Branning Auto Body in Freehold has been the premier body shop in Monmouth County for decades. My family has had several cars repaired there over the years. Two years ago, my son had his Toyota Tacoma repaired due to a collision involving the driver's side door. Over the past year, we noticed that the paint began to bubble and peel in a few areas. Branning provides a lifetime warranty against defects in repairs. We brought the truck back for inspection a couple of weeks ago. George, the manager, took one look at the door and agreed that something under the paint caused the defects. There were no questions asked, no excuses made and no blame directed at anybody. George directed Donna in the office to arrange a schedule for repair. Donna was polite and helpful. The truck was brought back in on a Monday and was completed by Friday. The door looks brand new and George assured us that we would have no future issues. Worst car repair shop! Does not even deserve one star. Never bother to call you back with updates. When you finally get manager on phonehe tells you something else discovered broken.Was not broken when car first brought in and inspected. This was after almost 2 weeks of car being left there. They took my Tesla in Oct of 2022, We are now in Feb 2023, and I have yet to get a time or day to pick it up. I've been calling every single day for about a week and a half now, they say the car is on the cleanup line. The audacity that prompted me to write a review was the poor customer service; the person on the other line, as rude as you can think, said to call back at 4 pm to see if the car was ready. Worse experience ever. I will contact an attorney since I have all the email conversations saved. If I don't get my car by next week, this place will have to deal with someone else. The people in-charge of repairing my 2013 BMW X1 with Claim Number 23-4927950-01 were all incompetent & unreliable The first time I picked up my car on Friday, April 28, 2023 and they said everything was working good, But only to find out that same night that the aftermarket adaptive headlight they've used is defective and showing error. So i called them the following day, Saturday, April 29, 2023 to inform them of the issue. i told them that they should used the OEM BMW Valeo adaptive headlight. That same day I called my adjuster and left a message about the issue. so my adjuster approved to use OEM BMW headlight. and additional use of rental car was approve. Friday May 5, 2023, Branning called and told me that my car was ready for pick-up. So i went there immediately coming from my hip doctor appointment that day. I was assured that my car oem passenger side headlight was programmed and working properly. That same night, I drove my car to see if everything was working properly especially the passenger side headlight. I was so frustrated to find out that my passenger side headlight has NO HIGH BEAM BEAM LIGHT and that the LOW BEAM WAS POINTING DOWNWARD ON THE STREET JUST A FEW FEET AWAY FROM MY CAR unlike my driver side which illuminates the road much farther away thus giving brighter view on the left side of the road. So I called them the next day and told them the issue. They want me to bring the car back to them on Monday. i told them to contact my adjuster and informed her of the situation and the issue. Emily said she's going to call me back. Emily called again and informed me that i can bring my car on Monday May 8,2023 and they got a loaner car that I can use. Luckily my spouse was off and he drove me to Branning that Monday morning. I ask for Jo to tell him about the issue. Jo insisted that he checked it himself and that the adaptive headlight was programmed and working properly. I told him its not and that high beam was not working. He checked the headlight and he found out its not working. He said to leave the car and it would take about 45 minutes to an hour to programmed and fixed the issue. So we drove using the loaner car to eat breakfast rather than wait for an hour or so. After an hour branning called me that the car is ready. After eating breakfast we head straight to the shop to get the car. I ask for Jo again and again he told me that the headlight should be working fine since it was programmed already. I ask him if they adjusted the height of the low beam and he replied that I don't have to worry as they programmed it already and it should work fine. I had to see it by myself and noticed that the driver side headlight was clearly illuminating the lens while the passenger side was not. Jo again insisted that he checked and tested it after programming. He also reasoned out that the driver side is older and that the lens is somehow old and been affected by the heat while the passenger side headlight is new thus you cannot see the light shining on the lens. He told me to check it at night. Around 2pm, I parked my car facing the apartment wall and turn on the bright high beam light on. I saw that only the driver side is showing the high beam on the wall and not the passenger side. So I called Branning and look for Jo. I told Jo about the HIGH BEAM NOT WORKING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT. HE AGAIN INSISTED THAT IT'S WORKING AND THAT HE TESTED IT HIMSELF. I replied it's not as i tested it myself with the wall. he said that i tried it night time. I told him that its not working. He then reasoned out that my BMW was showing low battery and that's maybe the reason why it's not working. I told him it's showing low battery as I don't drive my BMW that much. I also told him if the battery voltage is low or my battery is bad, then my car would have a hard time starting. Also my voltmeter is showing 13.8-14volts reading. Then Jo said that my driver side headlight is old compared to the new one which is why it's not the same. So the older 2018 driver side headlight is properly working and giving a brighter light while the new passenger side headlight high beam is not working at all and the low beam is pointing way down the ground. What a dumb stupid reasoning. JO then shifted and told me that maybe the new headlight is defective and that he need to check it. so Jo and his mechanics had my car twice to program, adjust and tested the new adaptive headlight and yet they were not able to have it work properly. he even lied to me twice that he checked and tested it and that its working properly when in fact its not. If Jo really tested said headlight, he will already know what causing all the issue the first time. and then the 2nd time, still NO HIGH BEAM & LOW BEAM POINTING WAY DOWN THE GROUND AVOID HAVING YOUR CAR FIXED BY BRANNING AS THEIR MECHANICS ARE NO GOOD, INCOMPETENT AND UNRELIABLE. THEY WOULD EVEN LIE TO YOUR FACE AND MAKE A LOT EXCUSES AND NOT ADMITS TO THEIR OWN INCOMPETENCE. read more

