This place brought life to what was once a really sad looking beer and wine store. The atmosphere is super low key and inviting. You order at the bar and they'll bring your food to you. Lots of bottle options and beers on tap. You can't go wrong with the food here either. I've had a few different things on the menu and would order each one again. My favorites are the Brussel sprouts and the wiz Whit cheesesteak. I also enjoyed the brew belly poutine, soft pretzel queso fundito and the moco. This is definitely my favorite spot in Olney and I'll continue to stop by. Great service too! read more

It's alright but it might make you sick (it's a little more greasy than it needs to be). The atmosphere of this place and the fun events that they have are more important than the food. But the food is usually decent. If you like beer, you'll probably love this place, because they have a ton of selection (including local stuff!). But if that doesn't interest you, you may not find anything you like here. I really like the staff, they're all nice and some are pretty funny, too. The only other issue is parking, but since it's a small place, it's not a huge issue, even if it is crowded inside (you can sneak over to the urgent care if you're brave). read more

I was born in Philadelphia and raised in its shadow, so I know cheese steaks. Brew Belly cheese steaks are as good as any I have ever had. Our whole family loves them. My only complaint is the lack of plain cheese steak on the menu. You have to start with a Moco then ask to hold the lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and fried onions to get a basic cheese steak. They will do it with amazing results, so I can't hold it against them. We won't go anywhere else for cheese steak this side of Philadelphia. Brew Billy's take on another Philadelphia classic, the soft pretzel, is also great. It is much bigger than classic street vendor pretzels so expect a meal rather than a snack. It is not exactly the same texture or taste as Philly street pretzels, but more than makes up for it being handmade, fresh from the fried and delicious. I almost never write reviews, but I am a cheese steak and pretzel snob. When I a place that does both as well or better than the shops in Philadelphia that are the gold standard, I owe them the credit they deserve. If you are picky about your cheese steaks, you have to try Brew Belly. Edit: I owe BB an apology. I stopped by for a quick lunch opting for the Seoul Cheese steak, Fries, and Beer. It was $15 plus tax and tip. The food came out within 5 minutes of ordering. The fries were golden and crisp, the cheese steak was generous, I could have shared it as a meal if some one had been with me. I had a local Belgium quad ale, Black Flag, Quadra Black Magic from Columbia MD, included and it was great! I would happily pay $8 for their standard pour. I'm loving this place! Like other reviewer's have stated, when you walk in you go to the right and order food and beverages. It's not especially huge in there but they've got a nice layout, with communal tables and booth seating spread around. They also have bored games scattered throughout the place to play while you're hanging out. When we were there, we saw quite a few families with young kids, so I would definitely say it's family-friendly. The food we had was great! We did the brussels sprouts, cheese curds, and a basket of fries. They had some really fun options to try on tap, mostly local brews. They have a lot of different beers to buy and take home with you as well. The price wasn't completely astronomical, and we definitely enjoyed our time there. We'll be back! read more

Unfortunately, my experience wasn't as great as others on here. This place used to be a wine store several months ago. Even though it's been open for a while, I never had a chance to stop through until recently. Their parking lot is always full so my plan was to go when they first open up. I did and it was still a few people there. I had the MoCo. It was flavorful but a good portion of it was fat. To go to this place where they put a lot of money in fine wine, a million TVs and the longest couch on the east coast, they purchased their meat at the Discount Meat Depot. I'm not sure if I will come back. The brussel sprouts were ok. They were sweet and savory. The cheese curds were ok. You would think that being a mile away from this store would guarantee that the food would be hot...it wasn't. If I do try this again, I will dine in and see. read more

I have not tried the beer, and only ordered carryout, so this review is only for the subs and pretzels. We ordered twice on two separate occasions to be certain that our dislike was not an anomaly. We disliked the steak & cheese subs (MoCo) and thought the meat tasted like it was cooked on an unclean grill or one that had been cleaned with dirty dishwasher and this flavor permeated the meat like a marinade. There was plenty of steak on the sub and the roll was nice, but the flavor was off - both times. The cheese seemed to disappear so it wasn't visible at all and we didn't even taste it, so overpowering was the flavor of the steak meat. The pretzel was huge and soft (as long as it is warm) and when dipped in the processed cheese sauce, made for a filling snack. We won't be going back. I don't know what is going on with the flavor of the steak but it ranks among the worst tasting steak in a sub I've ever eaten. At least it was not difficult to bite into and the way it's prepared makes for an easy to chomp into sub. Also, there is no way to order online and one must call in the order. read more

