The highway noise is pretty significant if that bothers you, can't do anything about it but just something to note if you want a certain experience. We were in a camper so it wasn't a huge problem. The owners were always around if we needed anything (they live nearby) and they brought over firewood on a golf cart that we bought from them, so that was handy. The river is a bit low and currently on the far bank, so we didn't do any activities there. Would return!

A couple areas, my ass! We were running up on a sandbar more than once and one time it was really bad. My friend that was with me, could not stand up in the shallow water, and he just kept falling. We finally got him back in the tube in that area and got to another area where I could see for a long way that it was very shallow and I knew there was going to be issues. We tried and tried to get him to stand up and he just couldn't. This went on for quite a while. I finally went for my phone to call for help and a gentleman came down from the bank and asked if we needed help. He was kind enough to help my friend get to the exit on the river. I have never been so frustrated and so tired in all of my life. On top of trying to help my friend, I was struggling because I have cancer. Prepare to see many different birds and we had quite a few fish jump near our canoe. The water was just fine...we did not fear for our lives...the water was clean and what you would expect in a large city. Although you are in Dallas it seems more like a remote river out west at times.
