Nice place, but a few missteps prevent me from giving 5 stars. First, I was excited to see an Alsatian style pizza on the menu with carmelized onion, bacon and creme fraiche. Unfortunately the onions on the pizza were simply sweated, not carmelized. One other small misstep was the man who greeted us was a bit rude, I was about to ask a question and he cut me off with "Do you want to be on the (waiting) list?" Other than that, a good place and I could see why there's a 15 minute wait to get in. Food was very good and service was otherwise on point. read more

The wait was a bit long - It was a Saturday night and we were a party of 4, after all. Not a very large place, but that's what keeps its ambiance warm and intimate. In any event, the food was on par with some of the best tapas joints we've been to (in both NYC and NJ). Great seafood, roasted vegetable, and meat plates. Drinks were satisfying. The kids enjoyed the "artisanal" pizzas as well. And extra points for a celebrity sighting. A good time out for a meal in The Berkshires. Would recommend. read more

I went here for a romantic meal with my boyfriend while vacationing in the berkshires. We were blown away. Not only were the food and drink mind blowing but the service was amazing! We had John a young but knowledgable and friendly waiter. He was playing both waiter and bartender to about 50 guests and didn't miss a beat. Very helpful and attentive. So, may have just been the random experience, but experience was stained by a waitress who completely forgot about us after taking our order - she was very nice and we got drinks quickly, but then, about 20 minutes later as we noticed everyone else being served quickly we asked ..."I'm sorry, but I threw the piece of paper away that I wrote your order on." After reordering, we received a wrong item ...it, too was corrected. So, it happens, but it does flaw the experience. Especially since she didn't tell manager, with the expectation some portion of the experience would be corrected by a gratis dessert or another item. In any case, none of that happened, nor did she apologize when she delivered the check. Now, to the food ...the Patatas Bravas was the high point ...very good fried potatoes with hot spice. The caprese salad was ok, but tomatoes, after a big push by the same waitress as being organic, were a week away from being ripe. Calamari was good. Bison meatballs pretty dry with little flavor, except the extraordinarily over salted sauce. So, even taking back a star for the waitress' inability to serve, I would give Brava three stars. Oh, forgot to talk price. Food dishes are about 20% over price even considering the touristy nature of Lenox in the summer. I'm returning to Lenox for the great music at Tanglewood, but won't be back to Brava. read more

Fabulous little tapas bar in downtown Lenox. Friendly but small. Outstanding food. Some of the delicious dishes we shared included, the meatballs ( the best) , marinated olives and marcona almonds, Spanish potato dish ( spicy) , hummus olive bruschetta , sausage pizza. I get that tapas means small plates. But the price-per-portion is just outrageous. This place shouldn't bill itself as a restaurant; it should call itself a bar, because if you want a real meal, you'll have to spend as much money as you would on a dinner for ten people. The Swiss chard was cooked with blackened garlic or some such thing, which created a very odd, burnt-and-sour flavor, totally overwhelming. The steak with chimichurri sauce was very nice, but again, for seventeen dollars, the amount of food on the plate seemed rather meager. I've had appetizers at fancypants restaurants that were nearly twice the size. We chose this place because of the positive buzz, but I felt like I was getting ripped off. And I live in San Francisco, so that's really saying something. read more

