The Breezeway Restaurant was a pleasant experience on a fisherman's wharf style atmosphere! The service was friendly and prompt although they were busy. The food was excellent, especially the scallops. The hush puppies were an amazing way to begin a good dinner too!

Hot dip.

The food never disappoints. Absolutely delish and they have huge portions. The staff are very friendly and eager to please. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the sunset views are spectacular.

Restaurant with southern charm.. I had heard good things so we took the road-trip from jacksonville early evening to this local spot on the waterway. The restaurant is part of spot that includes a hotel. They sit on same property and share same name. Once you walk in there's a small enclosed lobby with local decor and shells . Then you walk into the restaurant with seating area and are greeted with big fish tank with fish crabs and other critters right at the register. I saw behind register they sell shirts from there too. We were seated as soon as we came in as it was a Thursday..they are not open everyday so when they are open you should get there early to get a good seat with window view on the waterway. We didn't get that table but we enjoyed our spot just as well. We had she crab soup which had lots of crab . The hush puppies were so good! A little sweet but not overly and they always come out hot!! I ordered seafood combo plate of shrimp and oysters.. came with fries and slaw but I focused on the seafood.. our waitress was Mattie and she was very attentive and very nice.. she took good care of us! Our meal was typical fried southern goodness but not heavily breaded.. my oysters were pretty big and pump so good!! This spot is not a chain at all you could see the staff cooking in back and working hard.. fishing and beachy decor lines the walls in the restaurant.. after dinner we took a walk onto the doc as sun was setting.. very peaceful and nice location.. feels miles away from reality!! Enjoyed our visit and would go again!!

Flounder, best scallops & oysters I've ever eaten, & delicious flounder.

On May 13 we, and another dear couple went to Breezeway on their boat. Docking was ample, easy and free. Breezeway opens at 5pm so it's best to arrive at least 15-30 minutes early because a line forms and in the busy summer season, there is a huge demand for Breezeway! We've tried to eat at Breezeway for four years and it just never worked out. My meal? TENDER Flounder, the best TENDER scallops & TENDER oysters I've ever eaten, & All lightly fried. Cole slaw was LIKE candy! Hush puppies were unlike any we've ever had. Light & delicious!!! My meal included deviled crab but I didn't love this as much as the rest of my meal. It was good, but the rest of my meal was epic! Everything everyone had was delicious and Alyssa's service was delightful and very attentive! The ambiance is lovely and our experience could not have been better!!! We will gladly be back!!! Not to vacationers; they do not reserve seats or take reservations so if you have a party over six, be patient during busy times so they can properly accommodate your party.

This was some of the best seafood I've had. The fried shrimp and sea scallops were great.

A very delicious meal-blackened grouper with pineapple salsa, twice baked potato and grilled zucchini. Beautiful view. Great service.

Just not impressed... lots of fried foods. Our waitress was great and the hush puppies were killer.. other than that not worth the trip.

Maine Lobstah Shack - Maine Lobster roll and clam chowder

Ok yelp, another review I have already left, that you have deleted and pretend like I did not do a…read morereview. I can't tell if they delete them on purpose or if they have major issues with their entire system. Sadly, because of this I will write less and not waste my time redoing it. Yes the lobster is good, and the guy who took our order was funny and friendly. Our food came out fast and was exactly what we expected from a Maine lobster shack. You eat outside under a shade on picnic tables. There is no inside so keep that in mind and if you need the restroom they don't have one, you'll need to run across the parking lot to the tackle and bait fishing shop (which is a really cool store and lots of boating, touristy, beach stuff too). To us where they really shined was the soups. I had the clam chowder and my wife had lobster bisque. Both were excellent! Almost everyone sells clam chowder up and down the barrier islands but many do the water based version with canned clams which are hard and too chewy. This was a proper clam chowder made with fresh clams and real cream. It was spot on. The same for the bisque. If you're unsure, they offer sample tastes of the soups. Will we go back? Yes. Was it expensive? Yes. We spent $90 bucks for lunch and that's a lot for us so it won't be a regular stop for us, if we were more affluent we would eat here more often.

We stopped in solely because my husband and I physically cannot pass up a lobster roll. Thankfully,…read morethis place absolutely delivered. The food was fantastic, but honestly the service is what made this place stand out. We brought our kids, and in the chaos of ordering, I accidentally ordered mac & cheese for my son when he actually wanted a grilled cheese. Cue the dramatic small-child disappointment. Not only were we greeted warmly by multiple staff members, but the gentleman who I assume was the owner noticed my son pouting at the table and immediately stepped in. He brought him a grilled cheese on the house and completely turned dinner around. Later he came back with samples, checked on us again, and genuinely made us feel welcome. I say this as someone who feels like customer service and human connection are slowly being replaced by QR codes and mild emotional neglect: this place still gets it. I watched him interact with other customers the same way, and it was clear the kindness wasn't just for show. Bonus points: the location is perfect. It's right next to an ice cream shop and in a great downtown area, so you can easily make an evening out of it. Lobster roll, ice cream, walk around.

We've lived in the area for about 6 years. Eat out fairly often. This restaurant by far has been…read morethe most consistent in the quality of the food, which is the best of all the restaurants in the topsail area. It is not fine dining and has the sports bar vibe. It is a relatively small place and I recommend going on non peak hours in season. If you are into oysters, they have a great selection of both local and regional on the half shell. If you prefer cooked, chargrilled or steamed is a good choice. While the menu has a great selection of seafood, the chalkboard specials features extremely fresh local catches which change daily. While there are several restaurants in and around the topsail area this is the only one where I have never been disappointed. If you go at peak hours during the vacation season expect to wait but it is worth it. You can't miss with any of the steamed shellfish offerings and if you prefer fried there batter is light and not overpowering. As a sports bar, they have a large selection of tap and bottled beers and a good mixology of liquor options which is only outdone in my opinion by Rick's in Sneads Ferry

I could've asked the price upfront (and usually do) but what the heck... we're on vacation. The server suggested we get a "double" and share it. OK. Sounds good. It came out quick. There was a TON of food for two of us. Shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn. It didn't have a lot of seasoning also on it, but - no problem - there was a rack with every hot sauce you'd ever need, plus salt, pepper and old bay. We both ate our fill and even left a few potatoes. The bill comes and it's less than $40. It might be the cheapest great meal I've had in a long time. Or maybe it's the "greatest cheap meal" I've had in a long time... I don't know. Bar ambiance, but pleasant enough for families. Mostly high tables. It all seemed very nice.
