Classic marble decor, with 10m ceilings, but still a bit dark with full sun outside. And the flat stone walls reflect sound, so with the 60 ground floor seats and 20 first floor seats... It's not that quiet. Commercialisation is creeping in, with the Galvin name etched on each water bottle and each wine glass. And little cards on each table advertising: "Sunday Roast, SALE, Lunch, 3 courses and a 375ml carafe of wine!" Even the final printed bill reminds you of the lunch specials at both restaurants owned by Galvin. Servers were mostly excellent, though a few were not completely familiar with the menu, "Where is this butter from?" "It's English butter." Thanks. Very informative. We're in England. Anf why can't I cut the duck breast? Oh. It's not the duck, which is cooked perfectly, it's the dull steak knife. Really? Lost it's way. I'll return, but not soon. Maybe they'll find their way before then. 2025 09 01. M1. 248.

The food wasn't bad but, for the price, and Michelin reputation, we were expecting fantastic food all the way through. Between my wife and I we spent roughly $200 pounds on wine and $200 on the food. We had a total of 8 dishes between us and liked about 5 of them. In the end we both wished we had just gone for some curry.

I am going to categorize this place under the group "I would never pay full price here". But even…read moreafter THAT I still wouldn't come back here. I had a Groupon for their Sunday buffet, and it sounded like a great deal, but it's NOT WORTH IT!! The service were dicks, they only wanted you order drinks, and the buffet was LAME. It was nice, but there weren't a lot of options, and it wasn't so much a buffet as it was a few tables with food laid out on them. THEN they had the BALLS to charge us a service fee and an entry fee!! Our "good deal" ended up being a TOTAL bust. Do NOT go there. Also, who goes to a chain place like this and orders a £1000 bottle of champagne??? WHY IS THAT EVEN ON THE MENU! Stop trying to pretend you are a classy french restaurant. You aren't.

We were literally trying to get the waiters attention from the moment we got there... actually make that before we even walked in the door. They didn't even ask how the meal was = this isn't a macca's and for the prices the service has a lot more to ask for... With extras included this didn't turn out to be a very good deal at all, especially considering half of my steak was left on my plate and I had to eat 1/4 of my friends instead. They never received our service fee which was sneakily included into the bill and i was not ashamed to walk away without paying it. I would NEVER pay full prices there - it was overpriced - give me GAUCHOS anyday...
