Best ride in the sentence in town! My wife and I have never been a ferryboat before so we had been looking forward to it since we came to Seattle. Other than the cold while standing on the deck it was one of the best boat rides I've ever had. The staff at the docks were fast efficient getting cars on ferry. Because it was February known was out on the deck which was really nice to have the whole place to yourself. We had no business in any of the towns the ferry was heading, we just enjoyed the ride. If you're making a trip to Seattle jump on the ferry and enjoy the ride. read more

Can we all agree that a 11:30 pm departure time would be much more conducive towards optimal ferry times keeping in mind football games, concerts and baseball games? I would much rather the ferry departure time be 11:30 pm rather that 10:30 pm. Or maybe we add the fast ferry instead at 11:30 since no one is driving at that time. Let's get smart WSF!!! I luved my ferry ride yesterday. Even though it was cloudy it was still a beautiful day. My ride seemed faster going back too Seattle than it did going to Bremerton. But either way it was a beautiful ride both ways. I will be back again. read more

What can I say? It got me there, it didn't sink in the process, it took just an hour and while it was $16 each way, I could bring my car, hop out and get a snack or even enjoy the views. I don't come to Bremerton often but from Seattle this is quite a lovely ferry ride. read more

Took this ferry while I was visiting my mother. Compared to what I'm used to I have to say, I was quite impressed. Friendly and accommodating for the most part. The ride itself was fun and gave me an opportunity to capture some really good photos. If you're ever in this neck of the woods I recommend you try this ferry at least once. I love the Bremerton ferry. There's a ton of parking nearby on the Bremerton side so if you want to go to downtown Seattle, it's way cheaper to park on this side of the water. The vehicle charge is a bit steep. When you walk on in Bremerton there is no charge and it's about $7 to walk on from Seattle-Bremerton. The crossing time is about an hour so it's pretty quick for the distance traveled. I only wish it ran more frequently! read more

The short 30 minute crossing time allows for you to get comfortable enough to relax a minute before having to go back to your car or prepare to disembark via foot. The sailings are typically smooth and when winds kick up the waves can smash onto the car deck and cause a hazard for those exiting or going back to their cars during the crossing. Oh nice days there is a sun deck that is often open (only when there are enough ferry employees working on the vessel at the time of the sailing) or you have the normal area that's used fir walk on boarding and disembarking at some terminals to hang out and enjoy the sun and the views of the area during the crossing. They don't offer a snack bar onboard like the Clinton - Mukilteo sailings, but they have beverage and snack vending machines which always seem to be out of order for one reason or another and less than reliable. When you disembark I'm Bremerton be it on foot or by car your flow is onto the downtown main streets and it doesn't clog the roads when a ferry pulls in with 200 or so cars to unload in ten minutes time, rather the city plays in harmony with the disembarking process and nothing gets jammed up. I would suggest taking a midday ferry if travelling by car as the wait times can be over an hour in the mornings and evenings due to commuters. Walk on passengers have the pick of their sailing because there is always ample room onboard for passenger boarding. The only exception being the half capacity rule when the ferry is short handed in on vessel duties and it states that if two ferries are operating the same route pairing, that you Kay only board half of the maximum capacity which is well over 500 people that if one vessel has an emergency anywhere on the route that the other vessel can provide aid and assistance in less than twenty minutes time from the call going out of an onboard emergency requiring evacuation from the vessel. So that's the only time they will limit walk on passengers due to those passengers in cars as cars are a top priority for boarding the ferry and this limiting of walk on passengers caused a fight to break out because they were being denied boarding to a vessel that was at half capacity due to car passengers and the person not wanting to wait about an hour for the next sailing and it was after some sports event and he was probably intoxicated to a degree. The sailing is smooth and the half hour goes by so quickly that the views and the experience of the ferry trip makes you want to hop on another one going anywhere! read more

It's been a million, billion years since I actually took this ferry (I was seventeen at the time) but the experience was totally acceptable. I mean, it wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad. I currently left it as only a three star experience, however, because when it comes to dropping off and picking up my fake high school girlfriend - the traffic/roads are a miniature nightmare. I can't tell if it's actually under construction or if they just think it's hilariballz to have half of the lanes blocked off for no reason... Anyways... It's a great service, I just wish the accessability would improve. read more

The Bremerton ferry can get crowded when the Nimitz Carrier comes in for maintenance. However, the seats are plentiful and cushioned. The 6 am ferry is packed going to Bremerton. The Bainbridge ferry is nicer than Bremerton - not all ferrys are equal. It can get rocking so if you don't have your sea legs try sitting in the center. There is food for purchase on the ferry. read more

This is a great ferry ride for views of the Sound and Seattle. We took this instead of taking one of the sightseeing boat tours out of Seattle. If you take it from Bremerton to Seattle there is no charge for passengers, only for the vehicle ($15). Highly recommended! read more

I think it must be all about timing with the Ferry from Bremerton to Seattle. We arrived at 1:20pm for a 1:45pm departure. This allowed us to park in line and run to the stores on the other side of the queue lot to hit the restroom and grab some refreshments. We did not realize there is a full serve cafeteria inside. It even had a tap for all you alkies! The fare for a car is $12.75 and includes everyone inside. The ride over was spectacular. Granted we had some awesome weather while we were in Washington, but this day was particularly nice. Scattered clouds and no rain! I tried to stay outside for as long as I could to take in the view and snap a few photos, but it was FREAKING COLD! The price we pay for going in November, I guess. The trip took about 45-50 minutes but was smooth and quick. A great option from Olympia if you want to tour the Sound. read more

$17.30 from Bremerton to Seattle. You get to see the retired Navy vessels in the Bremerton Naval Shipyard, as you approach the terminal. The ferry terminal works efficiently, and easily, even for first-timers, like us. On a nice day, like we had, the views are great, including Mt. Rainier. Comfortable lounge, upstairs. Exiting at Seattle is a bit more complicated, as there is construction going on. read more

I always tell people visiting Seattle that they absolutely need to make time for a ferry trip to Bremerton (60 minutes) or Bainbridge (35 minutes) in their plans. This, in my opinion, is the best $8 (round trip) you'll ever spend on vacation. And, if you happen to ride in the evening or afternoon, grab a wine or beer and talk with overly friendly locals in the galley about what to do on the island or in Bremerton. You may even get lucky and see a whale. read more

The first time I rode a ferry I was 6 years old and I was very impressed with the whole idea of putting cars on a boat to cross water. Now I'm much older and can't believe how much the state charges to put a car on the ferry and cross that very same water. I've noticed that some ferries are kept cleaner than others, and since the boats move to different routes it's hard to say what boat is going to be good or...... not so good. On the passage one can keep themselves busy in any number of ways, but I strongly suggest not spacing-out as it not only makes one look like some kind of weirdo-freak but your trance like state might prevent you from spotting a pod of whales. I like it when I'm the first loaded and my car is at the very front, it's lots of fun to play out of control ferry by sitting in the car and trying to steer the boat with my cars steering wheel and experiencing the ferry not respond. It is not as nice as it was where the boats were new, but then there was no ferry like Kalakala. To bad WSF did not keep her for a piece of history. If you ever have to daily commute on these things it becomes anything but fun. read more

When I was there a blue Toyota Camry just cut in front of us and got on while a employee just stood there watching or so called watched us.

Always a fun trip for us out of town folk. The only issue was the older couple next to us on the ferry who were over the yellow line and made it real hard for us to get out. I do hope I left a dent in your white Toyota. read more