We initially we're planning to eat at District, but the road was blocked on the way into Pittsfield. We searched high and low for good food in Lenox , and passed over this place a few times thinking they only served wine and beer. We decided to go. The wings were awesome, calimari was great, the lamb chops were fantastic and their shrimp in garlic sauce was amazing. Brava is a very charming and small restaurant in the downtown Lenox area that has the look and feel of a tapas and wine bar with an almost equal emphasis on Spanish tapas and Italian favorites. I chose the gambas and Spanish meatballs for dinner, two of my Spanish favorites. The gambas were nicely flavored with a butter and garlic sauce, but my suggestion to the chef would be to change the cooking method, taste and presentation. In Spain and great Spanish restaurants in America, gambas are sauteed until brown or crisp in garlic butter or olive oil in a black skillet, and often served in that same small skillet. The combination of flavors served with toasted bread is a culinary delight. But at Brava, the failure to sautee the shrimp and served in a white bowl left me feeling that something less than authentic Spanish. On the other hand, the meatballs were amazing. The restaurant bakes rather than sautees the meatballs so that they maintain a soft texture that I really enjoyed. The red sauce veers from traditional marinara and has a more rich and sweet flavor. While I did not have the dishes, the romaine salad (served in a whole romaine leaf), and the crispy calamari looked very inviting. Finally, I topped off my meal with one of my favorite wines, a nice Primitivo. The owner and staff were friendly and ensured a pleasurable experience. read more

Be forewarned. This joint gets crowded if you go right at the dinner rush on a Saturday night. Nestled in downtown Lenox, which is basically one square block with restaurants, coffee shops, and other business establishments, Brava has got to be one of the more popular operations in this town. We first tried to go on a Saturday night around 6:00 and couldn't even get through the door. We returned Sunday around 8:00, which was much emptier. This place has many of the usual tapas suspects... patatas bravas, gambas, steak with chumchurri, lamb chops, calamari... we ordered several small plates, and they all came out pretty quickly. My favorite was what I think was called rock and roll shrimp? It was described as a lightly breaded and pan fried shrimp in sweet and sour sauce. Whatever it was, it was super delicious. The sea scallops were also nicely seared with a tasty sauce. The white bean bruschetta was not quite what I expected... just two slices of toast with white bean hummus and tapenade on top. It tasted fine by I thought there would be more of it. Maybe the best bang for the buck dish is the pimentos-- it was literally a plate piled high with blistered pimentos, if that's your thing. Good wine selection selection as well and fast service. Also I believe they are open until midnight. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town. read more

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Came with my fiancée for my birthday and we were excited to have a great night. Was a busy Saturday night. We put our name on the list, and were told to come back in 20 min. It took over twice that time for our name to come up, but finally we were next on the list. We were told that the next 2 seats to open up were all ours. 5 people at the bar got up and exited, and we were looking forward to sitting down and ordering. Instead, the hostess looked at the 5 seats that had opened up and called the next 2 couples that were after us on the list, plus us. The problem was, there was 5 seats open- and she had told all 6 of us to sit. The other 2 couples sat themselves right away, leaving my fiancée and I with one seat for the 2 of us. We were confounded- even though we had been at the top of the list as the next people to be seated, after patiently waiting our turn, somehow we'd gotten the short end of the stick. The host had allowed the 4 people after us on the list to be seated first. When she saw that we were left with one seat between the 2 of us, she offered to get another barstool. The problem was, the bar was INCREDIBLY tight for space as it was. Adding another seat would make it super uncomfortable to even have a drink, much less order and eat food. As we were there for a birthday dinner, this was a hard pill to swallow. The host disappeared into the basement and returned with an extra barstool. But there was no where to put it. The other 2 couples (who were behind us on the list, but had sat down before us) shifted as much as they could, but the space was already tight for 5 seats, much less 6. We tried to make the best of it but it was immediately apparent that we couldn't eat under these circumstances. We were so cramped that everyone's elbows were sticking into each other. We were devastated, but decide our only option was to leave. It was much too uncomfortable to even sit and order a drink - the idea that we were expected to eat dinner in such cramped conditions was ridiculous. The upsetting part was, if we had we been seated as we should have - as the next on the list- it would have been fine. But for some reason the Host tried to sit 6 people in a space that was already very tight for 5 people. We were left high and dry while people that hadn't waited as long as us sat down first and the host tried to add a chair where there just wasn't enough space. We asked several times if there was any way we could be moved to a table as we were so squeezed that it was impossible to move. She said we would have to wait for the next table. The upsetting thing was, we HAD been next for a table. We were happy anywhere, bar, table, whatever. But what we didn't expect is to be forced into a space never meant for more than 4-5 stools, and to be expected to accommodate people that were behind us on the list being seated first and leaving us with the short end of the stick. The whole experience was a complete lack of costumer service, and there was no respect for the fact we'd waited our turn. Really horrible experience. The host did nothing to rectify her mistake of trying to seat 6 people where only max 5 people could fit - and letting people behind us on the list sit first. We had to leave without a drink or dinner, due to how tight and uncomfortable everything was. Went from what we hoped would be a wonderful night, to a really frustrating situation. Incredibly poor costumer service. Don't bother with this place, there are other restaurants in town (which we had to go find when we couldn't have our birthday dinner here) that have much better customer service. After arriving in Lenox late on a Friday night, there were few options after 10 pm for dinner. The concierge at the Cranwell recommended this place. It's mostly small plates with a huge craft beer and excellent wine list. The venue is small and was a bit crowded but we found a seat in the corner and ordered a few small dishes. Food was good. I found the pizza a little thick for my tasted but it tasted good. Service was ok but they were crowded and I'm sure the staff had a lot going on. read more

