Right away we told them the car was a BMW M4, completely dead, could not go into neutral. They confirmed the $195 quote. At the 1 hour mark (2:30 am), we hadn't heard anything, so we called. They said the driver was finishing another job and would call us shortly. At 3:00 am, we called again, frustrated because we could've paid $50 more elsewhere and been home already. They said he'd be on his way soon. We finally got a text saying the driver was en route from Santa Ana, 15 minutes away. He arrived around 3:45 am, over 2 hours after our original call. The driver loaded the car onto the flatbed with no issues. Then came the surprise, he told us the price was now $325 a $130 increase because he had to use "extra pieces" since the car couldn't go into neutral. Hector (tow truck driver) was a nice guy and knew what he was doing, just disappointed in the bait and switch. :/ We had explained the car's condition in detail when we first called and were quoted $195. Nothing changed between then and the tow. The price hike only came up after the car was already on the truck. Unprofessional from start to finish. Late by 1.5+ hours beyond the estimate, terrible communication (we had to chase them), and a shady price increase while the car was being loaded. There were other companies that quoted $230-250 with much shorter wait times. I should've gone with one of them.

My car was towed for being in a private lot for barely minutes after closing, and when I called, they demanded $680 in CASH ONLY to release it. No debit. No credit. No explanation. Just "cash or wait several days." I asked them again, then they offered Zelle. It honestly felt like a hostage situation for my own vehicle. They also told me I couldn't pick up my car until 4:00 AM, which made absolutely no sense. Every other tow yard I've ever dealt with lets you pick up after-hours, but here I was met with rude responses and zero transparency. I asked for an itemized invoice (which every legitimate tow yard provides) and they wouldn't give me a straight breakdown of the charges. Everything about this place felt shady, unprofessional, and intentionally confusing, like they count on people being tired, stressed, and desperate. Then traffic. Then "almost off the freeway." Then "10 minutes away." None of it was true. No truck ever showed up. At the beginning they answered calls. Once it became obvious they were wasting my time, they stopped responding and blocked me. I was stranded at night with a flat tire and trusted their word. Instead, they treated me like an idiot and kept me waiting until I had to call another towing company. If you can't do the job, say so. Don't waste people's time with nonstop excuses and fake ETAs.

I recently got in a car accident where the front of my car was cracked. When I saw the damage I lost hope that anyone would be able to save my beloved Toyota Echo. Brea Auto Body ordered the part easily with a small down payment, and within days they were ready to work on the repair. Jim gave me all easy to understand estimates, examined my car, explained in great detail the services he could provide and how they would be carried out. Often times I feel like mechanics talk down to me because of my lack of knowledge, but Jim was so respectful and supportive. Yolanda called me frequently and kept me updated when the parts for my car arrived! She was with me every step of the way. What an Angel. Alan looked at my car once more before the repair was completed. Attention to detail was so refreshing. To put my worries at ease, he was so gracious in explaining the process to me one last time. Eddie was also great at updating me as the repair was going on. I must have looked worried because he was such a gentleman and kept me so at ease. I didn't get the name of the mechanic but the work he did was phenomenal. My car looks brand new! Perfect job on our car! Our new car was rear ended and Brea Auto Body did an amazing job repairing our car. Not only did our car look great the customer service was five star. They genuinely care about their customer. The moment I dropped my car I was offered drinks and given a ride home. They were honest and the price was fair. I brought my 2014 BMW 535i in because it would occasionally stall, especially when the fuel level was low. After their inspection, Jesse recommended over $6,000 in engine repairs and told me the stalling issue was caused by my aftermarket battery. Trusting their expertise, I paid $641 to replace the battery, and approved all remaining recommendations totaling over $6,000. Unfortunately, just three days after picking up the car, it stalled again on the freeway and had to be towed back to the shop. They then told me the real problem was in the fuel system and recommended another $2,300 repair, followed by a $2,600 coolant pump replacement. I approved the fuel system repair but declined the coolant pump because I was already far over budget. To their credit, they did offer some discounts after the initial misdiagnosis. Later, I asked them to quote the remaining items from their inspection report, which were mostly suspension, transmission, and differential work. Their estimate came to nearly $12,000. I then obtained quotes from several other BMW specialty shops and ultimately had the remaining work completed by another highly rated independent BMW shop for $6,000 flat--about half the cost. I personally observed the work being performed, and the level of care impressed me. Parts were thoroughly cleaned, new hardware was used where appropriate, and every fastener was properly torqued and marked. This work was completed around November 2025. A few weeks ago, I started smelling gasoline inside the cabin. Since Bimmer PhD had previously worked on the fuel system, I brought the car back for a warranty inspection. The owner, Tim, personally confirmed the fuel smell during our test drive and explained that if it was related to their work, it would be covered under warranty. After keeping my car for five days, Kevin called and told me there was no fuel leak, yet I was still charged a $375 diagnostic fee. During the same visit, I also paid $472 for an oil service. When I called to discuss my concerns, Kevin was dismissive and told me I was a difficult customer and that no one wanted to work with me. When I returned to the shop, Tim raised his voice and insisted they had done nothing wrong. He claimed the other shop had caused the fuel leak--even though that shop had only performed work on the water pump, oil pan, transmission, suspension, and differential, not the fuel system. At the same time, Bimmer PhD maintained that they could not find any fuel leak after reportedly spending about 10 hours inspecting the car, despite Tim having confirmed the fuel smell with me during the initial test drive. I understand that diagnosing intermittent automotive problems can be difficult, and I can accept honest mistakes. What I cannot accept is paying thousands of dollars following an incorrect initial diagnosis, being presented with repeated expensive repair recommendations, receiving estimates that were dramatically higher than other reputable BMW specialists, and being treated disrespectfully when I raised legitimate concerns. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Bimmer PhD.

