While we were staring in the Mala Strana, it was just over a mile walk to get to Smichov, having a chance to pass by the Memorial to the Victims of Communism on our walk. Interesting setting and location, would have never found the place if it weren't for Janek, The Honest Guide on You Tube, calling the Eggs Benedict, "legendary." We can vouch for that, the soufflé was amazing looking and tasting. Big enough that my girlfriend could not finish the plate. I opted for the traditional English breakfast. It was a full plate of food that was fantastic! The beans were flavorful, the roasted tomatoes juicy and warm. The sausage AB's bacon cooked perfectly. The string is unique, very artsy in my opinion, combining indoor/outdoor seating. Very open and comfortable, appeared to be many locals taking in a morning coffee or breakfast and working. Amazing place, we enjoy every minute of this experience AB's our food. Highly recommended!

We also got two glasses of hot wine and it was amazing. The one weird thing was that we ordered a salad with chicken and she gave us the salad without chicken, and then when we asked, she said there was no chicken left. It was a little pricey for the food that we got, but other than that, loved it! Über cute vibes here!

Meals are…read moreexcellent, coffe is good but on the other side it´s overpriced (which is understandable according to location) and service is slow and confused (but very nice and friendly at the same time). Cafe is located in one of those old small Lesser town houses. It has a cool decoration. Staff is friendly and very nice but communication among them is bad and they are slow. One waiter takes an order and it takes ages to the other one to bring it and when he brings it so there is something missing (like one coffee). The same with meals. One meal was supposed to be ham and egges omelette and they brought ham and eggs. It was good though. Meals are definitely worth stopping by. Menu is not long. They have only few sandwiches, salads and pancakes plus one soup and burger. And breakfast menu (it´s that cursed ham and eggs). But all these items are pretty delicious. Especially burger surprised me. It was huge (it could be actually smaller), pretty good (cheddar was missing) and pretty cheap considering the location. But I didn´t actually expect a good burger here (I was just curious when I ordered it) and voila. Surprise, surprise. Otherwise I also recommend salmon sandwich and dill soup. It was a nice experience to visit this place but I don´t think I will return. There are other places like this one where service works just fine, prices are friendly and quality is also on a high level.

Café Louvre - Prague ( 8 to 23.30 )…read more We visited Café Louvre on a Saturday around noon, and although the line was long, it moved surprisingly fast. The staff is clearly very well organized and efficient. Service was quick, attentive, and professional. The waiters were elegantly dressed, which added to the classic, old-world charm of the place. We also got lucky and were seated by the window, which made the experience even more special. The food was absolutely outstanding -- truly one of those meals that makes every cell in your body feel happy. Everything was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and comforting, yet refined. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in doing things right. Yes, it's popular and a bit touristy -- but for a very good reason. Café Louvre lives up to its reputation, combining history, atmosphere, and excellent food with smooth, professional service. We highly recommend checking this place out when visiting Prague. It's a classic for a reason.

The selection of pastries was nice and enticing. I went for the Savoy cake, which was surprisingly light and not too sweet. I thought the marzipan would overwhelmingly cloy the taste, but it just helped the cake out. The raspberry lemonade wasn't really much home to write about. It was hot outside, so I opted for a cold drink. Maybe next time I'll get a tea/coffee. Service was prompt and efficient, but not super warm. However, I wasn't looking for the latter, so I was fine with that type of service.

Located on the…read moresame plateau, a couple minutes walk from the western entrance of Prague Castle, I was surprised on an early autumn afternoon that it was as quiet inside as it was. Aside from the proprietor, myself and one other customer, this quaint cafe was devoid of other guests. The space is cozy, warm and eclectic, a handful of small tables with space for about a dozen people seated. They carry a handful of different dessert options, mostly cakes and a few pastries and one or two quiches made by the owner herself. Though I really wanted to try one of the cakes, it was before lunch so I ended up going with a meringue and a latte. The cookie was a textbook meringue, light, crisp, beautifully piped. The latte 72 CZK, while not particularly standout, was decent. The owner was kind, sweet and spoke English much better than my unfamiliarity with Czech. If I recall correctly they take cash and card, and a bathroom is available for customers though I didn't use it. There's parking available in a nearby lot though not really recommended to drive, since the entire area is quite touristy by the castle with limited parking. Public buses and tram stop Pohořelec are available nearby. A little oasis of calm on a weekday afternoon and I hope it remains so! What a pleasant experience.
