Great everything. Amazingly cheap ice cream. Cone prices from the 1980s! We go to a Braums whenever we visit Texas

They have a great store and restaurant setting here. Great dairy products and the tastiest ice cream.

The pancakes were sweet where you might like them without any syrup, but not overly sweet at all and the nice crispy surface on the bottom of the pancake made for a great texture that app not had before and loved! I wish I had her name but our waitress was very nice and gave great service with a big smile. I can see why the place is popular with the locals. They also do a buffet if you are looking for that. I ate it up so fast that I forgot to take a picture for this review.

The mashed potatoes, gravy and fried okra were really tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. In case you're interested, I guess they have a buffet every day. I looked at it before we ordered. There was spaghetti, chicken-fried chicken, and fried catfish. They have two or three of the typical buffet vegetables along with a salad bar. All of the things on the salad bar looked fresh, but they had those little red BB's that are a substitute for bacon bits. That is classic West Texas, small town salad bar right there. Made me smile (though I did not eat any of them). :-) We would certainly come back here and try some of the other fare. I hope the good folks of Childress,Texas continue to support this family restaurant.

Happened to have a to-go steak salad on a Saturday and the steak was absolute bomb. Less so when on the flat-top on a weekday, but was appreciative of the effort and kind service. Chicken fried steak, pie, and tots were also great! Catch the weekend steak if you can, though.

It's in the golf course, and I guess the restaurant is in the club house. When you walk in, there is a pool table room. It's a pretty spacious room for a pool table, not cramped at all like so many other bars. The next room is the bar and restaurant seating. I like the booths along the wall; it adds privacy as you eat. Stormy was our server, and she was absolutely excellent. She was super attentive and eager to answer any questions we had about the menu. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer, and Stormy brought them to us quickly with homemade ranch dressing. They were nice and hot with just a bit of spice. The pickles were very good and as I'm writing this I'm craving more. For dinner, I ordered cheese fries and a side salad. The salad was good, typical iceberg lettuce, and great croutons. My cheese fries were just OK; I would've liked them more crispy, but the fries themselves looked hand cut with just a bit of skin on them. This restaurant doesn't have much for vegetarians, but Stormy was happy to help with the menu. I think next time I will try some other things on the menu; most of the sides are vegetarian. The bar looks like a full bar. They do offer bottled beverages too. I had a margarita-style bottled drink, and it was pretty good. My friend had a mixed drink, but I'm not sure what it was. I was happy to try this place. It serves very typical dive bar food, but there are also a few things on the menu that isn't typical. I can say the prices are rather high for the area. I'll probably be back sooner rather than later for more fried pickles!
