They not only came out and gave a quote, but said they could do it that same day! Way sooner than other places that gave quotes but wouldn't be available for a week or so. Some places wouldn't even do a job unless it was $2000 or more to make it worth their time, which my job was in the low $100s at best. They listened to my concern about another board that looked to have a portion rotted and they were able to include replacing the rotted part and not create additional seams between the boards--something I hadn't thought possible! He was very pleasant. We didn't feel the least bit self conscious having him in the house, even when our dogs were being crazy. Second, he did a fantastic job on the sink and it was not simple. He replaced a 6 inch deep two basin sink with regular faucets with a new single basin 9 inches deep. He put a touchless faucet on there, and redid the pipes underneath to accommodate the old garbage disposal. All of this cost less than 2X what I had been quoted for the outside faucet replacement alone by my plumbing maintenance company.

With a ton of experience doing this kind of install, Marcus helped out so much that I was pretty much able to handle coordination of the main pieces and personnel without needing to hire anyone else. He did a great job making the vision come alive and was transparent with any problems that arises (and importantly fixing them when necessary). He was friendly, fair with pricing, and also very quick-- framing and installation took only 2 separate, spread out days (to allow for drywalling and parts arrival in between). My personal experience with him in terms of communication was excellent, but I also purposefully avoided peak summer season so as not to catch him at a busy time. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

I did mention to him that my spouse does not want him or his crew back since this whole fiasco. I gave him the opportunity since he claimed to be a legit business to come to a solution but I was only then accused of short changing him when both the bank and my self verified the cash that was given to him. I still don't understand why nothing was not said then why bring it up when I send pictures of the cracked concrete. Shady business man if that is what you want to call it. Stay clear!!

What really…read morebothered me about this transaction was that he gained my trust by doing a few other projects at a reasonable rate before trying to massively rip me off. I asked David to spread some rocks on a small area of our yard. I have done such tasks many times myself, including buying bulk rocks from Whitlesleys, and had a good idea of the cost of materials and amount of time the job would take. However, I was busy and wanted to turn over all my landscaping needs to someone else. The job should not take more than $150 in materials and four hours of work for the small area behind our pool I had in mind. It took no special skills. David's price? $2,150. $2,000 for labor alone divided by 4 hours is $500/hour. I had someone else come out and they are going to do it. Their quote? $280 for the whole project. Compare that with David's $2150 for the same project. This was after he had already come to my house and done a slightly high priced but good job mowing my lawn and spreading my mulch on two visits. I told him we planned to hire him as our main person for weekly service on account of the decent job he had done on the last two visits and he seemed to think we were now captives and he could gouge me for price. When I confronted him on his price being out of line he had no explanation. I promptly fired him from his weekly job for trying to rip ups off and not being trustworthy.
