This is simply world class barbecue. Hubba's is consistent. I've been there several times and I've enjoyed the ribs, the chicken and the very well crafted pulled pork. The sides are wonderful. The baked beans are some of the best I've had anywhere. The coleslaw is authentic and fresh. The team at Hubba's is awesome. Friendly and helpful. Sometimes it gets a little busy, but sit back listen to the blues that are playing. Find a seat at a picnic table nearby and enjoy the experience. If I could eat there every day, I would. We went in the fall and it was a perfect New England day; spooky season in full effect, sweater weather, and autumn decor. There was live music, picnic tables, and animals you can pet; there were goats and sheep. A feed dispenser was nearby, just insert some coins. The bar/restaurant line was not too long and it moved quickly. We had kettle popcorn, hot dogs, beers and cider. These were good and there were so many options; pizza, beer, ice cream, salad, nachos, etc. They are also a pick your own farm; from strawberries, flowers, pumpkins, apples, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, peaches, it all depends on the season. They even have a sugar house which produces maple syrup and other treats. We had an enjoyable time when we went and look forward to going back.

The Purple Pig is run by a guy who grew up in Texas and obviously trained under some great pit masters. The place itself is really not much. There are two tables and a little bar to sit at. They have no restroom, which was pretty disappointing. Thankfully, the dispensary next door was very nice to let us use theirs. Anyway, my uncle and my nephew were with me and we were hungry, so we ordered their family dinner for $95. It had a full rack of ribs, a pound of brisket, two huge sausages, three sides and lots of cornbread. I think this is a great deal for the amount of food you get. After ordering the food came out very quickly. The beef brisket was really amazing. The cut he gave us was a perfect mix of fat and meat. The rub he makes is savory a good blend of salt, pepper and onion. It was really tender meat but also still had firmness as well. The pork ribs were perfectly cooked and fell off the bone nicely. I love the rub he makes for the ribs as well. It is both sweet and savory. The sausages were smoky and peppery. There were two sauces and both were Texan style with a tangy tomato base, but one was spicy and the other not. Both excellent! For the sides, the Cowboy Beans were a standout: these were some of the best beans I've had at a BBQ joint. The cornbread was also really good and the Mac and cheese was solid. The coleslaw was the only side that I thought was just pretty average. I hope that was a helpful review of things. They have so many other things to try on their menu, but sadly I won't be back in this area anytime soon. I hope others will venture out and find this place.
