The office manager, Rachelle was so sweet and helpful throughout the entire phone call. I explained to her what I needed to get done (sanding & primer) on my ambulance conversion mobile dog grooming service. Unlike other shops, she had great communication and worked with me without hesitation. I took my truck in for an estimate and I could tell right away this is the car shop I wanted to work with. I've had Brea autobody work on two cars over the years, both with moderate damage over 2 panels, including trim, that needed to be fixed and paint-matched. The first was a lease and the work was so clean that it wasn't assessed against me in the lease return. The second was done about 5 years ago and to this day, the body work and the paint color and finish are flawless. I've seen other work they have done, and it's been consistently high-end. The people at Brea Auto Body were wonderful! Out of all the estimates that I got, not only were they the lowest by 20 - 30%, they were able to work with my budget to adjust it to what I could afford by providing alternate options & after market parts. Brea Auto Body which is family owned & operated for several decades is one of few shops that I can say were not your average repair shop and if I ever have to do body repair, they would always be who I recommend because of 3 basic reasons: 1) Honesty - they looked at my car which was nearly a total loss (almost half of the front was completely torn off), and were able to break down the costs to a level of detail that you won't find in most places. They reviewed the break down part by part & were able to assess how much the parts would cost (both new & after market prices), assign labor costs for install & paint, and were upfront with parts that may need additional work since some of the damage could not be assessed until the car was taken apart. 2) Price - they were able to write up a detailed estimate using computer software that broke down each part by cost & install labor which was very helpful for me to know if I could afford to have the work done. Not only were they able to cut out things that weren't absolutely necessary & provide prices on after market parts that would cut down cost, they were able to stay within my budget & were able to get the car out the door within the original price estimate that Jim provided! That is something you don't see very often. Especially on damaged cars that have a lot of unknowns and variables that can easily drive the costs up 10 - 25%. 3) Quality - when i got the car back, it was incredible and looked like it was brand new! I am pretty critical when it comes to craftsmanship, and I couldn't find any mechanical issues or see anything cosmetically wrong or half assed. The car looked new & the paint was blended very well with the existing that you couldn't tell it had been in an accident. This again is not your typical run of the mill shop. If you ever need work done on your car (big or small) I highly recommend you take it to Brea Auto Body. I got into an accident while camping and chose to go with this shop instead of my insurance company's choice. The work that was done was good for the most part. There were a couple scratches that were missed because he hadn't washed it fully until after the repair which seemed silly. It also took much longer than expected. He seemed to be quite disorganized and there was drama about the insurance company not wanting to accept his quote for work costs. Every time I called to try and get an update I go the feeling that he was not on top of things at all. Great service, although from a consumer stand point I hate hearing things like "thats a ___day job" insert number of days. It's those kind of standardizations (that may not be a word, but it works) that make me feel like I am being screwed, like when a plumber tells you thats a three hour job, even though it only takes 45 minutes. You can't really have an hourly rate and try and mkae flat rate jobs fit that matrix. Small rant... but thats how I felt when I was told my job was a ten day job... So so so grateful to Brea Auto Body. A gate closed on the left side of my car, twisting my side view mirror in the wrong direction and causing body damage. As soon as I got in the office, the woman at the front realized I'm very pregnant (36 weeks). She immediately realized that leaving my car in the shop for a few weeks right now would be tough and scary, but I can't drive without a side view mirror. She asked one the guys if he could fix it temporarily and he'd tried and DID!! They wouldn't let me pay for it and just said, Merry Christmas.
