This review is way overdue, I have been using this groomer for more then 5 years. They always do a wonderful job. They also give me tips on how to keep fur un- matted. I try to make appointments but I always call to see if they have availability.

We recently took in a malti-poo, he came to us matted and dirty; thanks to Paul Zeus is like a brand new dog. I love that he is willing to sometimes take same day appts

We have been coming here for a few years. The groomer is very friendly, and charges a fair price. My dogs always come out looking fresh and clean, and nicely groomed. The best part is he remembers how I like their hair cut, and I don't have to tell him every time, like I have for previous groomers.

We've been coming here for two years and are very pleased with the service we receive! Paul is great and my doodle does great with him.

I found this place on Yelp and gave it a try cause I tried a few other places and the cuts were terrible for my malitpoo and Malti-shihtzu. This has become my go to place since I started coming here in 2021. They didn't such a great job, easy to make appointments, after care advice that he gives is always helpful and they look ridiculously cute even after getting a haircut ! I HIGHLY recommend this place if you're pups need a good cut

Being new-ish to the area I'm so glad to be close to this Groomer! My dog seems to love it here and is always happy when I pick her up so I know she is well taken care of here. Thank you for doing such a great job with Bitzy!

My husband took our dog Kobe to Brea Grooming for the first time, while I was at work. I came home from work and saw Kobe so fresh and clean. His ears were clean and pink. The bad odor was gone. I truly recommend this place. Thank you Brea Grooming. Definitely coming back again!!

After ER visit

I took both my dogs here for standard grooming and flea treatment. I have a frenchie and a Chihuahua/poodle mix both short hair dogs. Upon picking up my pups I quickly realized something was wrong. Both of them couldn't open their eyes. When we got home both my dogs weren't as happy as normal they were laying down trying not to move with their eyes shut. When I tried opening their eyes I noticed they were blood shot red. So we called the groomer right away and they said it was normal they probably had hair in their eyes (even though they didn't receive a trim) he recommended flushing their eyes out. So we did and our dogs started to cry more. We rushed them to the ER to find out they both have eye ulcers and their eyes were irritated/infected. Most likely due to the flea treatment getting in their eyes. $1,200 later our dogs had to get their eyes stained, pain medication , and was sent home with 3 different types of medication. Pain meds, eye drops, and eye cream. The fact that BOTH my dogs are going through this makes me believe that the groomer wasn't being gentle or careful. I regret ever taking them here and would never recommend anyone bringing their pups here! I'm So disappointed, upset, an overall furious.

Tried BREA Grooming due to the Original Groomer moved due to Covid-19. According to my Veterinarian, my dog got clipper burned on top of a fat pocket. He licked it and got ring worn. Took him to the Vet. $300.00 for shots and medicine cone , etc. Paul said he would only pay half in which I excepted. We kept it covered and after a week it got to the (2) bloody picks. Took him back a second time and needed immediate surgery to removed the top layer. It cost me $660.00! Called back explained that my Veterinarian has in house grooming and knows it was caused by the clippers being too hot! When explained about the second bill and that he should reimburse me in full; he Laughed over the phone. I'm not one to say bad things about people, but I think as an owner they should owe the faults! He clearly doesn't! Do you want your pet to go through what my Pet Endured? After a month and he still wearing the cone and waiting for the stitches to completely close the wound-

Our family has been customers of Pampered Paws for several years, beginning with our husky, Bella,…read moreand now our Goldendoodle, Nugget. Unfortunately, our most recent experience has left us extremely disappointed and concerned. On October 9, 2026, Nugget went in for a routine grooming appointment. Before his appointment, he had never exhibited unusual head shaking, crying, or ear-related discomfort. Following the appointment, Nugget began shaking his head repeatedly. His symptoms progressively worsened over the next two days until he was crying and whimpering when moving his head. On October 11, we took him to Crossroads Animal Emergency in Norwalk. The veterinarian diagnosed infections in both ears, including a moderate-to-severe infection in his right ear and a suspected ruptured right eardrum. Nugget required sedation, extensive ear cleaning, prescription medications, and additional veterinary follow-up. Our initial veterinary expenses totaled $575.21. After contacting Pampered Paws, the groomer explained that Nugget had deeply matted hair inside his ears and that she used grooming tools and her fingers to assist with removing it. She also confirmed that Nugget was shaking his head afterward and that she told my nephew this was normal. I subsequently spoke with the owner, who explained that Goldendoodles are prone to ear infections and acknowledged that removing ear hair can aggravate an underlying infection. He also stated that the groomer stopped removing the hair once Nugget began shaking his head. This raised additional concerns for me. If Nugget's reaction was significant enough to stop the procedure, why was that behavior described as normal at pickup rather than prompting a recommendation for veterinary evaluation? The owner also discussed implementing additional waivers and procedures for future grooming appointments involving ear-related concerns. While I appreciate the consideration of improved safeguards, I remain concerned about what occurred during Nugget's appointment. I understand that the exact cause of his infection and suspected eardrum injury has not been conclusively established. However, the timing of his symptoms, the grooming procedures described, and the subsequent veterinary findings are deeply concerning. I have provided the business with photographs, veterinary records, paid invoices, and detailed written correspondence requesting reimbursement or assistance filing a liability insurance claim. The owner returned my phone call, which I appreciated. However, reimbursement was not addressed during that conversation, and as of October 23, I have not received a response to my October 16 written follow-up request. What makes this especially disappointing is our longstanding relationship with Pampered Paws. We entrusted our pets to this business for years and expected greater attention to the seriousness of Nugget's condition and the resulting medical expenses. I am sharing our experience so other pet owners can ask informed questions about ear-hair removal, what symptoms are considered normal following grooming, and how concerns are handled when complications arise. My priority remains Nugget's recovery, and I sincerely hope Pampered Paws will address this matter appropriately.
