We upgraded to impact windows and doors and they were out to reconnect all the sensors and add our monitored smoke detectors. One to install a 75" TV on a mount and hiding the wires behind the wall and to mount my 2 Sonos speakers in corners of our house. He came back a few days later to install a Sonos sound bar. Here's an example how he's good and thinks out of the box. I bought the suggested Sonos sound bar mount but he suggested using his since the sound bar can move with the TV once we swivel it. If he used the Sonos mount, it was stay on the wall. He also suggested using the supplied HDMI cord Sonos supplied versus the 3rd party I got from Amazon. Had a 10 camera system installed. Within a couple of weeks, started getting static on a couple of…read morethe more distant cameras. After investigating, found out that the push on connectors on the back of my DVR were loose so I ordered some crimp on connectors from Amazon along with the crimping tool. Replaced about half of the connectors and the system seemed fine. A month or so later, camera fuzziness and wiggle began returning so I called to have American Wireless replace all of the cheap push on connectors with crimp style. It's been a year since install and I am less than impressed. The 2 cameras at my driveways are flaking out again. I contacted Bart at American Wireless to swap out a camera to a PTZ style, add an additional camera, upgrade the existing cameras to a better quality since the original "hi-def" cameras that were installed cannot make out a license plate leaving my driveway and once again fix the "ground issue" as he called it when he came to give me an estimate on the additional work. It took a week to get an estimate because he was on vacation and almost 3 weeks after that without a response. I sent 3 emails asking for a response with the final simply saying not to worry about performing the job, I'll find someone who wants to work. Miraculously, 10 minutes later, I received his response that said "Sorry Kevin, I was on vacation, back today with back to back appointments all morning. If you have it taken care of, great. If you would like a response, let me know." I paid well over $4000 for this system and was about to spend another $2000 on upgrades. I also recommended them to my in-laws who had a system installed and just like me, are also having issues with their cameras. In my opinion, this company is far from the best out there. The workmanship was shoddy from the beginning with inferior parts (push on connectors vs. crimp) the installation looked like a rats nest in closet it was installed in with extension cords running out of it, the camera placement was terrible with one camera being placed right above the back door entrance making it impossible to see anything other than the top of someone's head... good luck identifying a burglar that way, the customer service response is a joke and one of the owner's seems to be on vacation more than at work. Basically, I have a system that performs like what you would expect from one of the off the shelf kits you can buy at COSTCO for a couple hundred bucks and install yourself. Definitely not what you would expect from a company who specializes in this sort of thing and charges a premium.
