Finally was able to try this place! Every time I was ever in the area they were always closed! They're only open a few days a week it seems but definitely worth it! Was able to get a last minute order in today before they closed. I got the medium tenders and fries they were amazing the flavor and heat level was perfect I will probably try the hot next time! The staff was also super friendly I didn't notice I accidentally preordered for a later day in the future but they called me and see if I wanted it for today! I definitely will be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't let the inconspicuous food truck on the corner distract you from the food being served up inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a few tables outside connected to no quarter for "dine in" dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was just saying yesterday how I haven't had a chance to get to Brave Idiot even though all their food is right up my alley. The hours don't work for me during the week but finally got to come on the weekend. I got level 7 "frisky business" spice chicken sandwich and it was definitely enough to open up the sinuses but I probably could've gone to 8/9 (I have a high spice tolerance). I haven't eaten French fries in 2 months so I can't tell if that's why, but these are some of the best fries I have had anywhere. Highly recommend and completely understand why this place gets so much hype. Portion size is massive.

Literally the best hot fried chicken I've had in Nashville. I got the chicken tenders at a medium spice level, which was perfect. The chicken is juicy and thick. The breading is crispy. The crinkle cut fries are seasoned to perfection. The ranch was so good, it reminded me of wingstop ranch. Even the burger was delicious. The employees are friendly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Primarily outdoor seating but were told we were allowed to sit in one of the establishments nearby.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outdoors at night, and it was nice![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Delicious. Friendly. Affordable. They gave me a cat discount for showing them my cat. The only negative I have here is I wish they were opened longer and more days cause it was hard to catch them during their open hours. I'd eat here several days in a row if I could. Tenders were large, the level 4 spice a good heat. The pickles seemed homemade and delicious. Gotta get extra of those next time. I have my eye on that chicken sandwich.

Brave Idiot was a very accurate name as the spice levels are pretty high! A lot spicier than Hattie B's. I got the level 4 for the hot chicken sandwich and while the chicken was very tender and juicy, I do wish i could have gotten a 1. Overall, the staff is very kind and I would return (but just order less spice)!

When Dylan Field was working at Southern Grist, he would often talk about his desire to open his own food truck and damn did he hit one out of the park. I am glad to see he is doing well. My first exposure to his food was when he hit Craft Brewed in Melrose (now a vape shop) with a burger pop up. Excellent burger. For the past few years, he has been a permanent popup at No Quarter - at first on the side, now in back. And recently, he was recognized as the best Hot Chicken in Nashville. I decided to put it to the test (not my first time eating his chicken, but first time since he hit #1). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food truck is a food truck (see picture). You order and get a pager to let you know when you grub is done. So not much ambiance, unless you consider trucks a form of ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is also pretty much like any food truck, although Dylan is more than happy to help you get the right level of spice (and trust me, he can light you up). NOTE: At the time, you got 10% off for showing your kitties (pictures of cats, get your mind out of the gutter). I order #6 out of 10. I wish I had been a bit milder, although this baby still has tons of flavor. I can just imagine what 10 is. Moist chicken, wonderful flavor. 10 out of 10. I can see why he got the award. The potato salad is a different than most and has a bit of an upscale flavor. I would say more 7 or 8 out of 10 here, but it is potato salad. For those hitting this spot, either pop into No Quarter or the cocktail bar next door (both allow you to bring in food) and grab a beer or mixed drink while you nom down on this great chicken.

Welcome to the best hot chicken in the city. I got a level 5 and it was perfect. Not too spicy, but still a little kick, great flavor, perfectly cooked- crispy and moist. Please do yourself a favor and go to brave idiot. They have a "crunchsmash" a smash burger in a crunch wrap. I have got to try this.

I ate my way through Nashville. Thought brave idiot is worth an exploration. Good value, great flavors and 4 out 10 is a fair spice level coming from someone who likes spice. Highly recommend a visit.

    Tendies level 5

One of the best chicken tendies I've had in my life, highly recommend trying this place.

Stoke Haus Brewing & BBQ is hands down the best BBQ experience of my life!…read more A few helpful tips before you go: parking is a little limited right in front and the entrance is easy to miss. There is additional parking around the side in an open lot that felt safe, was free (at least currently), and was super convenient. Once you arrive, walk around the left side of the building and order inside at the bar. They'll give you a pager, and when your food is ready, you'll head outside to the food truck for pickup. When we first walked in, I have to admit I thought, "What is that smell?" Then I realized it was the giant brewing vats and the smell of the beer-making process. Once I connected the dots, I actually started appreciating it and felt it added to the experience and the authenticity of the brewery. We tried their signature beer, a quality dark ale that paired perfectly with our meal. It had a great depth of flavor and was the perfect complement to the BBQ. For food, we ordered and split: Half order of ribs: incredibly tender with a crispy, flavorful top. They were packed with flavor and came with two dipping sauces. I preferred the BBQ sauce over the Carolina-style sauce, but both were enjoyable. Brussels sprouts: OH MY GOODNESS. I genuinely did not know vegetables could taste this good. Even my veggie-hating partner loved them, which honestly says everything. These were a standout. Mac & cheese: visually, this was beautiful and looked like it was going to be a favorite. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the way I expected and wasn't as satisfying as I hoped. THE BRISKET BURGER = THE STAR OF THE SHOW! I have never had a brisket burger before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was phenomenal. The Gouda cheese was incredible, and the combination of the mayo, pickles, and sauce created the perfect balance of flavors. It was everything you want in a burger and more. This is the dish I will be telling everyone about. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was fantastic. They have board games in the back, and it looks like they host karaoke nights, which gives the space a really fun, community-oriented feel. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and helpful. Honestly, there was nothing to complain about. Great food, great beer, great people, and a unique experience. Stoke Haus is a must-visit and if you go, do yourself a favor and order the brisket burger. You won't regret it.

We needed to eat before beginning our 2 hour drive home. I wanted BBQ but not from a chain. Not…read moresomewhere with a shiny sign, rocking chairs on the front porch, a front porch. You know the places I'm talking about. No, I wanted somewhere authentic. In a neighborhood, not near the mall. A place most people would drive past. Stoke Haus is all this and more. Much more. 2pm on Sunday and the parking lot was full. (I'm sure a good handful was for the liquor store next door). The first issue - how do you get in?? There is no front door. There is a tall wooden fence on the side of the building. I peek through the gap between the fence and the wall. A long smoker, a pile of wood, a small food truck (what???). I see a couple leaving the building by a side door. This must be it. There is a sign taped to the door: order at the bar and pick up at the truck. Following instructions, we approach the bar. The couple next to me just got their food. OMG. That looks so good. I ask what they have...brisket, a pulled pork sandwich, German potato salad, cole slaw, fried okra and a little pile of pickles and marinated onions. I don't even look at the menu. "I want that" I tell the bartender. We each order a beer (I forgot to mention that this is a brewery too). We received our beer and a buzzer, found a table and proceeded to play on our phones until the buzzer went off. My husband went outside to the food truck and came in with a metal tray nearly overflowing with food. We didn't waste a second digging in. The brisket was incredibly tender with a most amazing bark. A little too fatty, even for brisket, but still a "must order". The sandwich was absolutely stuffed with tender, juicy pulled pork. Perfection. The sides, especially the potato salad were excellent (though the okra wasn't made from scratch, it was still worthy). The pickles? That final little "oomph". Our meal wasn't just a home run, it was a grand slam! I've written a lot of reviews. I've written a lot of 5 star reviews. I'd love to be able to give Stoke Haus 10 stars. This is definitely a don't miss!!
