Came here while visiting the family of my Danish boy. They wanted to take me here because the place is owned by some famous Danish chef brothers. Sadly, by the end of the meal his poor family was embarrassed they had brought me at all.
First, the place is in Tivoli, which is like the Danish Disneyland, but on a small scale. Lots of people, kids, tourists. Its generally a busy madhouse. We had made a reservation at the restaurant, but it was not busy at all. Strangely, when we walked in no one came to greet us or meet us at the front, even though they must have seen us. That was a bad sign from the start. From there the service got very rough. Our orders came out wrong. It took forever to get our drinks. We were never checked on. Now, I know Danish customer service isnt known for being amazing, but this was a bit rough.
Overall the food, when we got it and got it right, was pretty good. I really dont think it is something that you couldnt throw together yourself with some very high quality rye bread, smoked salmon and free range eggs from a good Danish grocer, though. And, of course, the price is incredibly high, even for Denmark. In the end we left with the feeling that if you are going to a nice place to eat nice food you should expect all that plus good service. Sadly, that isnt what happened. read more