Where they fell short: * Undisclosed Upselling: I was charged $570 for an oil "service" package instead of the oil "change" I requested (you can see I simply said an oil CHANGE in the photo provided.) When I called to dispute the cost I was told the price includes a comprehensive inspection (a fee that I wasn't charged during my previous visit). * Slightly cutting corners in my opinion: For a $600 for bill that includes a premium inspection, they didn't address a hole in my rear tire that I later got patched at American Tires for FREE with no other service being done. So maybe I'm nitpicking but for a $600 bill they could have taken a look to see if it was patchable and go ahead and patch it for me. * The "Experience" Tax: Charging a premium for a report I feel like is a bad way to justify up charging. Almost every BMW dealership does this for free for a regular oil change. *this is slightly my fault since I couldn't take my car myself, but you can see in my provided picture that I simple asked for an oil CHANGE. Not a service that's double the price of a regular oil change. The technicians know what they are doing, but the front-of-house communication is misleading. If you go here get a written quote before going in. I'll most likely return since I trust their mechanics, but I do need to be more specific with my wording apparently.

I also asked for proof that the battery was properly handled during repairs (disconnected or on a trickle charger), and that was never provided either. What's most frustrating is being made to feel like this is somehow our fault, when the car had zero issues before it was in their care. Now we're left with another repair bill we didn't have before. Even USAA hasn't helped resolve anything. This has been a really disappointing experience, and I would not trust them again.

Chris and I walked over to the car. He look over the damaged right side, ran his hand over the scrapes and asked me if I had a minute or two. "There won't be a charge for this even if it works", he said. Chris walked into the shop, grabbed a towel and a bottle of solution and returned to the car. He spent 10 minutes wiping down the affected areas and removing all signs of white paint. He suggested a couple of products that would clean the plastic, and gave me a couple of brand suggestions while finishing the paint removal. All signs of white paint are gone! Chris salvaged my day and attitude. There are loads of body & paint "specialists" in the LA/Orange County area. None better than Fix Auto - La Habra. Everybody at the shop has done an amazing job helping me out. Will at the front counter is an amazing person who goes above and beyond to do whatever he can to make the pricing work for you.. Trey is an amazing technician who knows exactly what he's doing and sends detailed videos and reporting of everything he inspects. Unfortunately my truck started leaking and it was a faulty water pump. The same water pump I replaced 4 years ago at the exact location here at autolink. Again, I don't feel any sketchy feelings. I don't feel any kind of way. I just feel frustrated that the same water pump would go out after 4 years. I feel like something like that just doesn't happen. Even with that, I'm in a position in my life where I can't and don't have the resources to do anything further with this vehicle. About 2 weeks ago, maybe three. I replaced the complete brake system in my vehicle and it cost me about $2,000. Today I got the estimate for the water pump repair and it was $1,500. This is on the higher end of any shop repair. Again? I feel it's worth it because of the work they do, but to be honest, I feel something more should have been done to either prevent the water pump from breaking down again or getting some kind of warranty for that water pump that just happened to break down once again after 4 years. In the back of my mind, I can't stop thinking about the fact that something like this just doesn't happen that often. Water pumps don't break down that often. Anyway, that aside again, I hold no bad feelings toward this shot because I highly recommend them to everybody. They are on the higher end of the pricing ever since they started getting more clientele and more business. That is something that is to be expected I guess. Even with that, they were able to bring down the price significantly, and I appreciated it ever so much. At the same time I had to explain that at this time in my life I I can't and will not continue to repair this truck. I picked up the truck from the shop, drove it home and it's going to be sitting in my driveway for a few months until I figure out what I'm going to do with it. I have to save money to fix it because I do want to keep it and pass it down to my kid because after $15,000 worth of repairs I think it's pretty much brand new and should hold up for my son for a few years. Thank you everybody at the shop, Jay, will, Trey all the mechanics that I haven't met. They are detailed and explain what needs to be done with great reporting and paperwork. I will not be going back for a while. I'm going to save up some money. Get a new car and when the time comes I'm going to fix the truck and pass it down to my kid when he's old enough to drive. But I am seriously done with this truck. It has been nothing but a money pit. Again, I hold no bad blood, no hard feelings toward anybody at the shop. I just feel some kind of way about the same part breaking down 4 years later and me having to fix it at the exact same place with no kind of warranty.