Couldn't thank Dan, Noelle, and Kelly enough for all they did to get my car back to me promptly and LIKE NEW. I found Branning after my car was hit by a guy not paying attention at a stop sign. I was dreading bringing my car in for fixing because i had bad experiences in the past bringing my cars anywhere to be fixed. This car was less than a week old and when I thought of bringing it anywhere I was so overwhelmed because of what could have been a lengthy process to get it fixed. To my surprise, Dan got my car on Weds, and by Saturday I had keys in my hand. Branning exceeded my expectations and the car looks like it was never in an accident. DO NOT bring your vehicle here. I brought my vehicle there and now it is at another body shop fixing all of Branning's mistakes. Branning tried to fix the issue more then once but in the end I knew they could not get the job done right. So now the car is at another body shop getting repaired the correct way. I have brought several cars to Branning's, mostly because of my friendship with one of the Branning's. The service has been good in the past, but sort of slacked off towards the end after bringing my last car there. There is so much slow to respond and somewhat slow to get things done with regards to communicating with the insurance company. Then this is quite a distance for me, as mentioned above my brother because of my friendship with the Branning's, but now that my friend is no longer working there I will bring it so much closer to where I live. read more

Biggest ripoff! Had an accident 4 miles away. Police insisted I have my car towed there even though I had towing with my insurance company. Said it was free! 2 days later $145 for the tow and $340 for rent to keep it in their lot. All with a smile as they screwed you and gave you no information. Should have left the car there it cost me more than the scrap payment for the car. Stay away!!! Have to wonder when an auto body looks that nice. read more

Just awful. I'm not qualified to agree or disagree with anyone who said 2 months to fix the front end of my car was far too long. I'm not an industry expert. But Branning received $10k from my insurance company to make the car repairs following an accident. I brought the car home and it leaked oil all over my driveway and street and Branning never apologized or offered to clean it up. 2 days later I visited my dealer to have an additional repair made which Branning claimed was not a result of the car accident. Nissan told me the radiator fan was not put back properly and charged me $300 to install it properly. I asked Branning to either reimburse me or simply explain why it would be my financial responsibility as I'd be willing to listen. The only response was that the manager needed to review. That was almost 2 months ago. Neither the manager nor admin responded back after several emails and phone messages. Just awful. I think giving back $300 when you were paid over $10k is more than reasonable if a dealership said the job was not done correctly. I can't comment on the quality of work, but to never respond back with an answer is downright despicable. Shame on you Branning. read more

I'll let you decide if you want to go here after you read this: Brief synopsis- Car crash (two vehicles involved) my car was towed to Branning along with the other car. Two weeks go by and I go to Branning to get the vehicle towed to my house to save storage fees of 48 dollars a day (no work was done here and insurance is still working on payment). I pay with my credit card and all is good ($1,000 tow and storage fees +taxes for two weeks). After payment was made (no one asked for my ID to use the card by the way) I was given a receipt and I gave her the address the car was going to. She then says I need to give her my driver's license. I tell her no and ask why do they need my driver's license. She says it's the law...I politely decline and say that's not true and its not the law. She leaves and gets someone from the back office who immediately has an attitude and says the same thing...I decline to give my ID. She says it's the law and their policy. I ask to see the law and or policy. She says no and then she says she is going to call the police and does so. When the police answer she says, "There is a man being belligerent, reaching across the counter and scaring me." I ask my son to start recording this as nothing she has said so far is the truth (they have video cameras recording this area. If anything i say is not true they can easily post the video here). The woman on the phone with the police now says "and now they are recording me." Yes, that's the first truthful thing she has said. She never said to the police that I was there "breaking the law by not giving my drivers license"..I stand there politely and wait for the police. Three show up and I'm still standing there politely and now speaking with the police. Luckily the police were understanding of my position and also didn't charge her with false reports to police NJSA 2C:28-4. A law she clearly broke. Good luck at this business...it was a stressful and unnecessary encounter for me. read more

