Apple tart

Waiter was very patient and accommodating and really took best care of us. Unfortunately, that's the only positive to this place. As far as our food was concerned, I didn't feel it was worth the money nor my presence. Came with a relative upon her recommendation, however, I didn't like the risotto at all and though I like pistachio, I've never had it in a warm/hot fashion. The flavor was def not appealing to me after I got it and regretted it instantly. Being vegetarians, they only had 2 items to select from. 2, not including the fries, which shouldn't count anyways.

Raymond Blanc has achieved something unusual in the City; a place where good restaurants jostle for space. A beautifully designed, warm and interesting brasserie which, despite its location in the shadow of the Bank of England and beneath the former Stock Exchange, is very reasonably priced. I went there early for Friday lunch and was given a table in the bar as the restaurant itself was fully booked, and had an utterly satisfactory meal. The menu is quite short - always a good sign - and the descriptions confidently brief. We had a superb tart with St Loup goat's cheese and fresh figs on the finest crisp base, a haddock with chunky chips and mushy peas which put British fish and chips to shame, and a delicious grilled squid on a rocket and parmesan salad. The girls then exceeded their brief by ordering a Bombe Alaska (for two) and the smell of Grand Marnier singed meringue was soon drifing across the table and attracting admiring glances from around the room. For me, Bombe Alaska isn't as good as a crepe suzette (which sadly they don't do), but it made the girls very happy and there was plenty left for me. Charming and quick service added to the surprisingly wallet-friendly bill (though admittedly we only drank water) made this one of the best finds of all my years in the City. for another superlative fish and chips, see the Grosvenor House/JW Marriott - again, not British.....

Classic marble decor, with 10m ceilings, but still a bit dark with full sun outside. And the flat stone walls reflect sound, so with the 60 ground floor seats and 20 first floor seats... It's not that quiet. Commercialisation is creeping in, with the Galvin name etched on each water bottle and each wine glass. And little cards on each table advertising: "Sunday Roast, SALE, Lunch, 3 courses and a 375ml carafe of wine!" Even the final printed bill reminds you of the lunch specials at both restaurants owned by Galvin. Servers were mostly excellent, though a few were not completely familiar with the menu, "Where is this butter from?" "It's English butter." Thanks. Very informative. We're in England. Anf why can't I cut the duck breast? Oh. It's not the duck, which is cooked perfectly, it's the dull steak knife. Really? Lost it's way. I'll return, but not soon. Maybe they'll find their way before then. 2025 09 01. M1. 248.

The food wasn't bad but, for the price, and Michelin reputation, we were expecting fantastic food all the way through. Between my wife and I we spent roughly $200 pounds on wine and $200 on the food. We had a total of 8 dishes between us and liked about 5 of them. In the end we both wished we had just gone for some curry.

And thankfully it didn't disappoint. The truffle cheeseburger was delicious, not too overpowering on the truffle flavour, the burger was cooked to perfection and the overall experience was class. The fries with truffle mayo were also lush. Also had a good chat with the dude serving. Long live Le Bun

Recently I went to the new residency in Leicester House of Le Bun UK with some friends…read more Le Bun team turned Leicester House into a temporary diner for a few weeks until they opened a new residency in a different address. Le Bun offers a selection of American burgers based on some French classic recipes and ingredients. Everything on the menu sounded great and tasty: "pigeon & foie gras", "truffle Mayo", "Bourguignon glaze"... I'm stopping the list as I am starting to drool right now ! Two of us ordered the truffle cheeseburger, one of us had the duck bun and the last one challenged himself with the truffle double double with extra "bacon salt". When the food arrived we were told they had sold out of bacon salt so my friend had a huge slice of bacon in the burger instead which made the whole burger look gigantic. On the side we had two fries with signature truffle Mayo and a few cocktails. The cocktail's names and what seemed to be their origin were quite interesting. My New Yorker friend and I went for the Super Skinny Bitch cocktail which she never heard of before despite the fact it mentioned New York next to it. Our other friends had a few lagers and a Drive Thru Bubblegum Daiquiri. The Cocktails were all great and not too pricey. Back to the food, the truffle cheeseburger was just amazingly faultless. The juicy meat was perfectly cooked with a generous slice of melted cheese and huge amount of truffle Mayo. My friend and I regretted we didn't order the truffle double double like our friend because to be honest even if it was surely full of fatty meat, cheese and bun, it was actually light in taste and very easy to eat...maybe to quick to eat too! The fries were simple but good but the portion was a bit small. Again what made the difference was the succulent truffle mayonnaise, we did requested some extra for the table. The duck bun was in my opinion great too with a slightly juicy pulled confit duck. My boyfriend who ordered it thought it was less good than a Frenchie's confit duck burger. We ended our meal with their delicious tarte satin. Their residency ends this weekend on the 22nd of May at Leicester House so I would highly recommend you go and try their delicious burger otherwise you will have to wait for their next pop up.

I had a Groupon for their Sunday buffet, and it sounded like a great deal, but it's NOT WORTH IT!! The service were dicks, they only wanted you order drinks, and the buffet was LAME. It was nice, but there weren't a lot of options, and it wasn't so much a buffet as it was a few tables with food laid out on them. THEN they had the BALLS to charge us a service fee and an entry fee!! Our "good deal" ended up being a TOTAL bust. Do NOT go there. Also, who goes to a chain place like this and orders a £1000 bottle of champagne??? WHY IS THAT EVEN ON THE MENU! Stop trying to pretend you are a classy french restaurant. You aren't.

We were literally trying to get the waiters attention from the moment we got there... actually make that before we even walked in the door. They didn't even ask how the meal was = this isn't a macca's and for the prices the service has a lot more to ask for... With extras included this didn't turn out to be a very good deal at all, especially considering half of my steak was left on my plate and I had to eat 1/4 of my friends instead. They never received our service fee which was sneakily included into the bill and i was not ashamed to walk away without paying it. I would NEVER pay full prices there - it was overpriced - give me GAUCHOS anyday...