Upon taking my car apart there was quite a bit more damage than we could see externally. They called me to inform me of what was wrong and let me know about the parts we would need and the work to be done but made sure I knew they weren't a GM certified shop which could affect my warranty on my car. Unfortunately due to that I had to move my car to a different shop however that really stuck with me. They didn't have to point that out and could have just started the work. They missed out on a pretty substantial job because of it. If you are looking for a shop you can trust and will be honest with you.. this is it!

This is a detailed review of my recent two visits to this facility. The good, bad, and ugly. Only 3,000 miles ago, I brought my 2012 Nissan Rogue here to replace the driver's side CV axle (torn boot) and fix an oil leak. They diagnosed the leak as needing a new oil cooler and oil pan gasket, which they replaced. I also asked them to check the brakes. They claimed my rear pads were down to 2mm and needed new pads and rotors. I only authorized the pads since the rotors were perfectly fine. At that time, they said front brakes were nearing replacement, but the rears were critical. The prices were high, but I was short on time and trusted them--my first mistake. Fast forward to last week, just 3,000 miles later. My second mistake was returning. The car was still leaking oil on my driveway in the exact same spot. I wanted them to re-check the leak under their 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. I also requested an oil change, asked them to look into an SRS airbag code (passenger seat occupant sensor), and requested a general inspection. Hours later, the service manager, Paul, called with the diagnosis and the red flags started flying: They did the oil change. No problem there. They couldn't fix the airbag issue, told me to go to the dealer, and waived the $171 diagnostic fee. Fair enough. Paul said the oil leak was coming from the CVT transmission pan gasket and quoted $700+ to repair and service the CVT. I was highly suspicious because the transmission was replaced less than 15,000 miles ago by the previous owner and the leak was in the exact same spot on my driveway. Red flag #1. He claimed my front brake pads were down to 3mm and the rears were already at 5mm. He tried to upsell a front brake job with rotors for $600+. This made zero sense since they just replaced the rear pads only 3,000 miles ago (new pads are 8-8.5mm). Red Flag #2. He tried to sell engine and cabin air filters for a ridiculous $170. This is a cheap, 5-minute DIY job, and not even the dealer would charge that much! Red Flag #3. I told Paul to wrap it up, paid for the oil change, and took my car. This week, I took it to an honest shop down the road that specializes in Japanese vehicles. They inspected it and found the truth: The CVT transmission pan was indeed leaking. However, their estimate was $200+ cheaper than Walt's to repair and service the CVT so I let them fix it. They also found another leak from the CV axle seal. Walt's suspiciously failed to diagnose this, and it was likely caused by their own poor workmanship when replacing the CV axle on my last visit. Best practice is to replace the seal with the axle. Walt's either reused or damaged the seal when replacing the axle assembly. I did not trust Walt's to honor their warranty nor their ability to repair it without breaking something else. This cost me $400 to replace the leaking seal. They measured the brake pads: both front and rear pads and rotors were completely fine and measured at 8mm! Either Paul lied about them being at 3mm and 5mm to force an upsell or they are incompetent to even measure the brake pads. Go anywhere else. If you do use them, absolutely get a second opinion. There are far more honest, professional shops out there. I will never go back.