I have now been here four times and every single time I come, it has been awesome! The beer selection is great and the prices are extremely reasonable for the portions of food and drinks. I have had the Route 97 on two of the four times I have visited and it was delicious. The meat was a bit tough in a few bites but the flavor is amazing and I will continue to order. Atmosphere is laid back and the staff has always been extremely friendly! Craved the food so much last week that I went twice in less than 24 hours. I got a spot right out front which was great but if you cant find one, Brew Belly didn't actually build the parking lot so don't complain or leave, park at Safeway and walk the tiny walk to get to Brew Belly :-) read more

In Olney, on my lunch break running errands and this spot popped up as I was searching for a non fast food lunch. I haven't had a cheesesteak in forever so why not. I pulled into a fairly empty parking lot but was reminded of the Whiz pic I saw on Yelp...a simple cheesesteak and that's it. Upon entry...ok...nice...very clean with lots of indoor seating. I don't do beer but it must be good. I was up next and ordered... the gentleman informed me that their was a lunch special ending in 4 minutes for $15 which included a cheesesteak, fries and 16oz alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage. I believe this special runs until 3pm M-F. My meal was ready in less than 10 mins and I opted to try one of the ciders - Blueberry lemon cider...bomb. The whiz was exactly what I was seeking and fit the crave of a real Philly Cheesesteak. The meat was seasoned very well. No condiments were needed. So I decided to give this place another go- all the talk about their cheesesteaks. Second trip was far better than the first. Parking this time around was tight then suddenly at about 1:30 the Saturday lunch crowd departed all at once. Decided to try the cheesy fondido, arugula salad and classic cheesesteak. Findido was overpriced at $10- should be a $6 app. Arugula salad was $8 and I would get it again to balance out the meat and carbs... it was a bit odd. Loved that it had nuts, goat cheese and dried fruit with lots of arugula. But... something about a mouthful of greens, bit of goat cheese, dried cherry and then dry roasted peanut was odd. It was like they took a can of planters mixed dry roasted nuts and sprinkled them on top. Cheesesteak was great and would go again for that. Tortilla chips with fondido were hard and stale with salty seasoning sprinkled on top (perhaps to cover up that they were stale - fail). Ginger cider was great and reminiscent of a Moscow mule. Whisy fights were great. As long as there's parking, I'd swing back in. read more

Took a buddy here for his b-day lunch and it was the first time for both of us and WOW!!!!!! The cheesesteaks were great and the bread so fresh. We had the Brew Belly Poutine which equaled any that I have had in Canada. The beers were awesome and as the staff told me that they change regularly I will be back regularly to get my eat on of the cheesesteak, poutine and try different beers. Prices were great, especially the Lunch Special. Loved the flights of beer and whiskey and the tap handles were some of the most interesting I have seen. We were very excited to see this place was finally open, and tried it last night. When you enter, there is no signage to indicate how to proceed, so we attempted to find seats. None were available, then we saw a sign saying there was more downstairs, so we went to look. Restrooms, but no stairs, nothing. We went back to the entrance to ask wtf was going on. Turns out the sign was a joke. Not funny. Then we asked how to find seats, order, etc. You start at selection...if you are an IPA fan. We are not, and the suggested alternatives were still too hoppy, sour or bitter. No lagers seemed to be available, so we settled on a cider, pleasant but a bit bland. The menu is limited to appetizers, snacks and a few sandwiches, but it was dinnertime. Ordered the pub pretzel with beer cheese. Pretzel was very good, but the cheese was thin and bland. Crispy brussels sprouts were tasty, but too sweet after a few bites. My husband ordered a kielbasa sandwich that he enjoyed a lot, but he was still hungry. I tried the spiced mixed nuts, but the coating overpowered the flavor of the nuts and needed salt. No desserts, which might have earned a 3rd star. The staff was great, very friendly! But overall a letdown. They need signage to direct first-timers, more menu selections, more brews for casual beer drinkers that aren't hard core beer snobs, and better recipes. I hope that a few things change as (if?) they grow, but as it stands we aren't likely to return. World of Beers in Rockville surpasses on all points. read more

