Chez Elles is definitely worth a visit if you're around Brick Lane or Spitalfields - a delicious, kitschy gem hidden among the sea of curry houses. The decor in Chez Elles is eclectic and adorable - the birdcages, plates and framed vintage prints, along with the loveseat in the corner and French tunes are the stuff of instagram dreams. It has a really nice atmosphere, and with a lot of conversation pieces it's the kind of place that would work well for a meal out with friends or a first date. I also thoroughly enjoyed the mismatching cutlery and plates - it added to the character of the place: life is far too short for matching sets. We went straight for the mains in order to make good time to make the show, though I was particularly tempted by the Foie Gras. The service was friendly and helpful, which is always a bonus. Always a fan of anything raw, I went for the tartare de boeuf et frites maison, or steak tartar. It was seasoned beautifully, accompanied by a perfectly dressed salad and crisp frites. The best steak tartar I've had in London yet! Chez Elles have really nailed it - a charming vibe, excellent food, great location - which is a refreshing change from the increasingly anonymous monotony of Brick Lane curry houses (though I'm open to recommendations). It was an absolute pleasure.

No much expectation at the begging. After a long Morning in the market. choose this restaurant for lunch at 2PM 6/2. Apettizer is normal. One main course (steak) is awesome. and dessert is unique. Consider the place. portion and price. Four is reasonable.

This place had one of the higher ratings in the bricklane area. We decided on a whim to come here and luckily there was enough room to fit us two. This place is a nice little french restaurant with an ambiance that is both comfortable and lively. There isn't a who lot of room so if you got a party larger than 6 you might have some trouble. My Co worker and I ordered the snails for starter, beef tartar and mussels and fries for mains. The food came out quicker than expected considering this place was full. The servers were very nice and respectful. They came out with two slices of bread and butter. The bread was dry and not very good. The food we ordered though was pretty good but I've had better. The mussels were decent as is lacked a bit of flavor. The snails were very nice and rich and the beef tartar was well portioned but for me it had a little too much horse radish and not even seasoning. If you're in the mood for French food this is probably one of the better places that I've seen but for me I wouldn't come back. Ambiance 5/5 food 3/5 service 4/5 value 3/5

Chez Elles is the restaurant I have been the most in London. It is a very cute, little French bistrot in the heart of Brick lane. The decoration is a beautiful, higgledy-piggledy mix. The food is delicious and affordable. The whole experience is always a huge success thanks to Nadia, Aurélie and their team who are very friendly and make you feel like home. Every visit gets better and better all the time. I went last time to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, we shared duck rillette with a jug of red wine, we both had the confit duck main course, follow by the delicious vanilla and pistachio creme brulée.

Dessert: poached peach slices with raspberry sorbet and shortbread

Had a cheese fondue dinner at Androuet one night, and needed to find a nice little place for coffee and dessert. The waiter recommended Chez Elles, and was kind enough to call them for us to reserve a table :) The French bistro was incredibly nice, and it was too bad I was already full because their menu looked delicious! For dessert, we just had the vanilla + pistachio creme brulee, and a poached peach slices with a raspberry sorbet and shortbread. The brulee was OK, I couldn't quite detect the pistachio - but I really liked the poached pear. Maybe I'm more particular to fruits :) Dessert was great, but I will definitely come back to try their main courses. Update to come at a later date :)

Ambiance is super cozy and cute. Perfect for a group or couples (but I recommend making a reso bc the place is small). The food was tasty and good. I would say the portion for the Coq au vin tagliatelles (£14.50) was small for the price...hence the 3 star instead of 4. But, the taste was perfect and the juiciness of the chicken was spot on. Staff was very friendly and service was great.

What a wonderful find! The ambiance in here is superb and the fabulous food, plus exemplary service only makes Chez Elles that much better. Each table is adorned with a candelabra, giving the low lit shabby chic French restaurant a very romantic feel. We had the escargot and cheese plate to start, followed by the duck leg confit as our entree and a rich dark chocolate cake for dessert. All enjoyed with a bottle of Malbec. Can't recommend this place enough!

