2018 driver side low beam working properly

The people in-charge of repairing my 2013 BMW X1 with Claim Number 23-4927950-01 were all incompetent & unreliable The first time I picked up my car on Friday, April 28, 2023 and they said everything was working good, But only to find out that same night that the aftermarket adaptive headlight they've used is defective and showing error. So i called them the following day, Saturday, April 29, 2023 to inform them of the issue. i told them that they should used the OEM BMW Valeo adaptive headlight. That same day I called my adjuster and left a message about the issue. so my adjuster approved to use OEM BMW headlight. and additional use of rental car was approve. Friday May 5, 2023, Branning called and told me that my car was ready for pick-up. So i went there immediately coming from my hip doctor appointment that day. I was assured that my car oem passenger side headlight was programmed and working properly. That same night, I drove my car to see if everything was working properly especially the passenger side headlight. I was so frustrated to find out that my passenger side headlight has NO HIGH BEAM BEAM LIGHT and that the LOW BEAM WAS POINTING DOWNWARD ON THE STREET JUST A FEW FEET AWAY FROM MY CAR unlike my driver side which illuminates the road much farther away thus giving brighter view on the left side of the road. So I called them the next day and told them the issue. They want me to bring the car back to them on Monday. i told them to contact my adjuster and informed her of the situation and the issue. Emily said she's going to call me back. Emily called again and informed me that i can bring my car on Monday May 8,2023 and they got a loaner car that I can use. Luckily my spouse was off and he drove me to Branning that Monday morning. I ask for Jo to tell him about the issue. Jo insisted that he checked it himself and that the adaptive headlight was programmed and working properly. I told him its not and that high beam was not working. He checked the headlight and he found out its not working. He said to leave the car and it would take about 45 minutes to an hour to programmed and fixed the issue. So we drove using the loaner car to eat breakfast rather than wait for an hour or so. After an hour branning called me that the car is ready. After eating breakfast we head straight to the shop to get the car. I ask for Jo again and again he told me that the headlight should be working fine since it was programmed already. I ask him if they adjusted the height of the low beam and he replied that I don't have to worry as they programmed it already and it should work fine. I had to see it by myself and noticed that the driver side headlight was clearly illuminating the lens while the passenger side was not. Jo again insisted that he checked and tested it after programming. He also reasoned out that the driver side is older and that the lens is somehow old and been affected by the heat while the passenger side headlight is new thus you cannot see the light shining on the lens. He told me to check it at night. Around 2pm, I parked my car facing the apartment wall and turn on the bright high beam light on. I saw that only the driver side is showing the high beam on the wall and not the passenger side. So I called Branning and look for Jo. I told Jo about the HIGH BEAM NOT WORKING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT. HE AGAIN INSISTED THAT IT'S WORKING AND THAT HE TESTED IT HIMSELF. I replied it's not as i tested it myself with the wall. he said that i tried it night time. I told him that its not working. He then reasoned out that my BMW was showing low battery and that's maybe the reason why it's not working. I told him it's showing low battery as I don't drive my BMW that much. I also told him if the battery voltage is low or my battery is bad, then my car would have a hard time starting. Also my voltmeter is showing 13.8-14volts reading. Then Jo said that my driver side headlight is old compared to the new one which is why it's not the same. So the older 2018 driver side headlight is properly working and giving a brighter light while the new passenger side headlight high beam is not working at all and the low beam is pointing way down the ground. What a dumb stupid reasoning. JO then shifted and told me that maybe the new headlight is defective and that he need to check it. so Jo and his mechanics had my car twice to program, adjust and tested the new adaptive headlight and yet they were not able to have it work properly. he even lied to me twice that he checked and tested it and that its working properly when in fact its not. If Jo really tested said headlight, he will already know what causing all the issue the first time. and then the 2nd time, still NO HIGH BEAM & LOW BEAM POINTING WAY DOWN THE GROUND AVOID HAVING YOUR CAR FIXED BY BRANNING AS THEIR MECHANICS ARE NO GOOD, INCOMPETENT AND UNRELIABLE. THEY WOULD EVEN LIE TO YOUR FACE AND MAKE A LOT EXCUSES AND NOT ADMITS TO THEIR OWN INCOMPETENCE.

I took delivery of my new car yesterday. It couldn't have gone any smoother. The whole process took 1 hour, that's it. I got the car I wanted, at a reasonable price, I got a big trade-in value on my other car, Carlos was very sweet, knowledgeable, professional...I can't thank him enough for his excellent service. How do we know cause my son put it on a lift and saw the mess. I also asked them to check for leak. No leak they said. Tire loses 6 lbs of pressure over 3 weeks. Now the good stuff. I went in for a coolant flush. I decided to change the top radiator hose and thermostat while we had all the coolant out. I asked to have a pressure test and girl at counter said that will be $205 I said forget it and just do the three services and asked if parts were available. She said she would call me back. I actually called parts myself (excellent service all the time) and they said they could hot shot the part if they hurry. That part would have never gotten there because she was going to wait to order. In any event 4 hours later I get a call saying my heater core was leaking. I asked how do you know. Crickets. Obviously I said no to the diagnostics and she left it on the report twice anyway. I said leave the heater core alone and just do the services I asked for. She came back with a bill of over $800 before taxes. How? I spoke to service manager and he billed me out as stand alone jobs. Imagine that. The coolant was already being flushed. All that had to be done was take hose off replace. Maybe 10 minutes if I am being generous. Then to boot, I got billed full time again for thermostat replacement. Again, 15-20 minutes if we are being kind. So if I brought my truck in on three separate days and told them to do all three jobs on separate days I would be billed the same. Another dealer could not believe what I told them who owns 5 by the way. After complaining they basically deducted the diagnostic fee I never authorized cause I never authorized anything til after 12:37PM and I got the call at 11:21AM. Then I said I have a coupon for 10% off and she said ok. She calls back and tells me its done. Give me the price and said I was already discounted can't use the coupon. Billed out over $724.00 with knocking the diagnostics fee off which then would have been over $950. I pick up truck and its covered on the front grill, and side panels, and under the hood with coolant all over the paint. I open the door and plastic cover is still on seat and paper foot pad on the floor. I have spent over $40.00 to get it all cleaned off. I would NEVER go back here for service. The lack of care started at the front desk and continued. I will say that the Parts Department has always been the best part of this place and shout out to them for always coming through for me and my needs but that is where is all stops. Do your homework on the internet and my review is not the first when headlines and then in the first paragraph when searching "Freehold Dodge Complaints" reads poor service department communication, long delays, and aggressive or untruthful sales tactics. Boy that about says it all and sums up my experience on Monday, April 13th. I paid them and walked away but I will it will cost them more than it costs me in the long run.

While the sales team is decent--friendly and good at selling vehicles--that's where the positive experience ends. The service department, on the other hand, is another story: condescending, rude, and dismissive. Incident One: I bought a truck that needed brake service just one week after purchase. I brought it in, thinking it would be a quick fix under goodwill or warranty. They "fixed" it, only for the brakes to start acting up again three days later. I had to take more time off work to bring it back. The master technician was not only unhelpful but also rude and clearly in need of customer service training. Incident Two: A check engine light came on, and my diagnostic tool said it was a transmission belt issue. I informed the shop, but they didn't find anything and instead replaced the heat cap. They kept my Silverado for three days. Just two days after getting it back, the same issue returned. I called, only to be told they had no record of my recent service visit. Now I have to take off work again for something they should have addressed the first time. Bottom line: If you enjoy wasting time and money, by all means, take your vehicle here. Otherwise, look elsewhere
