & house made cheese whiz) - It was deeeelicious and definitely tasted like a true cheesesteak from Philly. We also tried the cheese curds & the Texican bowl (had to have some greens on the table to balance out all the carbs, duh) nothing disappointed. The dipping sauce for the fries & cheesecurds was CRACK and I could definitely use some more of that in my life. Sadly I was here on a lunch break so I wasn't able to hang out and try some of the beers but I'm definitely coming back!!! read more

Went here on a Friday night and it was definitely busy! Had a lot of fun! The food was great, we ordered a route 108 and the fries with crab along with the Mexican fries.. everything tasted great! Beers were all good along with their one liquor drink they have. They have board games to play along with high top tables or small sitting tables. Plenty of room to stand. Love the shirt I bought from here! Prices were good! Staff was very friendly. Parking is kind of hard to find but nothing you can do about it! Stopped by specifically to try out their Poutine, a french Canadian version of smothered fries, but instead of cheese fries, they are covered in Brown Gravy and chunks of cheddar cheese Delish. You can get several variations but I started with the very basics with bacon on the sides. The bacon is real thick sliced bacon, fried up and diced not crappy bottled bacon bits. I didn't love it on the poutine, but it was incredible when I added it to an omelet. Looking forward to trying their sandwiches when the quarantine is over. read more

Love the drinks (extensive whiskey, beer, cider and wine choices), but the food options are very limited for me since Brew Belly doesn't really have any gluten free options. Not its fault that I have celiac disease and can't eat gluten, but that's the reality. About the only things I can eat at Brew Belly are the chili dog and the fries, which are great. I ate the hot dog and left the roll, which has gluten. The staff is great and thoughtfully told me that the cheesesteaks had wheat (gluten) in various forms. I might go back for one of their great selections of Bourbon, but it's not a restaurant which I can eat at unless I just want a chili dog. read more

This is a genius spots that I believe only sells Maryland beer for their beer options! One of the only spots that represents their state proudly! I came here with my girlfriend for their Summer late hour deals which started at 10:30pm and all the beers were 50% off! Literally only paid $3 for a pint of beer! We also got the Moco Cheesesteak sub, Fry Basket, and Crispy Brussel Sprouts. The food was absolutely delicious! It's obvious that they not only care about their drinks, but also the quality of their food! Def get some snacks to go along with your beer. We also got some Black Label Whisky too for about $10. I met a friend for lunch here this past Saturday and was pleasantly surprised with the food, ambiance, and friendly staff. The place was full of families, couples, with a range of ages, but definitely seems like a nice spot for Olney. You order at the bar and they give you a sign for your table. Ours was TLC as this month it's female bands. They switch up the signs each month. We ordered today's batch cocktail, which was a delicious vodka mint lemonade, the jumbo soft pretzel with cheese, and two Wiz Wits. We both added lettuce, and my friend also added tomatoes and mushrooms. The mushroom upcharge was .50 and they were friendly about adding it. You know how some hipster places give you the hairy eyeball if you tweak the order. Total was $ 43 plus $ 10 tip (you get to choose whatever increment via Square or whatever program they use). One of the nice young fellows offered to wipe down a high chair for my daughter which wasn't necessary since I have one of those high chair covers. Food was delicious, they bring in Amoroso rolls from Philly, and the sirloin was chopped thin and flavorful. The soft pretzel was fresh and giant indeed. The mustard had some heat to it and the cheese sauce was delightful. Only negative was we parked by the office park as Ricciuti's behind will tow away. The front lot is super small and on a Saturday afternoon it was survival of the fittest to wait for a space and ain't nobody got time for that. I think they encourage people to Uber or Lyft over. Philly Cheesesteaks in Olney? I was as skeptical as anyone else, but was also pleasantly surprised. This place is tucked away on a busy corner of Olney - parking, if available, is cramped, and it always appears to be busy. And for good reason. There's a wide variety of beer, on tap and in bottles, and that enough would be a selling point, but the cheesesteaks are authentic. If you close your eyes and imagine you're on Broad street, and ask everyone around you to put on their thickest Philly accents, you might teleport your tastebuds from Olney to the City of Brotherly Love. Is that 'Gonna Fly Now' playing in my head? But I gotta say, my favorite menu item is the Bavarian Pretzel. Soft, chewy, salty, and as big as a steering wheel. When someone mentions going to Brew Belly, my first thought isn't a cheesesteak, it's that damn pretzel wreaking havoc on my paleo diet. Damn you, Brew Belly. But I'll be back, for sure. read more

We have been to Brew Belly twice in the last month. Beer selections are terrific - the best is the Denizen's Pale Red Ale called Norm. The cheesesteaks are good and the French Fries with gravy and cheese are tops. Go for the food and beer - stay for the games and atmosphere. Only a few quirks stop me from giving this a five star rating - and that is they need more menus and better plates and more cutlery and napkins. read more

I've been to Brew Belly three times now so I feel ready to post a review. The addition of a little brew spot in Olney is welcome, despite the Ale House being just a mile or so away. This is a completely different vibe: Where the Ale House is old school, dark, and comfort food, Brew Belly is young, light, loud, and hipster. The draft selection is extensive and ever-changing. Huge bonus that they serve whiskey flights, too! Seating is not particularly comfortable and the place is WAY too loud. Staff are friendly and they are good about whisking away dirty dishes and empty pint glasses - with the nice addition that since there's no wait service nobody ever pressures you to keep ordering. Yes, as everybody else says, parking can be an issue. And I'm not a fan of the food menu; I wish they would overhaul it and make it lighter, cleaner. It's heavy on meat, grease, and fat. Brew Belly isn't my first choice of destinations in the area but it's a decent option to have. read more

We tried this place twice to sample the highly acclaimed Philly Cheese Steaks. We had the MoCo (1)and the Wiz-Wit (2). First visit, the subs were excellent. Lots of tender juicy steak on a fresh soft roll. Today, however, was a different story. The subs had a lot of meat, but the meat was tough and dry. My sub had a large piece of gristle and to add insult to injury I chomped down on something hard, which appeared to be a bone chip. Not sure why the great disparity in quality. They were not very busy today. We also tried on multiple occasions to order carryout, but they never answer the phone. Not sure why. I would pay for the good one, but not the bad one. Can't decide if it is worth $9 for a 50% chance of getting a good cheese steak. read more

As a born and bred Philadelphian, I felt it mandatory to visit this establishment. I miss nothing more than a real Philly Cheesesteak. Unfortunately, Brew Belly, although quite tasty, is not the answer. The meat was excellent and they give you plenty in a sandwich. The cheese was quite hard to find. I'm not really sure it was there! The onions were as far from a Philly steak as they could be. In Philly, the onions are cubes and sautéed on the grill. Here they were slices and "ale cooked", whatever that means. It did impart a peculiar taste that did not belong if you're looking for an authentic cheesesteak. Finally the roll was way too soft. Too much like a long piece of bread and not a tasty, crisp roll. Overall, not a bad sandwich at all. I did enjoy it, but to call this an authentic Philly Cheesesteak is completely misleading. It'd more like an "Olney-Philly Style Cheesesteak". read more