I was recommended to go here by several friends after my dad got into a major accident. My dad was calling them every other day for updates and they never had an update. Finally about a week later, they informed us that it would cost a certain amount but they could not give us the whole amount until they look over the damage inside. Okay... no problem, we will let it slide. TWO WEEKS AFTER THIS.... and $800 in storage fees alone, they still never got back to us. My dad has specifically asked 3 weeks ago, "Can I keep my car here? Will there be any fees?" and the response was, "Yes you can keep your car here, no fees." However, they forgot to mention the $40 a day that Jersey mandates which we didn't know about until we spoke to a friend who informed us of this. Branning should have notified us of this RIGHT AWAY even if it isn't their specific fee. Branning also managed to lie about how my family was cursing and extremely rude to them. We recorded every conversation... not one curse word was ever said. That being said, a few curse words should have been said considering they waited forever to get to us. Here's the best part... when they finally did get back to us, they couldn't fix the car because it's too dirty inside and no one wanted to get in. Seriously?! You can't fix our car because it's too dirty?! Now anyone who has been following my reviews for quite some time knows that my mother is severely disabled and also has a toilet in the car due to this which apparently really turns off mechanics. Whatever the real reason why they didn't fix it, they should have told us 3 weeks ago AND they should have mentioned storage fees 3 weeks ago well. As for an update, We did take it another mechanic and it will be fixed in the upcoming week! read more

From the moment I made an appointment for an estimate everything went like clockwork till I picked up my repaired car. They handled all the paperwork and even arranged the loaner for me. Wow! Absolutely impressed with the quality of work and service done at Branning. After 16 years of driving, I was involved with my first car accident when a deer ran full speed, out of nowhere, in front of my truck on the Garden State Parkway. Luckily, my Toyota Tundra survived with pretty minor damage (considering how much damage deer can cause, especially when traveling at highway speeds) and I was able to drive it home. The same, however cannot be said about the deer (sorry, little guy). When I got home, I contacted my insurance company (Farmer's insurance) and they instructed me to bring my car to Branning for an evaluation, and from there I could choose to stick with Branning, or take it elsewhere for repairs. Freehold was a little farther than I expected, since I live in Toms River, but I was willing to give them a try. Upon first arriving at the location, I was impressed by the size of this operation. They have a good sized plot of land along a somewhat rural farm road, so the parking lot was spacious (something I have to consider since I drive such a big truck) and the building was impressive both in size and in the decoration and upkeep. When you enter through the double doors, you are greeted with a professional-looking receptionist behind the counter. Then you turn your head and take in the space- beautiful marble tiles, a spiral staircase, a gigantic salt water aquarium, and the waiting area with plush, over-stuffed, comfortable, leather chairs. John helped me out to inspect and give me the estimate on my truck. He was thorough, yet was still good about getting me out of there quickly, so I could get on with the rest of my day. Before the day was over, he emailed me the full breakdown of the damage estimate, and my insurance company was also given a copy of the report. I told my insurance company I would stick with Branning to do the repairs, and they told me that everything would be taken care of- they would directly send Branning the money for repairs and helped set me up with a rental car through Enterprise, who would be waiting for me when I dropped off my truck and completed the paperwork for the repairs. Branning's estimate said that it would take about ten days for my truck to be repaired, and sure enough, ten days later my truck was ready to be picked up. Branning did a wonderful job, even giving me a call every week to keep me updated with the progress. When I went to pick up my car on a Friday afternoon, I was really impressed by the quality of work they did. The front bumper looked brand new, the paint matched exactly, and they even washed my truck and did some detailing inside to make the leather seats look shiny and new. As John and I went over the repairs together, I noticed a problem with my alarm system/keyless entry- it wasn't making a beeping sound when I locked or unlocked the doors, like it used to. John told me to bring it back, and the electrician would have a look at it. As promised, the electrician looked at the truck and found the problem- a defective part in the bumper that was affecting the alarm system. They needed one day to fix the problem with the alarm, since they had to order a part, and that seemed to do the trick. They finished the repairs with the alarm system (for free, of course) and they even washed and detailed my truck again! Now my truck looks as good as new, and runs well, without any problems. A minor point unrelated to their repair services, that I would like to compliment them on... When it comes to restaurants, I heard to never fully trust the letter grade that the health inspection people post on the front window. Everything you need to know about the place can be learned by how well they maintain their public restroom. Well, if that's the case, Branning deserves an A++ score! Their restroom completely matches the class and cleanliness that you see in the rest of the building. The place was immaculately clean, with marble floors, rich dark-stained wood panels, new and stylish sinks, and fragrances to cover up any normal bathroom odors or cleaning/chemical fumes. The bottom line is that I thought Branning Auto Body did a fantastic job. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in the area, both because of their quality of work, as well as their professionalism/customer service. Their work is even guaranteed with a lifetime warranty. So if you ever notice the paint start to peel, you can bring your car back to them for a complimentary touch up. The reason for my visit was to get insuer to inspect some damages on my front bumper. I went to the brand new location in Union City, NJ. Originally I was there to get an gieco estimate, I was going to take my car to my normal repair shop. After meeting with the shop owner, I decided to get the work done at their Union City shop. My car was in impeccable shape, when I went to pick it up. My car looked brand new. They not only fixed the bumper, I had several scratches and a dent throughout my car. Those scratches and that dent are now gone! They detailed my car, even treated my headlights. They went above and beyond my expectations. I would recommend both this facility in Freehold and Union City for my mechanical and cosmetic work. Nobody wants to visit an auto body shop, but Branning's makes it as smooth as possible. Nationwide sent me to Branning's after I was rear-ended by someone with their insurance. I was initially skeptical as Branning's was the only nearby in-network shop for Nationwide and they are 30 minutes away. When I called, Brannings told me I didn't need an appointment for an estimate, which was great. When I swung by, the estimate took just 10 minutes and I received a written estimate just a few hours later by email. I made an appointment to drop off my car on Monday, and it was ready by Saturday. Even though Brannings was closed, they arranged to leave the keys in the car and made it possible to pick up the car after hours. The body work itself was spectacular. The rear of my car looks better than new. The color match is perfect and I could not be more satisfied with both the body work and Branning's customer service. Long overdue review but Had horrible service the next time and will not return. They try to rip you off.