What an amazing find! I love this place, i'm not a beer person so it's definitely a surprise that I wouldn't mind coming here but there's a lot more than just beer. They have a plethoric assortment of beer on tap, in a bottle, or a can. I really enjoyed #3 when my husband got it. They also have wines/whiskey/bourbon to choose from. Great food and beer (tried coriander and orange peel), poutine with cheddar and bacon, pretzel with crab cream cheese, and moco cheesesteak with mushrooms and peppers and extra cheese. Poutine fries were really good, fresh cut, lots of bacon, could have had more cheese though. Pretzel was awesome! It needed nothing, was crispy and buttery on the outside and soft and chewy in the middle, it was probably my favorite thing, the crab dip was good with it too, creamy but not loaded with crab. Mostly flavored with old bay. Good but not amazing. Also had a spicy mustard that was tasty too. Cheesesteak was delicious, plenty of steak, peppers, mushrooms, and caramelized onions. Again could have used more cheese, we ordered the extra cheese option but didn't seem super cheesy. Bread was perfectly soft like it should be for that kind of sandwich. The parking lot is small so expect it to be crowded during dinner time, especially when it's game night. There isn't a lot of seating either. It's definitely more bar-like than a family sit-in. The food was good, especially if you're in for the beer (what I'm saying is there is a variety of finger foods to choose from), OR you can pair up a cheese and meat platter with a glass of wine. Brand new to Olney, Brew Belly! Welcome. If you are a cheery beerio, this is the place for you. They have 24 very fine beers on tap from the very local, to regional, to national. You cannot miss here with the selection of style and flavor. They also have a selection of takeout beers that can be bought and consumed on premise, for a corkage few, or you can buy and walk. Again, the selection is staggering and very crafty. The fridge is divided into state, regional, national and mainstream. The place is family run and their knowledge of beer along with their relationships with breweries is key. They are friendly, all smiles, and willing to discuss beer as they are passing in the bar/restaurant. It really has been a labor if love for them, and the end product shows. Good people, good beer, and good food. How can you go wrong! Stop by and have yourself a grand time! Thank you for all your hospitality. Stopped in last night with my sister and had a great experience! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, the selection of beers was extensive and the apps we had were great! Though I didn't have any, I noticed wine was available in addition to beer! I also appreciated they had a blackboard up with a list of suggestions people had made to help them improve ( highchairs and gluten free options, for example). They are listening to feedback and that's a sign of a great manager/owner! They have a self of board games and some community tables so this would be a great spot for a group. They've got a large selection of packaged beers and wines to purchase and the space is very well decorated and designed. As someone mentioned the parking lot isn't huge but there are plenty of other options. Carpool or Uber/Lyft if you can. Otherwise there are plenty of public parking areas all around Brew Belly. The Food is awesome! The steak and cheese was very tasty and filling. The Pretzel is large and tasty. Fries are fresh and very generous portions. This is a bar and was annoying that there were more crying babies and screaming toddlers than adults. Not all the fault of management but offering loud games for the kids does encourage this. Watching people drink 3 IPA beers with higher alcohol content than regular beers and driving a car with babies and toddlers is very sad. read more

Went to Brew Belly for lunch yesterday and was very disappointed. Ordered the MOCO steak and cheese - It was terrible. The meat was full of gristle (FAT) to the point were I had to trash it. It was analogous to pouring a tall glass of cold milk and taking a big gulp only to discover that the milk is spoiled. I should have asked for my money back - Will never return. read more

My husband and I tried them for the first time tonight. We ordered a wiz wit, moco, and classic poutine to share. Everything was super salty, especially the fries. I've had poutine a few times in Canada and was excited to try the fries here and unfortunately was disappointed. The poutine was just a dark/black gravy blob. It was pretty awful. The wiz wit didn't really taste like anything and I could barely see or taste the lettuce and tomato on the moco. All in all, the food wasn't great, but it wasn't that bad either. read more

I have only come here post-COVID but I have enjoyed both my visits. The staff are super sweet and help you find beers you like. They have a huge selection of beer and other drinks to take home which is great. The food is delicious, I definitely recommend the poutine. Great place if you want craft brews/bottle shop! Friendly service, large offering for "on tap" beers, and a huge selection for beers that are in cans and bottles in the refrigerated section. The theme here is mostly beers that are local to the DMV area, and they've done a fantastic job at capturing that in their selections. Don't want beer or have kids coming with you? Not a problem as they offer wine by the bottle both refrigerated and not, and soda as well. Though I didn't get any food, they seemed to have a pretty decent sized menu selection and the portions quite large. It's important to note though that this place is more than just about beers (although they're damn good at it), but rather a place to get together with friends and have a couple drinks and hang out. They have a wide selection of games and flat screen TVs to watch games on while you drink too. Also, special shoutout to Sam as she keeps the place clean and running efficiently.