Great little French restaurant, I felt like I was in France even though I've never been there. Great food, service and ambiance. This was right down the street from the flat on Heneage I was staying in, so it was pretty easy to take a quick walk down and indulge. I sometimes poked my head in just for desert. Fabulous onion soup!

I am a total Francophile, who takes any opportunity to cross the channel, so if a restaurant makes me think I'm in France then it gets a big thumbs up from me. I've been to this restaurant 5 or 6 times now, and from my 2nd visit I was greeted like a friend. I'm not looking for a Cheers moment, but that moment of recognition goes a long way in a bustling metropolis like London. And the food. Always fresh, great favours and thoughtful presentation. The goats cheese salad I had on my last visit was a perfectly dressed combination of colourful salad items, topped with a generous slab of goats cheese on toast. And the pistachio and chocolate creme brûlée is a little bit of heaven, smooth and creamy with a lovely crisp top. Washed down with a glass from their extensive wine list, you could be in a side street in Paris.

If you're looking for a truly unique and authentic wine experience this is the place. Tony, the owner, is so proud of his store and so passionate about his wine and produce. Everything is fresh and of top quality but at reasonable prices. We started with a glass of their lemoncello and grapefruit prosecco. For someone that doesn't really like prosecco, I loved this. We then ordered a charcuterie board (3 choices for £10) served with crackers and a lovely chutney. We had the salami and special black pepper sausage with tunworth cheese. The cheese was outstanding - packed full of flavour and melted in your mouth. The meats too exquisite - the salami was our favourite for sure! We also had a side of bread and olives. The olives were pure buttery goodness! We couldn't get enough! We also ordered the baby squid in tomato sauce - it was tasty but slightly too fishy for us. Still fantastic quality though. I then had a glass of their Italian rose and a glass of their homemade red. Both delicious, the Rose in particular was fresh and just perfect for a summers day. We couldn't have left happier and every mouthful was a pure delight! We'll be back! :)

We saw that they sold bottled beers, as well as some on draught, so we thought we'd enjoy a peek before dinner. We both had a pint, and it was so fresh and lively that it took about 10 minutes to get our pints. The inside is rustic and inviting. It would be a great spot for the pub crawls we put on for a group we lead. They do offer a large selection of wines, as well as some meats and nibbles. They've only been open a short time, but it's a nice venue that I hope gets some attention, and can expand their beer selection as time goes on. It's my understanding that it is also associated with Trattoria Sapori (same ownership), so I believe it'll do quite well. Check it out if you're in the area.

Finally made it in for wine and nibbles, and am so happy I did!…read more Our group of 3 found a cozy candlelit table in the back, and order a selection of wines by the glass that were on offer and very reasonably priced, between £4.50-£5.50 per glass. The menu is small but has all the essentials that a wine bar should have- charcuterie and cheese, tapenade, bread olives etc. After one glass we decided to try a bottle, and on recommendation by the staff ordered a lovely red from the cote du Rhone region, which was lush and velvety and fairly priced at £17.50 (plus £5 corkage to drink in). Lovely atmosphere with very friendly and knowledgable staff, great spot for some casual drinks and bites!

All of the wines are excellent value and there is a really interesting range of European focused wines to choose from(mainly French and Italian). They also have a really good lineup of local beers. The staff know everything on the shelves and will guide you in the right direction depending on what you like and budget. They also have wines by the glass that rotate regularly and are around the £4-6 mark. They are now doing a simple but really well-executed menu of food: mainly focused on charcuterie, cheese and different flavoured bruschettas. So similar to what the other wine bars are doing around London but a little bit better. Their burrata is large but disappears very quickly from the table... All of their cured meats are delicious too. If you need to get out of the house in the morning it's a great place to read a book/newspaper and enjoy a beautiful Italian roast coffee and some sourdough toast. You can also buy this bread to takeaway.