Horrible work and service, I have teenage kid driving my car. So I've used them 3 times in a year, I regret it. Every time I've had to bring the car back. Over spray, truck not closing because they never adjusted the striker. This last time the alignment was completely off. When I picked my car up the steering wheel was a quarter turn off. It's a brand new car that just had front end damage. The guy try's to tell my that it pulls because my front wheels are going bald. Then he try's to blame my insurance company for not paying for a alignment. I am a service writer and work for a dealership. Please buddy save it for the little old ladies. Then he tells me I will have to leave my car for a day. They had it over a month. I had it done at work rather then deal with them again. Stay clear they do poor work and take forever. read more

I brought my 2005 Dodge Ram Crew Cab in for a rotted quarter panel which appeared to me was the only rust problem that needed serious attention on the truck. Was quoted $1,500 and was okay with that so I purchased $180 repair rocker panel and drop them both off a week ago. Let me Begin by saying I am very happy to have come here and given my truck to Branning for the attention that it desperately needed I just paid for it the bill was Final and very happily paid $1,531.20 the work is flawless! I should have taken a picture before the work was done now I can't explain without showing what they really did. But I was told by the estimate specialist that $1,500 was The base estimate and it might go up a little bit because both doors have to come off possibly the fender interior parts welding cutting under coating and Sandblasting all these things were mentioned. I thought for sure I was going to go higher than the final price I payed. I can go on and on about how happy I am. I will just leave it at this, Branning is the place to go in Freehold where the others in Freehold shied away from major rust repair. read more

This was an absolutely horrible experience. My boyfriend and I got into a very serious car accident and we're brought to the hospital, in the interm our car was brought here. They had absolutely no apathy towards our situation. About one month after accident occurred, a very rude, unprofessional receptionist by the name of Danielle notified us that there was a fee per day for the car being in their lot (but called no sooner than that). The whole situation was a scam, and no one, including managers rectified the situation in anyway. Danielle should be fired. I would under NO circumstances recommend their services to anyone at all. This the second time in a year that I have worked with Branning and each time the service and quality of work was exceptional. Bill Miller and Chelsea were great partners since both times it was an atypical business relationship. Both times, the insurance estimate for repair costs caused the car be classified as Totaled, though the Honda only had 67,000 miles and was mechanically in great shape. I convinced the insurance company to send me a check minus the salvage costs and I applied that payment to let Branning bring the car back to like new condition for only a small amount over the insurance payout. That meant that we could retain a great quality car for a small additional payment. This was all made possible by Bill Miller and Chelsea getting creative and compassionate in how they worked to restore the car. Based on these two experiences, I would recommend Branning with 100% complete confidence to anyone. read more

Please don't have these people work on your car! It took these guys 5 weeks to replace a bumper cover, 4 tires and rims! I had to locate the parts for this place and when we got car back it still had scratches from front to back, plus a great deal of mileage was put on my Trans Am as well! They are incompetent and arrogant as they told me the car was as good as they were going to do! Allstate insurance was great but they no longer will stand behind their work and paid me back from Brannings bill so I could have a talented body shop fix it correctly! so be forewarned do not have your car brought here! read more