Absolutely amazing. Lenox can, at times feel a little stuffy, but the dining experience here was fresh and hip. A decent variety of tapas both in content and in price can be obtained. I loved Brava - the atmosphere and setting is great, the service is great and the food and wine is great. We went in on a Wednesday evening, it wasn't particularly busy but it still had a nice 'buzz' about it. The menu looked so delicious, and we had some olives to start out. They were great - and we felt we should have some wine to go with it... One of the things I love about Brava is there is a great selection of beers (huge!) and wines, with a good number available by the glass. But what is really fantastic is that you can order a 'flight' of wines - three glasses, there are several different options available in white, red and rose, so you can try several different types. The prices are around $15 for three, and the pours are very generous - so I thought it was pretty good value considering you can easily pay $10 for one glass in many places. The wines were fantastic, as well. As for the food, this did not disappoint. We had some absolutely delicious sauteed brussel sprouts with bacon - simple, but so good. We also have one of the delicious bruschettas - buffalo mozzarella, house-made tomato jam, and basil. So fantastic and perfectly balanced. Finally, we had a pizza, with wild mushrooms, thyme and fontina, which was very naughty but really delicious. We had more food than we could eat between the two of us, and left feeling we'd had a great evening. The service was great throughout, and I think we paid around $40 each, including tip, which I thought was pretty reasonable given the quality of the food. Extensive selection of beer and wine, really , pages and pages to choose from. Excellent food. Cheese and charcuterie selection is nice, delicious pizza's. Boom boom shrimp and seared scallops are both a favorite of mine. I've tried most everything on the menu and I have yet to dislike anything I've ordered. Friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff. Definitely the best dining option in Lenox. The place is small and I believe they do not take reservations for party's under 6 so come early if possible. read more

Passing through Western MA on a trip to see the family, and Brava was a delicious surprise! As good and comfortable as the best, neighborhood wine/small plate restaurants in Sonoma and Napa Valley. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the food and wine they serve, and rightly so - they have a lot to be proud of. Came here at around 6pm on a Saturday night before a show at Tanglewood. The place was full but we were lucky enough to sit within 10 minutes. The place is small, tables along the wall and then a decent sized bar. We started off with the calamari. Very lightly breaded (which I like) and a nice remoulade to dip. For an entrée, my girlfriend and I got the salmon burgers (came with 2) and then we split a delicious salad. Pretty much made our own salmon burger salad. Very very good food and very reasonable price. The service was very friendly and prompt. Would love to come back for some tapas and wine. read more

This place was amazing. I was in the Berkshires on a business trip, and I ended up going here for dinner. They have a fantastic wine list. Their food is really good. I typically don't have a full three course meal for work dinners, but everything was so good that I just wanted to try everything. The waitresses were super friendly and helpful.
