He recommended that if my check engine light goes off again, I should go to another mechanic because it's probably not a minor thing. My car ended up getting towed 13 miles later, which sucks. I had the quote in a day, and it was lower than three other local bids. He found a replacement, perfect paint job, and it mechanically works like new. In addition, I went with C&M due to the two prior jobs they did so well. One was an installation of a roof rack on a new SUV; the other my daughter's side panel repair. Okay, where do I begin? Came from New York to bring my 88-year-old dad to an eye doctor…read moreappointment. On the way back to his house his truck started to smoke and turned out. It was a transmission line that failed. I was on the side of the highway with a handicap father. Like I said, I am from New York and have no connections or family in Pennsylvania. I proceeded to call a shop that was around the corner from my dad's house. Said he couldn't even look at my car till next week. I called Rob's Towing and they couldn't seem to do enough for me. There was no way my handicap dad to get into a tow truck and I had no other way to get back to his house. They proceeded to send a small four-door pickup truck plus the tow truck to tow my vehicle. They got the vehicle back to the shop and knowingly. I'm from New York could've taken advantage of me which they did not. To my surprise. The proceeded with care and explained everything that they were doing to my truck. The truck turned out to work perfectly, and they even washed my truck because there was transmission fluid all over it. No doubt if I ever lived here, this would be the only place that I would take my vehicle. Back story, I bought all upgraded axles, disc brake conversion and an Eaton E-locker, brought the bearings and seals and dropped it all off. Also left a $500 deposit 'for parts'. On the day of pick up I get there expecting a ready to bolt up and ride rear-end and to my suppose see my axles in the box and get charged another $350+/- for the installation of the locker. The owner states that "the axles don't fit and I see that you ordered them online and I can't compete with those prices." I was extremely perturbed to put it as mildly possible. I got all my parts loaded and went home. When a couple YouTube videos and my 11 year old son. We put it together (with the parts that the 'professional' claimed wouldn't fit) and it's running like a dream. I paid $850 for another lesson, don't do the same as me.
